I'm a little late on commenting, but I'm glad you guys got a nice nap in. No Teppan Edo?????? I wonder if the table service places suffer somewhat during F&W since there are so many great foods to try.

Did it stay crowded back in the World showcase? anxious to read more!

HI CP.

I believe I have posted before but its been a really long time. I LOVED your trip report from this summer. Read the whole thing!!! Now I am loving the F & W trip report. Can't wait to go to one myself....in a year in a half :rotfl:

Chelsea and Connor have such cute personalities...can't wait to see how your Halloween turns out.

I am a firm believer that if workplaces across the world had themed coke machines that people would become much happier. :thumbsup2

I agree! Only I don't want mine school-themed! LOL!

I am SHOCKED that Charles gave up Teppan Edo! Shocked! :scared1:

I made a point of mentioning just how many drinks we could get instead. ;)

Aren't tween-age daughters so much fun! :rolleyes1

Yikes about the crowds entering Epcot! I hope you get to try lots of good stuff!

Denise

Yes, they are!

I was shocked by the crowds, but more so on Saturday night.

OHHHH CANADA!

I'm glad you got your shopping time while Charles napped. Isn't phone service strange at Disney? There have been many times that we have either missed calls or couldn't reach others. Go figure!
Caribbean Beach looks quite pretty!

Was Chelsea afraid that you were having too much fun? Had forgotten about her? Perhaps she was missing you!:goodvibes

I get the spottiest phone service there -- there's like pockets of black holes for phone reception. We barely had any in the hotel room either.

I think all three where Chelsea was concerned. LOL!

I had a fun time browsing the gift shop at Old Port Royale - I think I bought more there than at any other shop.

I loved those coke machines too. ;) But I didn't take a picture... :rolleyes1

I liked the selection available at the CBR gift shop, but didn't actually buy anything since I had promised myself only Food and Wine souvenirs.

Maybe you should take some pictures of the Coke machines on the next trip!

Isn't Charles-the Teppan Edo King...or something like that...:confused3 Can the King miss his dinner there...;)

He could when there were Grey Geese and cheddar cheese soup calling his name. ;)

Poor Chelsea-I think she was missing her mama...;)

And her daddy -- she started pestering him on his cell, too.

Sigh...I don't think I ever noticed the soda machines that much...but I guarantee I will be noticing them next time...soda machines and light fixtures...hmmm...the inlaws are going to think I've gone mad...:lmao:

I know my in-laws think I am slightly off already! :lmao:

Love the coke machine....I remember noticing the one at FW but not taking a snap.

We had spotty phone service as well, texting was more consistent than the actual calls.

No Teppan Edo?

Wow.

I loved the ones at AKL, too -- wish I had gotten a picture.

Yes, we seemed to have better luck with texting as well.

I was a little surprised Charles gave it up, too.

Great post! Can't wait to hear what fun the evening entailed! I enjoyed checking out the grounds and the different areas around the CBR as well...

Can't wait to hear about your new trip plans too! :goodvibes

It was so island-themed there -- makes me want to take a cruise on the new Disney Dream now.

I can't wait to have new trip plans. I am thinking they are going to have to wait until after Christmas now. :(

Did you find Barbados noisy?

I know you said that you didn't mind the location.

That walk to OPR is far to some, to me it's nice and relaxing. It's a probably a bummer to those wanting to refill their mugs....

The whole resort seemed very quiet -- we almost never saw anybody unless we were at OPR or on a bus.

I found the walk relaxing as well.

CBR is so beautiful! Are you considering staying there next year?

Eating around the World Showcase seems like a much better option than an ADR. I'm curious to see what foods you tried for dinner.

Yes, I think that is going to be our summer resort because the kids want to stay there.

There were lots of food tried that evening. :thumbsup2

Bummer that you missed Teppan Edo but I know you guys have eaten there before and sometimes you just need to relax when you're on vacation! Even a Disney vacation!

Can't wait to hear about the rest of your night at Epcot. I hope you get more adult beverages so I can add some more to my list for December! LOL :santa:

Yes, we kept the ADR we hadn't tried before, but it didn't break our hearts to give up Teppan Edo.

There were more adult beverages to be had. ;)

I too am shocked that you ended up skipping Teppan Edo...but sometimes its just nice to relax and just go with the flow!!

It would have meant rushing back to the park, and we didn't really want to do that.

What lovely pictures of the resort and I have to say I'm another huge fan of the themed Coke machines!! Great stuff!!!!

Thank you! I love the themed Coke machines! It doesn't take much to please me. LOL!

EPCOT was crazy that weekend! I knew it would be but still...lots of people!!

Looking forward to more!!!

We had never seen World Showcase that crowded -- not even the week before Christmas.

Cute coke machine!! I probably would have taken a pic of the coke machine--I take pics of everything!! :rotfl2: Sorry Epcot was so crowded! I hope you still had a great time!!

Thank you! Oh, we still had a good time -- I think I would have been more stressed with the kids, but just being the two of us, it was easier to weave through the crowds.

I think relaxing and going with the flow is the way to do it! And there was so much yumminess at F&W!! And of course you know you'll be back relatively soon so there's always next time!

Hmmm you're heading to Canada. Isn't the dragonberry colada in that direction? ;)

There was so much yumminess at the Food and Wine -- makes me wish it was year-round.

The Dragon Berry coladas might be in that direction. :rolleyes1

I have not once taken a picture of a drink machine.

I have maybe done it six or eight times, though. :)

::yes:: You were one of the people I was thinking about, MeMom!

The pictures are beautiful. When you look at your pictures, can you just sense how it all felt? The warmth, the sounds, the breeze, the smells? I just love pictures! I would love to be walking the path beside that lake this morning. I have only seen CBR from the OPR side. I have only been to Caribbean Beach to eat, take pictures, and shop, but I haven't walked over to the areas where the rooms are. I've only gone as far as the beach. I'll have to stay there someday to be able to take my morning walks and see it all. Brooklynn would love the new pool.

That's one of the reasons I love looking at other people's pictures because it always takes me back to WDW! It's the next best thing to actually being there.

F&W had more than enough food to keep anybody from having to have a reservation. It is nice to just be able to go with whatever seems best at the time and not be completely devoted to a plan.

I agree -- and it was much cheaper than a sit-down at Teppan Edo.

You know I meant to take pictures of our themed coke machine but never did. So I guess I'm one of those people now.

By the way, when are you starting your TR, Diamond! I want to compare notes! :goodvibes

I suspect you are heading for some Cheddar soup in Canada.

One of Charles's new loves!

4:30 is not a great time for an ADR. I don't blame you for blowing it off. Especially during the F&W festival.

It was just too early, and we had lots of things we still wanted to try at the kiosks.

I love CBR! It is such a pretty resort! Love the pics!

Love your phone call! So funny!

Thank you! Chelsea was obviously determined to check up on us frequently.

CBR looks so nice - I am contemplating staying there next fall with Sadie, so I am so excited to see your pics of it!

I hope you had a nice night at Epcot....and that the crowds weren't too bad!

It was a lovely resort to stay at -- we were very pleased.

World Showcase was packed, but we had fun anyway. :thumbsup2

Those are GREAT ideas!! Thank you!!!!! That reminded me that a couple years back I saw a guy with Smarties hot glued to his pants...he went as "Smarty Pants".

I really appreciate this, you've got my wheels turning now....

So, what did you end up going as Brook?

Exactly - I never mind reading a slow going, or drama free report! It's about WDW? I'm in!!!! :yay:

Gotta love drama-free from a relaxing vacation standpoint.

I'm really curious to see if Henry will ride it in December, or if he will remember the torture I put him through!!! :rotfl: ;)

I bet Henry will give it another go!

Charles, the King of Teppan Edo, allowed it to be CANCELED?! Wow! But, I suppose-he had just eaten there not long ago, and all those F&W booths....:cloud9: You don't always get those choices!!

That was our reasoning, too.

I'm with LL, themed Coke machines at work would make for a happier workplace! But, they would have to be themed with beautiful things, like the beach, foreign lands, and WDW! ;)

Exactly! ::yes::

HaHa! I love kids!!! I feel like I lost the right to even go to the bathroom on my own th day I gave birth!! LOL

Can't wait to see what other goodies you guys got!

Yep, that is the truth, isn't it?

Whenever Bailie calls me on the cell phone her first question is "where are you"......

I guess I often forget to get her permission to leave the house.;)

:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl: I told Chelsea I was going to do the same thing to her when she was out and about as a teenager. ;)

Cancelled Teppan Edo??!!! CBR looks lovely...will have to put it on my list of "some day" places to stay. I'm so glad Hannah is too young for a cell phone! LOL Ya know...since I've started reading TRs and seeing the pictures people take, I've started taking pictures of things I'd never thought about before. I can see a themed Coke machine being one of those things!

Can you believe it? I thought he would whine, stop his foot, and insist that we keep it. :lmao: CBR was lovely! You should definitely stay there sometime.

Your pics of CBR are just gorgeous. I can't wait to go check it out.

Thank you! It's not POFQ (my favorite moderate and I know it is yours, too), but it is lovely.

I love CBR.

I love leisurely shopping in the gift shop.

I love strolling through all that splendor.

I love feeling relaxed and pirate-y all the same time.

Thanks for bringing me back with your photos. :goodvibes

You're welcome!!! I kept thinking about yours and Tink's stay while we were there. :goodvibes

I know the crowds on a Friday during Food and Wine. We were there last November - it was the last week and it was packed. But, I don't remember the Dragon Berry Colada. That sounded so good!!

Reading about the crowds didn't prepare me for the reality. I think the Dragon Berry is new this year, and I hope it stays on the menu for next year.

I would have totally taken a pic of that machine. No Teppan Edo-bummer. Hope the night brings some yummy food-as I am sure it will.

I couldn't resist! We weren't bummed at all about skipping Teppan Edo -- it was an easy decision for us to make.

CBR looks so pretty. Our ME bus took us there first before CSR this summer... and we both said we want to stay there someday! Can't wait for more EPCOT F and W!

It was so pretty and island-y -- a really neat place to stay.

Lots more Food and Wine to come!

Great CBR pics! :cool1:

I'm staying there for the first time in January and your photos are helping me anticipate (not that I really need any help, but you know what I mean!) ;)

You will love it there! The lanscaping is gorgeous!

I'm all caught up. Your trip so far sounds just about perfect! That Berry Dragon Colada looks delish!

Can't wait to read more.

Hi, Carissa! It was a very nice trip -- we had a lot of fun!

Your pictures of CBR have made me very glad that we're staying there in June. I am really getting excited!! :goodvibes

I think it'd be great to be able to stroll around on my own without feeling guilty that I was leaving DH back in the room with three over-tired kids. One of these days...

I hope you had lots of delicious finds that night!

You will definitely enjoy your stay there. It is a very relaxing resort.

Sometimes those moments away help restore my sanity.

We found lots of delicious finds. ::yes::

Your Bailie, my Keeley, both start their conversations the same way.....:rotfl2:

And Chelsea! I don't remember doing that to my mom when I was a teenager.

Somehow I missed that you started a new TR...but I ma here now. I am on the eve of our own F&W trip and excited after reading your report!

:welcome: Hope you are having a great time at Disney right now, Kat!

they must think we have no purpose in life but to sit at home waiting on their every need.;)

Not.

;)

Happy Halloween to you too!!! :hmghost:

Did your boys have fun last night?

That dragon berry drink looks gorgeous, silly question but what did it taste like? :rotfl:

Hi, Jo! It was kinda fruity and pinapple-tasting. So, so good!

All caught up again. I love your leisurely time this trip! The food looks delish for F&W! I could see how you could just snack away and not do the meals. I think we would really like that. You got some great pics of CBR!

Hope your kids get to go out trick or treating tonight! Have a great time!

We loved our relaxing pace, and I so wish we could do a long week in October. It would be heavenly!

Connor was able to go trick-or-treating -- Chelsea started running a fever yesterday afternoon and had to stay home. :(

Happy Halloween to all of you too!
Jackie, I hope the rain dries up and your two goblins get to go a haunting!

It drizzled the whole time, but Connor was determined to do the whole neighborhood.

happy halloween!!!!

A wedding??!! Who the heck gets married on Halloween??!!!

I'm hoping the rain holds off here too. It was foggy and misty earlier and the sky is gray. Yuck!

 It was the only day the bride could get Frost Chapel at Berry College. It was a beautiful fall wedding though.

:lmao::rotfl::rotfl2:

I'm a little late on commenting, but I'm glad you guys got a nice nap in. No Teppan Edo?????? I wonder if the table service places suffer somewhat during F&W since there are so many great foods to try.

Did it stay crowded back in the World showcase? anxious to read more!

I don't think the table service places suffered too much while we were there because it was still free dining.

It was crowded the whole night, and then the following day it was craziness.

Frankenstein and his bride of course!
:bride:

:lmao:

:welcome: Heather! I am glad you came over to this TR after enjoying the summer report!

It was a good Halloween for Connor, but Chelsea was sick :(.

Have you booked for Summer 2010?

Nope. Between Christmas and my pay cut I am thinking I am going to have to wait until after the holidays to book. :(

I'll bet you didn't do that to your mom because she was always home when you called.....or are you young enough that your mom had a cell phone when you were a teen?:cutie:

Oh, no cell phones for me or my mom! I remember being awed when people had the car phones right about the time I graduated from high school -- and those were the "wealthy" people.

I am enjoying your TR. I especially love the pictures of CBR since we are staying there this summer. I also take pictures of the themed Coke machines.;)

The kids were cute. So sorry Chelsea was feeling bad.

I'm mentally ready to book for next summer, but money is always an issue. We know we'll be value, and I think the idea of staying at AKL at the end of the trip is going to have to wait until summer of 2011. I think this July will just have to be value all the way, as usual, but we still love it!

Shocker's car is more for someone my age. You are definitely too young for that one!

Hey, CP! I hope you guys had a great Halloween. :goodvibes

Hi, TK!!! We all had a great Halloween except Chelsea who started running a fever Saturday afternoon and spent the night lying on the couch. When we got home, we all joined her and watched Gremlins. I had forgotten about a certain Disney nod in the movie, and the kids were absolutely rolling with laughter. How about you? How was your Halloween?

I am enjoying your TR. I especially love the pictures of CBR since we are staying there this summer. I also take pictures of the themed Coke machines.;)

:welcome: CBR is a great resort for the summer!!! You'll love it there!

Pay cuts stink! You can still start planning :thumbsup2 Maybe the buy 4 get 3 deal will be extended.

I am planning away in my head, but I don't want to jinx anything.

The kids were cute. So sorry Chelsea was feeling bad.

I made her stay at home today because she still has a fever. She was in absolute tears about it and kept insisting that she was fine to go. Charles told me she slept three times today though.

I'm mentally ready to book for next summer, but money is always an issue. We know we'll be value, and I think the idea of staying at AKL at the end of the trip is going to have to wait until summer of 2011. I think this July will just have to be value all the way, as usual, but we still love it!

Some days when I am being realistic I lean towards a value stay -- I just think it would be the smartest move for us this year. I'll be happy no matter what as long as we are at Disney.

Where did we head once we entered World Showcase? Well, a stop to say hi to our new friends in Puerto Rico of course. We reloaded our cards and grabbed two Dragon Berry Coladas.

Armed with liquid refreshment it was off to the Great North!

052.jpg

Apparently the locals knew that the Canada kiosk was the place to be judging by the line.

053.jpg

I amused myself while we waited by taking pictures.

054.jpg

Shhh, be very, very quiet -- it’s a Disney rabbit.

056.jpg

For those keeping count this was my third Dragon Berry of the day.

055.jpg

Finally, we were through the line and armed with Cheddar Cheese Soup and Maple-Glazed Salmon. Neither Charles nor I have ever eaten at Le Cellier. We’ve read the reviews, we’ve seen the pictures, we’ve even had a reservation before, but we’ve never actually visited the place.

Let’s just say that after eating this…

058.jpg

And this…

057.jpg

We have a new must-do for next time. ;)

UP NEXT: Donald, we will not be sharing our lobster and scallops with you!
