Hi there! I've been looking through the forum but couldn't find any info on possible chairs/areas where you can put a towel in the shade.

I'm going to Typhoon lagoon somewhere next week with my children and parents. My mother is in her 70s, doesn't like the water but wants to come with us. She doesn't want to sit in the full sun all day. Where is the best place for her to go so she can relax and read a book? I've looked at renting an umbrella's but I think they're too expensive. Hope you can help.

There are shaded areas with umbrellas where the former Shark Reef used to be. There is a also a fully covered canopy with chairs. I recommend getting there as soon as the park opens as the chairs under the canopy were taken quickly. The chairs with the umbrellas didn't go as fast and the area is fairly quiet overall.

Thank you! And these are free of charge? I'll have to take a look at a map to see where the shark reef used to be.

Yes they are. It's on a first come first served basis.

To get there, when you reach the wave pool, turn right and walk past the lockers, Crush N Gusher and Miss Adventure Falls. There's a bunch of chairs near a bar and a quick service right in front of a giant orange submarine statue. Those are the chairs I'm referring to and to the left of those is the shaded canopy.

That's a big help, thanks for the details.

I usually go during the summer so it's extra crowded however before I started getting a cabana we used to go over to the canopies and people have no problem moving your stuff to squeeze in chairs to be under the canopy. Just an FYI.

The rudeness of some people is shocking. Thanks for the heads up!

We always put our stuff back by the kids area. We’ve never had an issue getting some chairs in the shade
