I've tried doing a search to get my questions answered, but haven't really found any current info. We're staying at SOG the first week of March. We will have our van, but my parents are flying in to join us for most of the trip and we won't have enough room for all of us so we plan on using SOG and Disney transportation. What time do the buses start running in the morning? We want to get to the parks well before opening time and we also have an 8:30 ADR at Boma one morning. What's going to be our best ways of getting to each?

TIA!

I believe that the busses begin to run an hour before the park opens. We did not use the busses there to much because we would walk to the Poly and use the monorail or buses from the TTC to the parks. This was only because while we were there they were making some improvements to the busses and there were supervisors riding and lots going on. As for as getting to Boma I have no idea since I have never been there before. I am sure someone form guest services at SOG can help you out with that. I am thinking that you will have to take the bus to the TTC and go from there but like I said I am not sure. Transportation at SOG is not bad at all and if you like a nice peaceful walk the poly is only minutes away. Have a great trip!!!!

We have stayed at the SOG twice and the transportation starts one hour before the park opens. However, the poly is always a option and I think that opens at 7am. We never had a problem getting to the parks before they open using the SOG transportation and it does not stop at other resorts so that was a benefit.

Thanks :) I've also heard differing responses to where the buses go. Do they just take you to the TTC or to the individual parks?

They go to the parks, DTD and the TTC.

I do not think they have buses that go directly to Epcot or Magic Kingdom.. I believe they expect you to go to the TTC and then take the monrail to those two parks. I bet if you called SOG they can give you that information.

You're right about MK, but I'm pretty sure I've taken a SoG bus to Epcot in the past.

Haven't stayed there for five or so years now, so things might ahve changed...

I haven't been since June 2005 and can not really remember either. Probably do to the fact that we would just take the monorail. Who wants to ride a bus when you can cruise on over on the monorail:cool1:

I wish there was FAQ thread for SOG on here like they have for the resorts!

We go every year and use the transportation when it is possible.

To get to MK and Epcot, you take the TTC bus and then get the monorail. These buses run every 15 minutes.

They have a bus to Animal Kingdom and one to MGM. The buses to these parks run either on the half hour or the hour. However, to get to BOMA, you would have to go to Animal Kingdom and then get a resort bus from there. You probably would not make it there in time.

I always take a car to get to MGM and AK since it is easier.

SOG buses.

One goes directly to and only to TTC I think every 15 minutes. From TTC you can catch any WDW bus to MGM or Animal Kingdom. It is quicker than taking the SOG bus.

One goes to DTD, but don't know the hours for that one.

I did not keep track, but someone can specify. These go once an hour...
One goes to a water park and Animal Kingdom
One goes to other water park and MGM.

You must take the TTC bus to use the monorail for transportation to Epcot and MK.

THere is a golf cart during certain hours from SOG to the end of the driveway. They work for donations and it makes a great shuttle for getting to Poly. Catching it from Poly to SOG is hit or miss as you would be catching it when someone else has received a ride to the end of the driveway.

Of course, you can use the monorail at Poly.

Thank you to everyone for the information.

I've changed our ADR at Boma to 10 a.m. so that should help. I guess my parents could always take a taxi while we drive over, but I'd rather we all go together.
