Shades of Green-Economy Option?

I was looking over a lot of the rest menus at another site last night and just happened upon the buffet menu(s) at SOG. I was AMAZED at the selection and the pricing!

Down home southern cuisine. That's what we like. LOL

I know it's not the standard vacation/Disney fare and I'm sure it's not part of the DDP but it sure does look good to us and VERY reasonable; certainly compared to virtually every other Disney resturant we've eaten at over the years.

Is it good? I don't see very much talk about it here. Is that because it's more traditional fare than the fancier places most people want to eat at during vacation? Most importantly; is the general public invited or is it military only? I know I've heard that it's military only (and military families) for rooms but what about the rest?

You need to have a Military ID to even get on base, so unless you or someone you're with has an ID, unfortunately you're out of luck. Sorry

not owned by Disney. All facilities are for military personnel and their guests.
The golf courses around it are Disney property/open to the public though.

For what it's worth to those who are eligible, I didn't think the buffet was bad. Wasn't overly wonderful though either.

I agree with the PP- for what it is worth, in a pinch it was fine. One night one in our party was sick and we just wanted something without going far and it was economically, clean and fine. I wouldn't be bummed if I couldn't eat there though!

It's not talked about much because most of us (I'm assuming...) cannot get access to it.
