SHADES OF GREEN at Walt Disney World Resort Thread

We just decided to take a vacation to Disney in 2 1/2 weeks. Thankfully, SOG has availability, but I question how to load FP+ and other conveniences on. Is there a way to preload up Fast Passes (of Fast Pass +, not sure of the differences) before we arrive at the gates? We will be driving down from Buffalo, NY with three children under the age of 3. Looking to preplan as much as possible. I expect to be purchasing our MB's and then loading the Fast Passes up on them along with our Armed Forces Salute tickets.

We'll be at SOG in one month and this is the way I understand it. You can purchase your AFS in advance. They will send you an email confirmation that they have been purchased. If you choose to order them in advance make sure that you tell them that you want to book FP+ with them. They will give you the ticket numbers that you will need to do so. If you don't tell them I don't think that you will get the number.

If you choose to wait to purchase your tickets when you arrive you will not be able to book FP+ until then.

As far as your MBs I think that you will have to purchase them at the gate and then link them with your tickets. I'm not sure that you can purchase them at SOG.

Does anyone know if the SOG has cribs upon request. If there are cribs is there a fee and what is the weight limit for the crib? I googled the standard limit on newer cribs and most are set at 50 lbs.
My sister and her family will be staying at the SOG next month. We will be bringing an air mattress but this will be the first time her daughter will not be in a crib, so I want a back up plan just incase.

Thank you so much. We did purchase the Salute 4 day hopper tickets and were emailed the voucher numbers. I was able to link them online to My Disney Experience with no issues and we booked all 4 days worth of Fast Passes. Very easy and very happy for getting our passes at only 18 days out. This was a spur of the moment decision to go to Disney.

All in all, it took only about 4 hours from the time we purchased the tickets to completing our Fast Pass reservations!

That's great!

The best way we have found coming back to SOG during any of our visits was taking the resort monorail back to the Polynesian and then walking across the street to SOG...typically much better than the bus! Even during the holidays!

I wonder if they can call SOG when they arrive at the Poly and see if the little shady shuttle can come out and meet them at the end of the driveway so "Mom" doesn't have to walk so far?:confused3

Does anyone know how long of a walk it is from the Polynesian Monorail to the Shades of Green entrance? We looked at it on Google Earth and I don't think it's too long of a walk, however DW says that it looks long.

Any advice? We are traveling with a 3, 2, and a 9 month old.

It's not a bad walk, but I'll tell you it seems much longer after you've been in a park all day and on your feet. We did it several times back in September but our kids are a bit older. I'd say if you have a stroller for the kids, you should be just fine.

As for the distance, I'd compare it to walking around the World Showcase at EPCOT. :thumbsup2

This is exactly what we did

its not that long of a walk, but it is all uphill coming back from the poly to sog, which can be a chore at the end of a long park day pushing a stroller with multiple kids! That said we've always done it, not a big deal (except the wee hours after EMH at 3 am when the sprinklers came on and we got soaked, lol).

We are heading to Disney in late spring. We are not staying at SOG but we do already have our military salute tickets (4day park hopper). Will we be able to take a "down" day in the middle of our trip or do our tickets expire on the 5th day? I read on another site that the military magic my way expire on the 5th day. Does this apply to the salute tickets as well? Thanks!

So funny! We returned from the parks one night during our last trip in September around midnight. Thankfully the sprinklers were ALREADY ON when we were walking down the sidewalk. We just walked in the middle of the road and through the main gate! However we couldn't help but wonder what it would have been like if they had come on AS we were walking! :confused3 :rotfl2:

I haven't been on here for a while and had a question. What is the difference between Magic Your Way Tickets and Magic Your Way Stars & Stripes? We don't care about going to the Water Parks or any of the extras, just really looking for the park hoppers. We will be needing tix for 9 days. TIA!

I believe the Magic Your Way tickets can be purchased at SOG no matter where you are staying, but the MYW Stars and Stripes tickets are a length of stay ticket that you have to be staying at SOG or a Disney resort in order to purchase. Someone correct me if I am wrong. :)

Yes, you can take a "down" day in the middle of your 4-day military salute park hopper tickets. We have done this before during a week's stay. We have also done this where we have had a quick trip in the spring (used 1 day), then came back in Sept before they expired (used the other 3 days).

Ok, that's how I read it on the paperwork they e-mailed me. I just wanted to make sure I was reading it right. Thanks for your help!

We just got back from an 8 day stay at BCV. I rented from Buena Vista Scooters, it was $30 a day +tax..it was my second time renting from them. 1st was when we stayed a SoG. I could not have done it without the scooter. The amount of walking you do is beyond belief! We are coming back to SoG next October and I will have a Buena Vista scooter waiting on me!

There was an announcement today that parking lots A - G will close today for construction of the 2nd parking ramp. The SOG bus stop is considered lot E. Does anyone know where the bus stop will be relocated?
