SHADES OF GREEN at Walt Disney World Resort Thread

The artist renderings were for the Mill Pond Pool.. (AKA the Mickey pool.) They are supposed to be resurfacing that pool soon as well as add a 2 story water slide to it and a fort splash pad to the little kiddies splash pool.. The renderings sure do make it look like it will be a lot of fun..

Thanks. This must be what he saw. Previous posts suggest work is starting on this pool this winter. That means it won't be open for our February trip:sad:Kids will be dissappointed.

Sending you some Pixie dust that it will be a quick refurbishment and be done by your trip.. The kids should still be able to enjoy the new Magnolia pool though..

My family will also be there in February, Here is hoping for some warm weather for us..:goodvibes

Yay.. Glad that you were able to see the new pool.. Let me know how the Siemens lounge is when you go.. Also. did you request the card to be at your check in?..
Enjoy Ohana.. One of my faves..:thumbsup2

Nope, didn't request the Siemen's card. They just gave it to us with our hotel info. 'Ohana was fabulous. The meats are now shrimp (don't eat it), pork, steak, chicken. All were very moist and had great marinades. DH was very impressed. Our waiter told us the chef had changed up the meats/marinades. The other 3 times we've eaten there were just okay.

Ate at Grand Floridian Cafe tonight. Also very good. Came back to the room around 9. MK has the MVMCP tonight so it "closed" at 7 to those of us without party tickets. We went yesterday to the TTC and traded our ticket vouchers in for tickets. RFID on the hard tickets works great. See lots of Magic Bands. We went to AK today at 8 am (EMH) and rode EE (25 min wait), safari, did both trails, saw It's Tough to be a Bug" and left around 10:30. Went to MK. Lines weren't that bad. Longest wait was SpM (about 25 min). Walked on several rides. HM broke down while we were in line. Got FP for Buzz Lightyear and rode SpM while waiting for FP time. Onto DHS and Epcot tomorrow.

For the week we are trying to book, they are only showing 3 of 7 nights available online. We are going to try calling today to see if they come up with anything different.
I've read that in the past, SOG will book at a Disney resort at a discount if they do not have availability. Has anyone done this and would know the details of how it works? Is the rate comparable to SOG and what level of resort do they book into?

Siemens lounge was pretty sparse. There's a couple of interactive screens. One all about Siemens, one with weather/park info and a couple of other things. Soda dispensers and coffee (all free) and the windows overlooking Epcot towards World Pavilions. Also, very nice bathrooms and a few seats. Pretty simple. Good place to stop off and get a drink. BTW, the pass is good for one time only. It has a pin code on the back that you use to access the area, then stairs/elevator up to the receptionist who takes the card and tells you where you can and cannot go. If you want to ride Spaceship Earth, they will escort you to the ride when you're done in the lounge. SE was a walkon as usual though so we had ridden it already. BTW, the entrance to the lounge isn't really visible. If I remember right, it's on the right side of SE as you enter Epcot. It's where the exit for SE is on that side. There's a door with "Siemens" on a sign next to it. You go in there and there's a pin code reader and camera (watching you lol). We had to ask for directions.

Thank's for the info.. I was really not expecting too much out of it but it is always nice to have a new place to explore.. Thanks for all the info..:)

So I heard they started some kind of testing on Swan-Dolphin. Anybody hear or experience anything on this side? We are going in April, getting kind of antsy...maybe a little earlier to get antsy, but already made all my reservations, so just kind of cooling my heels right now !!!

I just saw this yesterday from Steve at Military Disney tips:

Good news for Walt Disney World’s Fast Pass Plus system and the Disney Armed Forces Salute Tickets – Numerous reports of FP+ reservations made against exchange vouchers purchased on base carrying over through the activation process.

Not sure if it is working for some or all.. It was interesting to know that it was a possibility though..

Can anyone who has used the SOG bus to the TTC recently let me know where the pick up / drop off spot was? I know it used to be in the area that provided benches under a covered area. I thought that I had recently read that it was now in the middle of the parking area with no covering and benches. Thanks.

Yes, it is now in the middle. I think it is the first slot in the middle. At least, it was when I went in September. Don't know why they moved it, but no more cover/shade. :confused3

Well, that kind of stinks. :(

Thanks. I was also surprised to hear this. SOG had the first spot under the covered roof for a long time.

oh wow, that's crazy. It was bad enough that there was no "queue" line, especially at night. But now there aren't any benches? nuts. That parking lot gets crazy busy at peak times and we're now supposed to just stand in the middle of the lot? Insane.

It is cordoned (sp?) off so we aren't actually stnding in the parking lot, thank goodness. And, if I remember right, there is a bench. But there is no cover. And I can't remember exactly who has our old spot, but if memory serves (and, at my age, I wouldn't make any bets), I think it was Epcot? Anyone out there know for sure?

I was looking forward to trying SOG for our April trip until the whole magic band/fp+ thing!
I read somewhere that if you stay one night at a Disney resort it will allow you to make FP+ reservations beyond that one night? So I could switch to SOG and still utilize FP+ for the duration of our trip? Has anyone tried this?

SOG response "Disney refurbished the TTC lot several months ago and our bus stop was changed at that time. Although the new spot is not covered it is just as close to the entrance as our previous spot."
I was going to guess EPCOT has our spot now. Pretty sure EPCOT had a makeshift spot in front of the HS bus the last time we were there.
Someone there or going soon (not me, sigh) should post a picture.
