Shade in DLR lines?

Hi! I'm new to posting, though I've been reading here for a few months. I tried searching for similar topics, but didn't find much info on it.

One member of our party is a melanoma survivor. She needs to avoid direct sunlight as much as possible. She does already use sunscreen, sun protective clothing, and a sun protective parasol. But, even with all those, it's still not safe to be in the sun all day long. She tries to limit any exposure between about 10am-4pm.
My question is how many of the lines are shaded and/or indoors? We will be there in February, so I was hoping the lines would be fairly short. But, it looks like all of President's Day week will be very busy, which is when we will be there. So, I'm trying to come up with some coping strategies for us.

Thank you for any help! :goodvibes

Most rides are not shaded, at least not totally. The inner courtyard FL ones are with the exception of Dumbo. Roger Rabbit, IJ and Jungle Cruise also come to mind right away. Space Mountain mostly is and Star Tours has a small (depending on the crowd level) part of the line outside with the majority being indoors.

Nothing else comes to mind right now for DL, DCA had a few but most are at least partly outside.

I was just there this July, first time in many years, and I was surprised how few areas are shaded compared to WDW. DCA is especially bad for long, unshaded lines. Cars Land is like an oven, with the sun baking the asphalt.

Your friend may need to take a lot of inside breaks. Use a touring plan and FP as much as possible.

Melanoma survivor here - if she gets good SPF sunscreen, and the light weight but long sleeved SPF rated clothing, and a good sunhat with a wide brim, she should be OK for a day or two of February sunshine. Just remind her to keep the backs of her ankles slathered with sunscreen if she's not wearing socks.

I go to WDW in August and my dermatologist (head of the melanoma clinic) says that as long as I reapply the sunscreen, and don't get burned, I'm fine for a week of sun. My forearms get a tiny bit tanned, but the rest of me stays white. There are some really great sunscreens out there - make sure she buys some new stuff for the trip as using old stuff is a big no-no.

Thank you for all the replies. :upsidedow
I had a feeling most of the outside lines wouldn't be shaded, which is a bummer to me too. I'm definitely happy in my cloudy PNW. I tend to melt in the heat! Of course, that's a big part of the reason to go in February.

The walking around will be tricky as well. But, I had already figured on that part. She may just end up avoiding the parks for most of the afternoon, I'm not sure. I mostly just wanted the info so that we can make the best plan for all of us.

We checked with guest services when we arrived and told them our daughter has a hard time with the sun. We got a pass for her to stand in shaded areas while waiting in line. Husband and I would take turns waiting in line while the other stood with her in the shade. Worked great for us. Only used it when really necessary -was nice for character greetings

(She suffers from low blood sugar and the heat/ direct sun can make it worse)
