I feel like I've fallen behind in my own PTR... So I might as well post in Andrea's.

Thank you Cheryl... Always looking out for everyone.
D~ glad you were able to make it to the cemetery yesterday and then spend some fun time with your brother. I think I recall you mentioning he was handicapped, but I never knew he went into foster care. What a blessing that he is fostered by a great family.
Thank you... Yes, we are very lucky. He first lived with his foster mom's parents for a little over a year, and then his current foster family took him in when they were first married - before they had children of their own. Then they had 3 boys... Now their oldest is out of college and married himself - and Jonathan is a HUGE part of their family. I love being able to see him at his foster home, because he is a totally different person there than when he is with my dad... Hard to explain - but his foster family treats him like a normal person and makes him do for himself as much as possible... they also advocate for him. I trust both of them completely with his care and wellbeing - I would have no idea where to start. So, yes, we are truly fortunate. I only wish I could see him more often, we used to live only 15 minutes away, but when we moved 6 years ago - we are now 3 hours away.
What should I do first today?
Plan my wardrobe along with Marianne???
Finish wrapping my last few Christmas presents?
Wrap dd's birthday presents?
Sew dd another Christmas dress seeing as I bought expensive fabric for her over the summer (she picked it out) that today went on sale for 30% off

?
Sew 6 luggage tags for my sister (and these will be a bit more extensive than the usual ones I make as I am going to make these close)?
Sew 25 bookmarks for the kids' classmates?
Vacuum the mess my dogs made? -- dh took the stockings off the fireplacce hangers yesterday when he had the fireplace going and never hung them back up so one of my beloved poochies decided to grab them all off the table and he or she or perhaps both chewed a tassel off one so there are little tassel pieces all over the living room now. Additionally, one of them took a present and got the bow off and chewed the tag -- it was a ds game and thankfully they didn't chew on that. They have never taken presents before. I may be taking them on lots of car trips to and from the kids' school each morning and afternoon now until Christmas!
I think you should plan your outfits with Marianne... After all, it's the most fun thing to do, out of all of your options.
If it makes you feel any better... Rufus got into the Dutch chocolate that Brian and Myrthe brought for the girls for Christmas a few weeks ago - he ate almost all of it (he would have eaten all of it, if we wouldn't have come home when we did)... The girls were not happy. And Rufus was bloated for 2 days... We know that chocolate is horrible for dogs, but we didn't realize that Brian and Myrthe had wrapped chocolate, so we didn't put it up. Normally, he doesn't get into chocolate or gifts - but that Dutch chocolate must be pretty potent smelling if he could find it.
It must have been nice to spend the day with your brother and girls. What a nice way to remember your mom. I am sure that the anniversary of her death is a difficult day each year. I don't think it matters how old you are or how long she's been gone. It sounds like the family that fosters your brother is wonderful to him. While your parent's dream of having the family all together never happened, at least they had the peace of knowing that his foster family is taking excellent care of him.
Those go karts look really fun. Is really cold enough there to have the lake frozen solid already? It will be in the 50's here this week and I already am constantly cold! I am jealous of my kids who leave for Florida on Thursday. It will be 80 degrees during the day down there. Last year when we went for winter break is was quite cold. Only in the 50s during the day. They even had frost several mornings last year during winter break.
Thank you.
Yes, I was surprised that the lakes are frozen enough... they whole way north the other day, we noticed people out ice fishing, and we even commented that they were crazy, because it hasn't been cold enough for long enough that the lakes have frozen over... but I guess they have? We were surprised when we got to Jonathan's foster parent's house, and they have 8" of solid ice on their lake. That day, Sunday, was 50° though, so it was a perfect day.
Can't wait to see the next messenger bag. I don't know how you hand appliqued the coin purse with such a tiny applique. You are amazing!
We'll I am off to deliver DD's gym clothes to school since she forgot them. Then I am visiting my friend who has cancer.
I should be posting pictures of it this afternoon. I hope to finish it sooner than later. I have no idea how I do small appliques, I just do.
I hope you had a nice visit with your friend yesterday.
I do what I can to make the world a better place. (Gee, it's hard to be humble.)
I don't think that "humble" is the right word... I think you're just trying to make up for all the naughty stuff you do.
PS Have you noticed that D~'s been posting on your PTR a lot lately? I wonder what that's all about.
You are soooo confused Cheryl.
I bought the skirt at Target and added the zebra mickey head - I can send you a zebra mickey head so you can add it to your skirt

The capris are easy if you have a pair of jeans to cut off or capris to embellish

Tell you what - the Epcot Mickey Head Flags are much better as embroidery, so I'll send you a pair of jeans to do up for me when you do your own capris and you send me the jeans you want made into traditional Mickey capris and I'll do those for you. Cheryl, D~ and any one else going to POFQ on this trip - do you want to get in on this exchange??? Which wardrobe piece to you want to do???
I think that this would be fun to do an exchange... but D~ is much bigger than all of you, so I don't think it will work.

But I'll happily case all you stuff.
I am glad you all had a good time with your brother, but I could never live up there...lakes frozen so much that you can drive vehicles on them is just plain wrong to me who will stay firmly planted in the south thank you very much!
Lynn
ROFL... I don't enjoy the cold either - truthfully. I can't stand it. But I do like the snow up until New Years... Then I hate that too.

I love spring though...
I plan to head up to my sewing room right away this morning and finish Allison's bag. I was able to applique for an hour yesterday morning before work and an hour in the afternoon before the girls got home. So, I made a huge dent in it. I really hope to finish it up early today, but I will just be happy to finish it and get pictures posted before the girls get home from school. I can't wait to show you all what Blyssfull did for me!

However, I do have to run to the little fabric store by me and get some gray thread - so that will take a chunk of time - unless I can talk Josh into doing it for me???

I will just be relieved to get this done in time. Honestly, I would really love to get them wrapped too. I am thinking of wrapping them seperately, but tying a ribbon around them to keep 'em together??? I am just super excited to give them to the girls - I hope they love them!
So, you all can stalk my PTR today for pictures.
