Sewing Help?

Hi all!

I've taken an interest in sewing but could really use some direction! My mom is a whiz on her sewing machine but we both are pretty busy and she hasn't had time to teach me much.

Does anyone know of any helpful websites/books/videos that help newbies learn to sew? I'm not looking for anything super advanced but something to just get me started!

I learned to sew when I was 28. Have you looked into classes from the place you bought your sewing machine?

One of our largere fabric stores and a vacuum/sewing machine dealer in the area offer classes on the machines you own, so that you learn about the various stitches and functions. Even our JoAnns now has Husqvarnas and they provide different classes.

If not, check with other craft stores to see if they have classes or can recommend someone. All you need are a few one on ones to get to know your machine better.
