That would be a real bummer.

It looks like it might be cleared by tomorrow, so Aulani guests can return to the ocean.

We are at Aulani today and its our first day. It really sucks that we can't go in the ocean here, but we'll be here until Friday so I'm sure it will open before then. I do feel bad for the other guests. I am sure the pools are extra-packed today too because of it (I can't tell what is "packed" because its our first day and I don't have any idea what it's like on a normal day).

Oh no. I never thought this kind of problem would happen to paradise Aulani. I hope it clear out quickly. What a big bummer for the guests there.

The far two bays are open. We just got back from the Mariott bay. The walk doesn't take too long. It is an inconvience.

Sorry the picture is so big. I posted from my iPhone and had no control over the size.

My kids like to call it poop bay.

I hope it gets cleared up that quickly!! We arrive in just a few days.

Trust me, us CM's are hoping for a beach opening tomorrow as well!! It sucks because the pool deck has been slamming due to the beach closure which makes for some very unhappy guests! Lots of yelling at us but it's not our fault, promise ! :)

That makes me sad. We've only had wonderful CM's so far here at Aulani. We know it's not your fault and, honestly, the resort is still fantastic even without the ocean - you can still play on the beach! Do your best to ignore the jerks.

The picture above makes it look like you cannot play on the beach..

There is a lot of space on the beach in front of Aulani. I know the prior photo makes the beach look crowded, but the photo's perspective is a bit misleading. Disney puts the beach chairs in one area and guests move them around to suit their wishes. This photo might give you a better feel for the amount of space on the beach:

Here is another photo of Aulani's beach, taken from the Grand Villa on the 10th floor:

Pretty unhappy with Aulani today. Not only is the beach closed, but the people here had the bright idea to paint the kids play pool area last night and it's also completely closed today. That means there is ONE water area to play in besides the lazy river. Why couldn't they wait until the beach was back open??

Not only that, we booked a cabana for the family today by the kids pool (#6) and the pool isn't even open! What is the point of having the cabana right here today then!

Just stupid... Someone wasn't thinking. I can tell there are a lot of unhappy guests today. Including me.

The rest of our trip better be start to improve here at the resort.

UGH! I can just imagine what the hot tubs look like today! Give yourself a break and book a spa treatment so you can use the mineral baths and hot tub there.

I'm sorry Ethan, that sounds terribly disappointing and I agree, bad idea to close any pools. :(

Hopefully they'll get everything situated quickly.

We spent the last week at Aulani and it was honestly - by far - the nicest dvc resort. The staff is amazing and will bend over backwards to make you happy. I was there for 2 days of beach closure - we went to north shore one day. Sure the pools are crowded and there are lines for the slides - but it was what I expected over spring break. Honestly - if you can't have a good time there - I'm not sure where you will. One of our best weeks ever.

Beach is still closed, 3rd day in a row (and we've been here for 3 days now). Ugh.

I know it's not Disney's fault but this sucks.

I thought I remember reading an article where it says that they aren't sure when it's going to be up but weren't sure if it would be anytime soon. There are other places you can go, like the other two lagoons that aren't affected by it. If you have a car you can go to North Shore like someone suggested. :) I hope it gets cleared up though!

Walk about 15 min towards waikiki on the path. You will be at the two lagoons that are open. Its only a 15 minute walk or so. Very nice day today. Just got back from marriott ko olina. Beach should be open next week Wednesday when we go back to aulani. If anyone wants to meet up for a chat.

Where did you read that it is expected to open until next week?
