~ Sew Sweet 16 ~I’m packing your angry eyes just in case~Aug 2014~ BFF' bag 8/20!!!!

Good morning everyone!

Bernadette, its great to see you... I will text you about plans.

Yesterday was the same as all the others...

I walked...

I read...

I wore my new shirt from Stephanie... (And my size 9 Hollister shorts, which admittedly are still too tight)

I cooked...

I read again...

I sat outside...

I daydreamed of my Disney outfits... ::yes::

Some friends of ours on the lake came with their pontoon and we went for a ride... Would love to get a pontoon up here.

Josh took the girls out on the jet skis...

Then he BBQed ribs on the grill.

Grandma and Grandpa made home-made bread pudding, which I tried a taste of, it was delicious!

We enjoyed a nice sunset/moonrise...

I finished my book...

Josh took the girls out fishing this morning...

I plan to go for a walk...

Mm found a dead fish out back, which he keeps rolling in... :( Which then prompts the vicious cycle of... Get mm in the lake as fast as you can... Throw his dummy lots... Put him in doggy jail (kennel out back)... Where he constantly begs for parole... Feel bad for him because of biting flies... Move him to the garage to dry off more... Finally move him to the doggy room in the house once he's dry enough. It's been a couple of miserable days at the lake for mm. And of course, no one wants to pet him/be by him because he smells so bad.

We also have to start cleaning and packing today... Our vacation is almost over. Sad.

I hope you've all enjoyed my daily updates at the lake... Prepare yourselves to be inundated with Disney trip stuff when we get home! I still have all my fps to tell you about, plus all of our customs, plus all of my regular stuff too! Its gonna be a busy few weeks!

My prayers and hugs are with you all! :grouphug:

Hi Dee, I've enjoyed reading about your lake vacation. It reminds me of my childhood summers. I was fortunate enough to have grandparents on both sides of the family with summer homes. My grandmother's home was on a lake located on the Wisonsin-Michigan border. We had similar experiences to yours, with the boats, the fishing, the water skis and lots of down time. We would take lots of hikes and read lots of books. We also spent our evening playing card games and board games. It was lots of fun. The other grandparents had a summer home on the St Clair River, north of Detroit. The river is used by the ore boats coming from Lake Superior on through the St Lawrence Seaway. We used to love watching the big boats go by. My grandfather had a Chris Craft boat and I remember how cool it was to take the boat to the restaurant for dinner. I'm not sure why that seemed so special, but it was. :)

Sadly, those homes were sold when my grandparents passed away. We were never able to duplicate those kinds of summer vacations for our kids. You are lucky you still have it to enjoy. :)

You must be going crazy knowing how much work you have waiting at home. I know I would be. ;)

Your making me want to buy a house on a lake. We almost did back in 98 but we barley just got married with two small ones we just didn't jump on the chance. When ever we visit my mom I go check out my almost land that now has a ugly house on it. If only we bought.

Glad to see you are having a peaceful vacation!
Nice to still have Disney to look forward to so soon!

I can't wait to see your Fast Pass Plus selections! (and to hear how well it works for you!)

Safe trip home!

Good morning everyone!

We head home this morning... Lots of work to do before we go though. I praise the Lord that the girls are older and A: They help clean up. And B: they don't make as big of a mess as they used to.

We will be stopping at my dads on the way home to help him pack for his trip. He leaves on Thursday for Oregon/Washington. I was going to fly out to fly him back, but I just cannot squeeze those few days out of my hectic schedule before our trip. I've found a direct Amtrak train, and I plan to book him a sleeper room... I think it will be a fun trip home for him with some beautiful relaxing scenery. As it is, I will have to carve 2 days out of my schedule to meet him at the train and get him settled again. But that will be much easier than trying to fly out to wa and back the week before we go to disney.

I hope to be home by dinner time tonight. We received a text from our neighbor yesterday that the mail man delivered all of our mail a day early (they were supposed to be holding it until tomorrow), so my neighbor put it in our house for us. He specifically said there were lots of pkgs in there... Can't wait to see... I am sure my Donald shoes are part of it!

I also hope to get up to my sewing room tonight... I have about 2 hours worth of work on my first park bag, I would love to get it finished up asap. I also told v last night to prepare for an evening or two on my sewing room this week, that ohana bag must get finished. Besides that, I will be working on 2 bags simultaneously this week... Auction bag #10 & my regular custom order... If I can finish these 4 bags this week, I will feel much less stressed... Then I can work on my last personal trip bag on the side, and possibly have enough time to do v's requested trip bag as well. Phew!

Josh has his big procedure scheduled tomorrow on his back... This was the one that was supposed to be done last month, but they rescheduled it on him with out telling him. So, prayers would be welcome... Also, Jennifer's dd Charlotte is having surgery tomorrow, I am sure she would be comforted by some extra prayers too. :lovestruc

Normally, I don't like to mention people specifically because I don't want anyone to feel that I've forgotten them... All of you are always in our thoughts and prayers, even if I don't mention your name. I hope you know that.

Thank you to all of you who stuck around and read about our adventures at the lake this week. However relaxing it is, its very difficult for me to sit here knowing I could be doing so much more at home, and it would make these last weeks before our trip easier... But we had a good time, and now the girls and I are in full on final countdown/packing mode for Disney. :woohoo: We are just as excited as ever!

I hope you all had a nice weekend... Prayers and pixie dust to all.

Good Morning Friend!:goodvibes

Have a safe trip home! Can't wait to see you next month! I like the sound of that "next month". :cool1::hug:

I have so much to get done between now and then. I have my family reunion in Michigan 10 days before we fly to Orlando. I feel like I should be packing or something.:rolleyes1:lmao:

Have a safe trip home. I leave in a few minutes to go sell lemonade at the church festival. One of my work friends is in charge of the lemonade stand so I help her with it.
It looks like you had a great time at the lake.
Liz

I hope you had safe travels home! It sounds like you had an awesome time at the lake. I am so glad.

I was happy to hear that the repairs on the truck weren't too expensive. It's too bad you still had to spend the money to repair it, but it could have been worse.

Best of luck to Josh and his procedure. I will keep him in my thoughts tomorrow.

How is the ingrown toenail? Is it still hurting her?

Good luck getting all your things completed.

My apologies for making this a short post again this morning.

We were able to make it out of the lake in record time yesterday - as a matter of fact, we were on the road 10 minutes before the earliest time I'd set. :woohoo:

But before we left, we had to do something very important... We saved this 2x4 from the old cabin - it's recorded the heights of Josh's family throughout the years and throughout the generations... Josh is on there as a child, and so is his Dad... Plus countless cousins and other relatives and even pets... It's a cool thing. It's so full - as you can see - we had to wrap the girls' (and their generation's) heights around to the side of everyone else's.

20140713_104859.jpg

So, it was time to put the girls up and see how they've grown...

20140713_104823.jpg

It was quite hyserical to see that Alli only has about a half inch to go to catch Josh's last recorded height in 1985.

20140713_104756.jpg

And V is right behind her. :thumbsup2

Of course - mine hasn't changed... Well, my family insists I've gotten shorter, but I have no plans of finding out. :rolleyes1

We had a safe and uneventful trip to my Dad's. He is packed and ready to go now, with a short list of last minute additions.

We faught traffic the rest of the way home... My brakes started making a funky noise too... So, I need to get my car in for brakes in the next few days. I knew I needed them fairly soon - I was hoping to hold out until I have to get new tires before winter, but sadly - I don't think that's going to happen.

Upon arriving home, we emptied the "almost just as packed car"... Put away the cooloer items and groceries...

I made a quick dinner of some leftovers we brought home from the lake.

Then I ripped into my mail...

:woohoo: :rolleyes1

I had a few packages waiting for me...

First was some awesome Pixie Dust from Nini... OK - so several months ago (and many times previous to that) she was telling me about these "Ebags packing cubes" - I remember asking her about them, then promptly forgetting all about it... Well, the sweetie that she is - she ordered one for each of the girls and I... These are super cool! I am actually contimplating ordering another set, because I think these will work great in our luggage. I am very anxious to get moving on our packing! Thank you so much Nini - I will be sure to get pictures of them in use!

20140713_191300.jpg

Then, my Donald shoes came from Terri! WHOOT! Please excuse my messy sewing room carpet - I can vacuum a bazillion times a week, and it's just never ending... Anyways - these turned out FANTASTIC!!! I am super excited to be able to show them to you with my outfits - but I am still waiting for a few more pieces to arrive. :rolleyes1 However, I did end up makng the bow for the shoes last night and sewing it on... They are so cute - and even Alli said so... Which means they REALLY ARE cute! :wizard: And V hinted that she wants a pair too... I asked her if she was paying for them, she said no, so I told her no. LOL

Anyways - Adorbs - right?

20140713_191556.jpg

I did not get a picture after I added the bow - my phone died. I will try to get one later today.

So, after I was done with the Donald shoes, it was still early... So I started working on my first park bag...

Yup - I finished it last night... :woohoo: So happy about that! Now, I need to get V up there to finish the 'Ohana bag.

Sadly, I cannot show you this bag and outfit yet either... Well, I can - I do have all the pieces to this one... but I don't have all the pieces to all the others, so if I show you this one, you will have to wait weeks to see the others... So, rather than having a big break between all of them, I've opted to wait and show you all of them at the same time. They promise to be SUPER COOL though - I am very excited this year, as I am doing a cross between Disneybounding and my own style. :wizard:

I hope to start with my FP+ list tomorrow too... I woke late this morning, and we are supposed to leave in an hour to get Josh's truck... Our day will just snowball from there.

I hope you all have an amazing day today... Sending out prayers and Pixie Dust to all... And praying for little Charlotte today, as well. :grouphug:

D~

Prayers being said for Josh today. I love the Donald shoes. I wish I could wear that type of shoe, but I just can't any more. Woohoo on finishing your first bag!

So glad you all had a wonderful week at the lake, but it sounds like you hit the ground running when you got home. :faint:

Donald shoes are so cute. :thumbsup2

My girls headed out this morning for youth camp. I found it hilarious to see the difference in their personalities just by the number of bags they each were taking. I believe it is safe to say that Charity is an extreme overpacker! :crazy2: :rotfl2:

Glad you're home and were able to get your bag completed! Glad you got your Dad all squared away.

Those bags from Nini look awesome!! What a sweetie she is. Also, the shoes Terri did…perfection! Can't wait to see the entire outfit. You'll be "showing your Disney side" in real style, that'f for sure!

Josh will go onto my prayer list for his procedure and of course little Charlotte is already there. I think her mama may need prayers more than Charlotte, bless her heart. It's always harder on us than our kids I think.

I know you'll get lots done now that you're home. Have a wonderful day!

Looks like you had an amazing week!! Love family time!!!
Glad your home safe and can get back to working in your sewing room.
and i've missed you!!!!

Love ya!

Mean it!!!

Yay for being home and having packages. I bought the packing cubes last year. A different set for each of us. I was paranoid about us getting to WDW and a suitcase not making it and someone not having any clothes. So, we packed 2 outfits in each and so every suitcase had 3 extra packing cubes. It worked great, but hard to explain. Luckily all of our suitcases made it. Those packing cubes have been to Ireland and Disneyland. They really make packing a breeze, plus we could unpack our suitcases easily. My kids even use them for overnight trips. The larger ones are big enough to put a change of clothes and pj in plus toiletries. Much better than the plastic grocery bag Jacob used to use. We love them. Although, they didn't have the patterns when we bought ours. We just have solid ones.

Love the Donald shoes.

Do you have APs Cindy?

Thanks - I will let you know... I think BFF is shipping Mountain Dew to the resort... She can't live with out it. :confused3

D~

We have season passes which come back into use on 08/15/2014. Not sure if you are going to be here before that or not. Are you all going to do any time at DTD? If so that's always an option too!

Glad you all made it back safe from the lake, it looks like you all had a blast! (even if MM did get stinky).

Your new Donald shoes are adorable, can't wait to see the rest of the outfits!

So glad you made it home safe and sound, hope all goes well for Josh!! Gotta say I love those Donald shoes, Terrie is so talented. Oh you are too of course with all your bags, just love them. Disney is coming so fast for you now........and you will be able to see the frozen stuff!!

Sending prayers for Joshs' procedure. Glad you are all home safe and sound and have your dad set for his trip.

So glad you had safe travels and you are home safe and sound.

I hope everything went well for Josh today.

So happy you got a bag finished! :cool1: That is one thing off your plate - and only nine thousand, nine hundred, ninety-nine more things to finish :lmao:

Those shoes are ADORABLE! Did Terri paint them or is that something else she decorated them with? You will be 'stylin' for sure!

Can't wait to see all your new goodies!
