It would have been nice of Suncountry.com to mail the new itinerary to you when they switched your flight like that. I am always nervous when the communications are by email or phone only. We had our non-stop flight to Hawaii cancelled and re-booked as as a one stop flight, which was frustrating. But for you to have the day changed without giving you proper notice is unacceptable. Will they refund your money?
Have a great time in Chicago. It is supposed to be pretty good weather here.
I agree... I think that sending a letter would have been a nice follow-up. Still a little annoyed about the whole thing, but I am just happy I am still able to go. They will be refunding my $$ (including the baggage fees I had just paid), so that helps with the cost of the other ticket a little bit, but not much. LOL
Such a bummer about your Hawaii trip - I hope it went well despite that.
Thank you! I am very excited about it!
OMGoodness~ What a CRAZY fiasco with your Chicago flights!!! So glad Josh was so sympathetic and understanding. Glad you got it worked out! See, I would just be super excited to get there two hours earlier, not stressed about it. You are such a hard worker, D~...ENJOY your time with the girls!!!!
Hi Oopsi!!! So sorry I've fallen awful behind on your PTR... I am almost done with these bags, so hopefully I can catch up everywhere soon.
Yes, very happy that we were able to get it worked out, and I am happy that I am getting there earlier. It's going to be a blast!
I cannot wait to see Suzi and Mo again, and to finally meet Tess - it's going to be a great weekend!

One of these days - I hope you'll join us.
I can't wait to see all the auction bags.
I can understand that you got stressed when you noticed that your flight was changed. I would freak out if that happened to me without me noticing it until a few days before my flight.
I'm glad it worked out in the end even if the ticket price was a lot more than you first planned.
Have a great trip
Thanks Lillian... Yes, the extra cost of the ticket is really going to hurt my trip budget in the end... I'll just have to be careful and order hamburgers (sans bun) instead of steak.
Gosh a lot has happend this weekend for you!
Loved your Dad's adorable Garden!!!
THankfully i keep up with you on a daily basis otherwise i would have been lost here!!!
Tomorrow BABY!!!! it's ON!
Thanks Mo!!!!!!!! So friggin' excited to see you TODAY!!!!!!!!!! Words cannot even begin to express my excitement!
Hey there D - your garden sounds awesome!! We have a ton of deer where we live, I can't even plant flowers; they eat everything; its so depressing; the HO rules state that you can't shoot the deer, so they have multiplied like crazy in the 18 years we have been there; so, no fresh veggie garden or flowers for me.
Yikes!!! That is such a bummer... I cannot imagine if our deer population wasn't hunted...
We always fly Southwest whenever we can; free bags! And their service is great; believe or not we have a very small airport here in San Antonio; no Jet Blue, no Virgin, and I will not fly American no matter what (long story); I can't believe they did not email you and let you of the changes; it is so frustrating to pay full price for airfare; I feel your pain; but, YOU ARE LEAVING TOMORROW!!! How exciting!!!! And yes, we want lots of pics.
This is good to hear... I am still a little confused about the "blue boarding pass" and what to do with my checked luggage, seeing as I printed off my boarding pass (it's NOT blue) last night... I think I still go to the ticketing counter to check my bag?
I love the pics of your Dad; his garden plot will keep him busy, I glad he was picked! His card is in the mail; I am a little worried about his fogginess; I hope he is just tired and needs rest; please keep us informed.
Thank you... I am still a little concerned about his fogginess too... He seems to be getting better and better every time I talk to him - but it's taking much longer than I thought it would.

I will keep you informed.
My road trip; we have a lot of points on our travel credit card, so we splurged; we are flying to San Francisco the evening of Shane's graduation; spend a day as a tourist in San Francisco; then on the road to Nevada to see Hoover Dam; then Capitol Reef, Bryce Canyon and Zion Park in Utah; then the north side of Grand Canyon, on to Sedona, Arizona; then flying out of Phoenix back to home; all in 8 days; whew.
This sounds like such a fun trip! I've always wanted to see the Hoover Dam! And it will be good for all of you to be together and having fun.
Good luck with errands and packing and tying up loose ends in your sewing room!!!
Hugs and prayers!! Carol
Thank you Carol - same to you!
So excited for Chicago tomorrow for you guys! I can't believe they changed your flight without telling you. Well, I can, it's happened to us before, but it still amazes me that airlines think it is remotely ok to change a flight without notifying you.
Thanks Jennifer! Me too! Well, according to them, they tried to tell me - but I didn't get the message. Sigh... Oh well. I've flown with Sun Country countless times, and this has never happened before, so it wasn't something I was watching for (where if it was Air Tran, I would...) - I will be watching for it in the future, for sure.
I am jealous of your garden. I always say I'd like to plant one but it just seems so daunting that I always put it off until it's too late.
You are welcome to come and weed it any time you'd like. LOL
The girls and I enjoyed some time with my parents on Sunday. Then yesterday DH and I took the girls to the Alligator Farm. We got home and I made fajitas - which were amazing! I didn't get near enough stuff done around the house this weekend but we did manage to have fun each and every day so that was nice.
Sounds like a lot of fun! And I love fajitas - one of my favorite!
This morning I had to take Charlotte for her ear re-check - no infection but she still has fluid in her ear. So we'll be going for an ENT consult in the next couple of weeks - I'm just waiting to hear back from some friends on their experience with the 2 ENTs my doctor referred so we can make a decision. The pediatrician said if Charlotte doesn't have fluid in her ears we when see the ENT, we can hold off on the tubes. Fingers crossed for that! I know tubes aren't that big of a deal but I really don't want to put her through it.
I'm sorry your dad still seems off - hope he bounces back soon!
Thank you... I really hope that Charlotte's ears are clear when you visit the ENT. Please keep me updated.
Your daddy is so cute by his garden! What is wrong with those people where he lives and the hospital? You have every right to be flaming mad at them, not trying to contact you several times was unacceptable.
Thanks Cindy... I totally agree... I would rather have had 5 phone calls to find out if I'd received the previous phone calls, than none at all. I am still really angry about it.
Can't wait to see pictures from your Chicago trip! Love this city, so much to do. One of my brothers lives there and used to spend alot of time there around the holidays.
Thanks!!! I am very excited to finally see it, rather than just drive through.
We love southwest, its layed back and usually alot of fun. Good call on getting an upgrade to business class, its worth it. Free drink and not use it?? Unheard of!
LOL - well, one drink would do me in for the rest of the day... and I don't want to risk passing out at dinner with the girls - they wouldn't be too happy with me. LOL
I'm getting excited about the auction, really want to seeyou have come up with!
I am just getting excited to be DONE with all these bags, as it is, I have no idea when I am going to find the time to finish the last 2?
Hi! Have a safe trip to Chicago and I hope it works out so that I can meet you Friday!!
Thank you!!! I am very excited to meet you too - I hope it all works out!
Finally caught up after almost two weeks gone!
I was trying to stalk your TR yesterday morning to see if there were any updates from you Lois - I was starting to worry. Glad to see you are OK.
Loved the Mickey bag! So glad you're getting so much done in your sewing room!
Thank you! Yah - I am just not sure when/if I am going to be able to finish these last 2 bags. Sigh... I still have to take ALL of the pictures and write ALL of the auctions - which takes me, at least, a week.
So sorry to hear about your uncle! That is so devastating to watch a loved one go through that! Prayers for him and your entire family.
Thank you... Yesterday's update did look a little promising... All prayers for him are coveted.
And OH MY GOSH!! Your Dad in the hospital and no one contacted you???!!!! Unbelievable! Truly. I'm so glad you gave them a piece of your mind and insisted on all those conditions. That was negligence plain and simple. And the hospital releasing him to
no one?? I'm just shaking my head over that one.
I know... I am still so angry about it! Yes, the hospital put him in a "medi-cab" and sent him back to the assisted living apt. Seriously... I am still so angry about it!
Yay for your trip up to see your dad and the fun you had going the back way: That's something Dan and I would do. I'm glad your Dad was doing okay and hope his being "off" to you will soon go away. And what a wonderful thing to have his own little garden space. That will give him many hours of joy I'm sure.
I hope so too... I will call him again today before I leave for Chicago... And I am sure I will talk to him a few times while I am there too.
A size 12. Wow!! You are doing so great with your new life style. I do hope Alli adopts your way of eating and that it helps her condition. Yay for the dermatologist who set her straight about wheat!!
Yup, a size 12 in most things... It feels good, but I still don't feel like I am "there" yet... I'd like to be down a few more sizes.
I hope she does too, she is still doing pretty good with it.
Tomorrow is the big day!! I know you will have a wonderful time. I hope your flight is a good one. We have flown Southwest a couple of times now and we really do like it. I'm sorry you had that difficulty with the original flight, but so glad it's all worked out and at this time tomorrow you'll be at the airport and almost on your way.
Yup! 12 hours from now, I will be landed in Chicago... I am very excited!
Now, you girls have a fabulous time and try on lots of shoes and eat lots of good things and have lots of laughs together. I wish I could be there too, but am looking forward to hearing all about it and seeing lots of pictures from all of you. Be safe!
Hahaha... We will have a good time - I just know it. And we will be safe, we have Mo with us to protect us.
I of course will continue to pray for your Dad and your uncle.
Thank you - it means a lot to me. I hope you are well Lois and enjoying the grands... Are you still there?
D, just popping in to wish you a wonderful DIS trip when you are here so very soon. I will toast you from Disney World. Please give Suzi, Mo and Dee...and yourself...a hug from me.
Thanks Kathy! I hope you have a wonderful trip too!
Swinging through again. You have some amazing luck - not necessarily GOOD, but amazing.
Hurrah for sensible Suzie!
I've always like SW for short little hops - how long will your flight be?
It's summer camp season here and I've been staring at camp records all day and my brain is fried to a crisp.
I like the idea of a garden: my mom always had gardens when I was growing up (that is how I, as a yankee girl growing up in PA and IN, knew what okra was - don't like it,won't eat it, but I know what it looks like on the plant) So I know how much work they are and I'm just not sure I want to put that much effort into starting one. Considering my track record with multiple attempts to have a pot of mint (that would be 0 for 2 tries) I'm not sure I should try.
Have fun in Chicago and again - waiting in breathless anticipation of pictures!
Hahaha... My flight is only 1.5 hours... So, just a nice little hop. Long enough for me to get into my book, but not long enough for a necessary potty trip on the plane.
Hopefully the summer camp papers go easier for you... That must be a lot of work!
LOL... Maybe mint is hard to grow? I was thinking of trying my luck with a few herbs? I wanted to try mint, but if it's hard... I dunno?
Thank you - Looking forward to sharing our adventures with everyone!
Have fun in Chicago. I can't believe they switched your flight without telling you. What happened to called people on the phone or sending a letter in the mail?
Liz
Thanks Liz... They said they tried to call me and leave a message... I didn't get one though.

Unless they tried to call the landline - which is constantly hooked up to a fax machine - in which case, they couldn't leave a message...

Just happy it's all worked out and I am going to arrive on time.
**********************************************************
Yesterday was crazy! Much crazier than I wanted it to be, that's for sure.
I worked out right away - so that was out of the way for the day.
Then I went up to my sewing room, but I didn't work on my next auction bag...

I had another little project I had to finish.
I had a nail appointment at 12:30 and a hair appt at 2:00... Perfect.
Except the nail appointment was pushed back, so it didn't start until 1...

And it took F-O-R-E-V-E-R... At 1:30, he was still painting my toes, so I had to text my stylist and tell her I'd be late. Sigh.
Finally - at 2:15, my nails were done... And they were cute! Matt always does a fabulous job on them!
So, I RAN to my hair appointment. As usual - she did a fantastic job... However, I really wanted it LIGHTER for summer... And it turned out WAAAAY DARKER - it's more my winter/Holiday color... Kind of bummed about that. Don't get me wrong, it's pretty - it's just dark. So, I am not sure I am as happy with it as I would have been?
Sorry, no hair pictures... Maybe later today, if I do any live updates.
Then, I came home... Josh was making dinner... Such a nice guy.
Disney update: So, I was on my tablet last night, and one of my Diser friends sent me a PM on FB, telling me that airfare dropped from MSP to MCO... So, I logged on, and sure enough - it did!

I momentarily freaked out, called BFF (3 times, she wasn't answering... sigh) - finally she called me back. I got her OK to book it - so I did! Woohoo!!!!!!!!! So... at this point - we are definitely flying to Disney.
Buying airfare always makes me soooo nervous... It's at the point when you buy airfare that there is NO backing out - afterall, you do need a place to stay once you get there. So, we have officially entered the "point of no return"...
Thankfully, I am at the tail end of my auction bags, so I am confident that paying off the trip won't be a problem.
Anyways... I hope you all have a wonderful day! Please send some good thoughts to Tess, Suzi and I as we all travel to Chicago today.

I may try to do some live updates later, and I will certainly let you all know when we've made it safe and sound.
Prayers and good thoughts to all!
D~
