Sew much to do, sew little time - but it was worth it! New PTR link posted! ~~~~~~~~~

I could have sworn I posted earlier today, but don't see it. I love ToT. The ride is so smooth and I love that yo-yo feeling. I don't care for Rock n Roller though. We have never done the Toy story meet and greet. After seeing your pictures I think we are going to have to do it!!

Good for you! Conquered the ToT!! I don't know why that just don't let you photo pass those ride photos...$17 is a wee bit nuts!!

Congrats on braving ToT! :) DW has ridden it once and will probably never ride it again. The only reasons she rode it at all was because our young niece and nephew were teasing her.

How disappointing about your server at 50s. I don't get it. I have never eaten there because I don't think any of us would actually enjoy the atmosphere. Now I know I could always go and ask for a "fun" server and get what I wanted.:rotfl: We all enjoy Sci Fi. I stick to burgers and fries. I used to do milk shakes too but now I know that is just too much for me so the last couple of times I've done vanilla cokes instead of a shake. We love the atmosphere there and the burgers are good. I think a lot of the complaints from there are folks who try something else on their menu.

I also don't get why the fast pass lines are so long. You would think if they are forcing folks to go during their 1 hour slot than the lines should be consistently manageable.:confused3 It isn't like everyone is waiting til the end of the day to ride all at one time.

How fun that you tried TOT. I used to hate all thrill rides. Dumbo was about my speed. Then on my oldest DDs first trip when I was about 6 months pregnant with #3 my friend took her on Goofy's Barnstormer. She LOVED it!!! Here was this painfully shy girl who wouldn't talk in preschool enjoying a thrill ride. She's been a thrill ride junkie ever since. So I had to start doing them because her Dad won't do them with her. I actually started to enjoy BTMRR, Test Track, Everest and Space Mountain. Tower of Terror and RnR were still a bit too much for me but the last few trips I've overcome my ToT fear and enjoy that now. It was definately the anticipation that killed me on that one. Last November I did RnR for the first time in about 5 years. I was in the last row. I didn't mind the upside down but my head was really bounced around. I felt like my Mickey earning were going to pop out. I have to conclude that I don't really enjoy it.

My oldest now wants to do the Manta coaster at Seaworld.:scared1: I can't even watch a video of it without feeling queazy. I think at 13 she's old enough to go on by herself.

What a fun day! I'm with you on the knowing we'll be buying a set of ponchos while we're there...

They actually are quite nice ponchos. I could have purchased the $1 store ones before we left - but what fun is that? LOL I did actually roll them up and bring them home with us - and they are definately going on our next trip with us too.

D~ LOVE the latest post!!! Sorry for a quick drive-by post, gotta go get dressed for work!

Hey - thanks for the drive by... I know you've been busy!

I love your ToT picture! You look TERRIFIED!!! It's great! Now you know how I feel. Next time, we'll all have to ride together. Your girls and my DD can toss their hands up in the air, and we'll hold on to each other for dear life. Deal?

Oooh - now that's a deal! Imagine having to explain that picture?

I'm glad that the family who passed you up let you back in line. I have no issues with people passing others up if the queue is say ... empty or so and they're stopping for pictures. But when you aren't going anywhere? Jeebus, take a chill pill and WAIT. Those lines move so slow anyway. Let people snap their pictures.

I know, at first I was so irritated. Then, I thought, well - really - it's only gonna be about 10 minutes longer (it's not like the person in front of us had a Goofy dress on and was meeting Goofy :rolleyes1), and we had FP for the last 2 rides we were planning to ride that day. So, after I thought about it - I didn't care. LOL But it was very nice of them to insist that we take our spots back.

I've always had issues with the TV and/or remote. Every year. Every year I have to call maintenance. Every year they have to fix the TV (it was always the TV, not the remote when it was a remote problem).

This is a bummer. I don't use the remote for anything except the sleep timer - but it was annoying to have to ask one of the girls to get up and set the sleep timer for me. :cool1:

And yes, Starring Rolls does close early. I think it's 4pm?

I should have made note of this in my MP somewhere... Next time.

You are much braver than me! Even before my surgery I would not have been caught dead on ToT! I wouldn't have even gone into the queue!

(dark, tight places and heights do not equal a fun ride for me!)

I've ridden RnR once, way before surgery, and will never have to ride it again!

I have even rode EE once...again, now that I have ridden I will never be expected to again! LOL!

(oddly enough I used to be a thrill junkie! I rode every roller coaster I could find...maybe I finally wised up when I got older...who knows!)

My kids are trying to figure out how they can con Dad into riding ToT with them this trip...since we are going by our self...and Mom will not let them ride by their selves.

I can only imagine with your neck that you really can't ride much - which might be a blessing if you didn't like the rides in the first place - now you have a valid excuse.

I am just glad I rode RnR once - now I can tell them that I for sure don't like it. LOVE EE though... :lovestruc Don't like Space Mountain at all - too dark - too tight.

Some one asked about a lunch spot in DHS...I have never eaten a TS at DHS...but we have been to H&V every rip for the past 5 years. With the exception of this past trip we have loved it. Great food and even greater service. Of course, we have only gone for dinner, so no characters.

Our last trip there was an early dinner...around 3 and the service was terrible and the food was lukewarm... we are going to try Mama Melrose this trip, even though my daughter and her husband said it was terrible last year...

See...no help here what so ever! LOL!

Nini

Yup, I think they need more TS options in DHS. We will probably try Sci Fi next time, but we will be so heartbroken to not be at 50's.

Great trip report! Glad you mustered up enough courage to ride ToT! It's so worth it!

WELCOME!!! Yah - it was fun - in a terrified sort of way. :rotfl2: I was just surprised that I did it at all. Once I was on the elevator, and we had began the ride - I knew there was no turning back. However, my dd made it sound like the ride was really long (Splash Mtn long) and I was super surprised at how very short it was.

Sounds like a great day at DHS. Loved the Toy Story Pictures.

Thanks! For the most part, it was a fun day. It was very hot in the afternoon - and this was one of the few days that we didn't take an afternoon break. I was really getting used to those. :lovestruc

great update! I don't do tower of terror either...maybe one day my kids will make me, but for now, dh is the only one who likes it!

Thanks! Yes, believe it or not, one day your kids will probably make you - because they will be taller and you truly will have no choice in the matter. And, you may even like it. :wizard:

Yay for conquering ToT!!!! DD12 LOVES this ride. When I went on it last year, I had not been on it in so long that my heart was pounding from the not knowing. This year was a cinch. I just "ignore" the story and all the mind games they play and just grabbed the handles and took the ride...just as a ride. Up and down, up and down. It didn't bother me at all.

Yah - I didn't let go of the handles the whole time either. I think the girls had to pry my hands off at the end of the ride. The guy sitting next to Allison - who was a much older gentleman - was laughing hysterically at me... Which made me feel better. Seriously, it did. If he was able to do this ride - why couldn't I? LOL

DD12 made me smile. She doesn't really get worked up about much. But I noticed this time that she lets the story get her scared and then with all the ups and downs, ins and outs she was breathless and her heart was pounding to beat the band by the time we came off it. And she had the BIGGEST smile on her face ever as she went on and on about how awesome and fun it was. It was a really neat moment for me...oh to be young again when everything is so adventurous and exciting.

I bet that was neat... Honestly, I don't remember even hearing the story - LOL I was too busy hanging on. :rolleyes1

So mixed reviews about H&V...I have put the Cape May buffet on my wish list for next year. It could be on Epcot day or DHS day...

I think CM would be easier on an Epcot Day, but it wouldn't be that bad on a DHS day either - just as long as you know that total travel time will probably be an hour +.

Love the photos in line for Buzz and Woody. We didn't try to see them because the line was too long and we were headed to the stunt car show. I chuckled at your picture of TSM scores! We had the same score! :lmao: This was our first time on it and we loved it! I was so hoping you rode ToT! I rode it in 2008 and I was going to ride it again but my BIL wanted to ride it too, so I ended up taking the 3 kids with me to get FP for TSM. DH said it was worth it to take his brother as he screamed like a little girl the entire way down! He said it was even better than my reaction in 2008. (Nope, not gonna tell you what I did. Can't make me.) Can't wait to see your now and then pictures!

LOL - Great score, huh? We love TSM - but I am so uncoordinated that pulling on the pull string doesn't work well for me, and my hand/arm gets so tired by the end. I prefer the trigger of BLSRS - however - then there's my problem of aiming. :confused3

LOL about DH's brother. I won't make you tell me your reaction - but some of the others here might. LOL

So glad you went on the ToT.

Looks like you had a fun day.

We did have a great day!

I could have sworn I posted earlier today, but don't see it. I love ToT. The ride is so smooth and I love that yo-yo feeling. I don't care for Rock n Roller though. We have never done the Toy story meet and greet. After seeing your pictures I think we are going to have to do it!!

Oh, you should do the meet n' greet - I bet Ani would love it! :lovestruc

Good for you! Conquered the ToT!! I don't know why that just don't let you photo pass those ride photos...$17 is a wee bit nuts!!

That system is coming - according to the PP gal I talked to at the Poly - they were being trained on it while we were there... It's spendy - I think it's $170 for prepurchasing the CD with that option, but you can put all of your ride photos on it. Honestly, by the time I purchased our picture from one of our character meals, and if I would have purchased our ToT ride photo, it would have been close to the same cost, and I would love to have good quality ride photos.

Congrats on braving ToT! DW has ridden it once and will probably never ride it again. The only reasons she rode it at all was because our young niece and nephew were teasing her.

Thanks! After I rode it - I actually liked it - much better than RnR, that's for sure. Hopefully your DW will ride it again someday - probably when your dd is much older and she talks her into it.

How disappointing about your server at 50s. I don't get it. I have never eaten there because I don't think any of us would actually enjoy the atmosphere. Now I know I could always go and ask for a "fun" server and get what I wanted. We all enjoy Sci Fi. I stick to burgers and fries. I think a lot of the complaints from there are folks who try something else on their menu.

So, if we go to SciFi - we should stick to the burgers?

I also don't get why the fast pass lines are so long. You would think if they are forcing folks to go during their 1 hour slot than the lines should be consistently manageable. It isn't like everyone is waiting til the end of the day to ride all at one time.

I am not sure either. It's super annoying, because some of the FP lines were as long as the standby lines, they did move faster though - but still... it was super annoying.

How fun that you tried TOT. I used to hate all thrill rides. Dumbo was about my speed. Then on my oldest DDs first trip when I was about 6 months pregnant with #3 my friend took her on Goofy's Barnstormer. She LOVED it!!! I felt like my Mickey earning were going to pop out. I have to conclude that I don't really enjoy it.

That is a cute story! Yah - that's one of the reasons I don't like RnR... Too much head bouncing.

My oldest now wants to do the Manta coaster at Seaworld. I can't even watch a video of it without feeling queazy. I think at 13 she's old enough to go on by herself.

Yah 13 is a perfect age to start riding on their own.

Again - I have to work today... So, no playing in my sewing room. So sad. Which also means I will have to work very hard this week to catch up in there. I have a big project I've been working one, and trying to do some little ones in between... It's been a bit crazy!

Max has his good days and bad days. Some times I think he "gets it" and others I don't. :confused3 He does love the sprinkler though - it's so funny!

I am going to try and do a Now n' Then update this morning before I go to work. :wizard:

Apparently on BLSRS once you get the high score you can't play anymore. I do NOT speak from experience -- my sister said her boyfriend reached the high score half way through the ride and then you can't play anymore (he was a sharpshooter in the army over 40 years ago!).

Love you pics :)

My kids didn't want to see Buzz at DHS which made me a bit sad, but I did the trip for them so let them decide.

D love your latest update. Hey when I get back I am going to email you about doing a bag for C for her birthday in October :)

Hurray for conquering your fears, living to tell about it, and discovering you even LIKED some of it! :thumbsup2

I so enjoy reading your trip reports. And I am itching to see what all you have been working on.

I also wanted to say "THANK YOU!" for weighing in on your gift card experience that I asked about at the beginning of your TR. I am a much better lurker than I am a poster, but I am grateful for your review! :goodvibes

And I think that your experience so far with Max is par for the course: Dogs have good days and bad days. He will get it. Just hang in there and invest in some good carpet cleaner until then!

UGH! Just typed a long message/story and lost it! Anyway, I'm still here and still LOVING the TR. . .I've just been stalking lately:)

Short Version of lost post. . .Whipering Canyon at Wilderness Lodge server did the same thing! If you ask for it, they should go so far over the top that you'll never ask again; everyone else should just get the "lightweight" version. Just sayin'. . .this is Disney. . .the rebellious servers need to be removed. . .maybe a counter service restaurant would be just right!:rotfl2:

I love your then and now pics! I must do that with dd for our next trip. Problem is I really don't have tons of great pics of her from our trip -- the only good pics were when dh wasn't around being grumpy and I had time to snap photos. You, on the other hand, have some fabulous photos!

I just noticed the girls shirts -- too cute -- and yes, I'm slow..... but not as slow as the Disboards are tonight! It took forever for my reply window to load!

I'm off to a bath and bed -- I'm sick. I was blaming allergies but it's getting worse that I'm wondering if I have a mild sinus infection. I need to buy stock in Kleenex.

So what day do we have to look forward to next?

My kids didn't want to see Buzz at DHS which made me a bit sad, but I did the trip for them so let them decide.

Interesting about BLSRS... Thankfully, I never have to worry about that. :thumbsup2

I kind of forced the girls in here so I could get the Now n' Then photos that I needed.

D love your latest update. Hey when I get back I am going to email you about doing a bag for C for her birthday in October

Thanks Chiara! Excited to hear about what you have planned for a bag for Miss C. Do you want me to add your name to my master list for September? Right now, I can take one more order in August, then I'll be starting to take orders for Sept. Crazyness!

Hurray for conquering your fears, living to tell about it, and discovering you even LIKED some of it!

IKR... I thought, for sure, I'd die on that ride. And then I thought about it a little bit - and I don't think anyone has died on that ride - so I'd probably be OK? :thumbsup2

I so enjoy reading your trip reports. And I am itching to see what all you have been working on.

I know - I am super excited to show you all, and I wish I could. But they are super secret items for Disers who may (or may not) lurk here, so I have to keep them hush-hush until they receive them... Trust me, you'll all probably be bombarded with project pictures in the next week or so. :surfweb: Despite the fact that it appears I am slackin' - I'm really not. :rotfl2:

I also wanted to say "THANK YOU!" for weighing in on your gift card experience that I asked about at the beginning of your TR. I am a much better lurker than I am a poster, but I am grateful for your review!

You're welcome! :thumbsup2 Yah - they are a great thing (especially if you have a Target debit card and can get 5% off :cool1:)... That and keeping track of them was sometimes tough, but it worked out in the end. :lovestruc

And I think that your experience so far with Max is par for the course: Dogs have good days and bad days. He will get it. Just hang in there and invest in some good carpet cleaner until then!

Sunshine

ACK!!! Thanks... I look forward to the days of no carpet cleaner. :rolleyes1 For the most part, he is confined to the kitchen area - so if he has any accidents, they are very easy to clean up. The only time he is allowed in the livingroom (carpeted) is if we are all in there... Which, coincidentially, does not mean that we are all watching him.

UGH! Just typed a long message/story and lost it! Anyway, I'm still here and still LOVING the TR. . .I've just been stalking lately

I hate it when that happens.

Short Version of lost post. . .Whipering Canyon at Wilderness Lodge server did the same thing! Just sayin'. . .this is Disney. . .the rebellious servers need to be removed. . .maybe a counter service restaurant would be just right!:rotfl2:

Are you serious??? You would think that they would be nicer at 50's... I was actually thinking of dong WC on our next trip (I really wanted to squeeze it in on this trip...). I think the secret is, to play dumb. Next trip - I am not gonna request a thing - if they ask if we've eaten there, I'll just say no. :thumbsup2

I love your then and now pics! I must do that with dd for our next trip. Problem is I really don't have tons of great pics of her from our trip -- the only good pics were when dh wasn't around being grumpy and I had time to snap photos. You, on the other hand, have some fabulous photos!

Just make due with the ones you do have. You can always make a point of it on the next trip. I was kind of surprised at how many I had between our 2008 and 2012 trips. On our 2003 trip, we were still shooting film - so our pics are crappy and very limited. :rolleyes1

However, there are a few from that first trip at places that I haven't been able to find again, or forget to look for - same difference right? So, I'd really like to seek those out on our next trip... And organize our then and nows from all our previous trips - you should see my Photobucket acct. - it's a hot mess.

I just noticed the girls shirts -- too cute -- and yes, I'm slow..... but not as slow as the Disboards are tonight! It took forever for my reply window to load!

LOL - Alli was the first one to get one... Her's was on clearance at Target for $4.48. Then about a month later, we came across them again, so I splurged on one for V and I - by that time, they were clearanced down to $1.98! :thumbsup2

I'm off to a bath and bed -- I'm sick. I was blaming allergies but it's getting worse that I'm wondering if I have a mild sinus infection. I need to buy stock in Kleenex.

Awwww... I hope you're feeling better soon. I managed to get through the entire winter with out even a cold this year (knock on wood...) :rolleyes1 Not sure how that happened, but I'll take it.

So what day do we have to look forward to next?

Actually - it's the day everyone has been waiting for... Our favorite AK day!

Job rant: I had an awful day at work yesterday. I don't even want to go into details - but I was so angry when I left. And it takes me a lot to get angry. I am not looking forward to going back today, thankfully it's only a 4 hour shift - so hopefully I can hole up in my lab and pretend to be busy. :rolleyes1 Then I have the weekend off. Oh, and to top it off... Probably one of the most frustrating things. Normally, I work 2-3 days per week... This week I was scheduled 4 in a row - which is fine - but they were so kind to schedule me for 3 shifts of 5.5 hours each - which means that I only get one 15 minute break all day long (over a lunch hour, as well) - so I have 15 minutes to shovel hot food into my mouth and rush back to work. It is so frustrating to me - considering - if they scheduled me for 6 hours, I would get a 30 min (unpaid) break, so payroll would cost them the exact same. :scared: It just makes me mad, because they don't have much consideration for their employees, and almost enjoy working them to death... popcorn::

I came home, and just wanted to crash... That didn't happen. You know how we pulled our garage down last fall? Well, with winter and Josh's surgery, we didn't get nearly as much of it cleaned up as we would have hoped. So, on Monday, Josh ordered a dumpster (our yard was finally solid enough to support it), and we've been working on cleaning it up as a family every night - making pretty good progress - but still a lot to do. Josh still can't do much of anything and has very limited ROM in his shoulder. Anyways, after I got home last night, a bunch of neighbors showed up and pitched in to help us clean it up. We had the dumpster almost full in about an hour! It was amazing and wonderful. If we would have been left to finish it on our own - it probably would have taken a few more weeks. We have some amazing neighbors! I am so thankful that we live in a community where everyone helps everyone out. :lovestruc

Also, I know some of you wanted a Josh update... He has been doing pretty well. He still experiences pain. He also still has very limited ROM, he can't lift his arm above his shoulder at all, and he can't lift any ammt. of weight with that arm either. His incision is almost completely healed, there is just a little spot that still scabbed over, but it's not a deep scab or anything. We are still not sure if he will ever be able to use his left arm for much of anything. He will start PT in the next couple of months - and they might be able to help with some of his ROM and strength.

I've been working on a fun project, in my sewing room, as time permits this week - I can't wait to show you all... Again, it will be a while. popcorn::

I also have a really fun one scheduled for next week that I can't wait to dive into. :lovestruc

I better go check in on all the TRs/PTRs I've been neglecting this week... Have a great day everyone! :lovestruc

D~

Interesting about BLSRS... Thankfully, I never have to worry about that. :thumbsup2

I surely didn't have to worry about it either!

Thanks Chiara! Excited to hear about what you have planned for a bag for Miss C. Do you want me to add your name to my master list for September? Right now, I can take one more order in August, then I'll be starting to take orders for Sept. Crazyness!
Crazy yes! But awesome too! And not surprising. Disney is going to be inundated with your UPBs! So do you make AG dresses anymore? The nice thing about both of your major creations is one size fits all. That's why I like making totes for gifts.

IKR... I thought, for sure, I'd die on that ride. And then I thought about it a little bit - and I don't think anyone has died on that ride - so I'd probably be OK? :thumbsup2
:rotfl: I think deaths on that ride are a well kept Disney secret :rotfl:

I know - I am super excited to show you all, and I wish I could. But they are super secret items for Disers who may (or may not) lurk here, so I have to keep them hush-hush until they receive them... Trust me, you'll all probably be bombarded with project pictures in the next week or so. :surfweb: Despite the fact that it appears I am slackin' - I'm really not. :rotfl2:
I'm excited to see the photos. I hope some people want some things you haven't done yet -- I always like seeing the new things you come up with. Do you have anyone requesting non-Disney?

ACK!!!
I'd like to look forward to the days of no carpet cleaner too, but then that would all my pets would be dead and I don't look forward to that. My little girl still wees in the house (at almost three years old!!!) and our 16 year old cat pukes everywhere. 6 is a good age -- our 6 year old cat is nonproblematic.

Just make due with the ones you do have. You can always make a point of it on the next trip. I was kind of surprised at how many I had between our 2008 and 2012 trips. On our 2003 trip, we were still shooting film - so our pics are crappy and very limited. :rolleyes1
Half the problem was we only had 5 park days and the other half was Grumpy. We barely spent any time at DHS and we barely spent time at the world showcase either. All our time in Epcot was spent riding Nemo over and over and over again -- the cm started sending us to the handicap entrance.

However, there are a few from that first trip at places that I haven't been able to find again, or forget to look for - same difference right? So, I'd really like to seek those out on our next trip... And organize our then and nows from all our previous trips - you should see my Photobucket acct. - it's a hot mess. I thought all photobucket accounts were supposed to be a hot mess :confused3

LOL - Alli was the first one to get one... Her's was on clearance at Target for $4.48. Then about a month later, we came across them again, so I splurged on one for V and I - by that time, they were clearanced down to $1.98! :thumbsup2 And don't forget your employee discount from working at the greatest store on earth!

Awwww... I hope you're feeling better soon. I managed to get through the entire winter with out even a cold this year (knock on wood...) :rolleyes1 Not sure how that happened, but I'll take it.I haven't had any colds either -- thought this was allergies but it seems even worse. I walk around the house carrying a box of tissues.

Actually - it's the day everyone has been waiting for... Our favorite AK day! :banana:YAY!

:scared: It just makes me mad, because they don't have much consideration for their employees, and almost enjoy working them to death... popcorn::
Hmmm, this does not sound like the greatest store on earth after all. Enjoy your speedy lunch!

:lovestruc
Cool neighbors! Our neighbors here are garbage for the most part. We have a couple of nice ones, but we have some oddballs too. Way more oddballs than normal folks. We are like a melting pot here. I like dour neighbors in RI a thousand times better. People were so much nicer up there in general.

I'm surprised they didn't start pt sooner. Hopefully it will make a difference.

I've been working on a fun project, in my sewing room, as time permits this week - I can't wait to show you all... Again, it will be a while. popcorn::
*:surfweb:*

I also have a really fun one scheduled for next week that I can't wait to dive into. :lovestruc

I better go check in on all the TRs/PTRs I've been neglecting this week... Have a great day everyone! :lovestruc

D~
Have a great day despite working -- 5.5 hours isn't bad -- I work a full day tomorrow and on Monday I work 10.5 hours. I do get a lunch break, but my boss crams my schedule so tight that I get behind, so my lunch hour isn't always an hour. She wants to get her money's worth out of me -- and does!!!

Today I am getting my hair done (my old hair dresser came back into town -- I'm so happy b/c he's at least $50 cheaper for a cut and color than anyone else and he does a good job) and I need to go Easter basket shopping for the kids. I also have a shirt to embroider for a gift for my sister's boyfriend's grandson but I can't find a 4T in the color I want -- will see if Kmart has something. Problem is dh bought dd some things for her basket as did I already and I have to figure out monetarily what he bought so I can match things up for ds. DS wants the Chugginton round house -- which is a mere $100 -- and ds is 10 years old and I can't imagine him playing with it much at all -- he still plays with his wooden train stuff periodically, but he is really at the age where he's outgrowing them and I hate to throw $100 into something like that -- but he really wants it. I'm at a loss. I will save all his Thomas stuff for his kids b/c we have thousands invested into it, but still not intersted in adding this to the collection. :headache:

Funny thing about neighbors....we tend to completely ignore most of ours. We know a few by sight, the ones on each side of us, the two across the street. The rest, not so much.

We have lived in our subdivision (notice I did NOT call it a neighborhood!) since it was first built a little over 9 years ago. Only a small hand full are still the original neighbors. They are the ones that saw the accident, the ones that couldn't get in or out of the subdivision for several hours until it was cleared up. They are the ones that drove the hour plus to the hospital to check on us (based solely on the information on the side of the ambulance) Some of them made it to the hospital before we did.

During those dark weeks they fed my husband, kept the lawn looking nice and dropped off gift baskets for my daughter.

Slowly they moved away....and stopped coming by. The only time we speak to any of our neighbors now is when they have a problem...they see a police car parked in the driveway and come over with their problems for my husband to fix...

It really is sad. But I guess I can't complain...I haven't been much of a neighbor to them either.....

D~ enjoy your great neighbors...they are a commodity that makes you have a neighborhood instead of a subdivision...I am very jealous right now!

Nini <------------- who is seriously trying to decide if I think I could carry one of your bags....(and might order one just because I love them...not that I would ever do anything like that...)

what a great idea for the then and now pictures. I'm going to look through old photos and try to do the same on our next trip. Thanks so much for the idea.

We live in a subdivision too!

In RI we had a neighborhood. When my DH was in Kuwait I had so many neighbors offer to help if I needed anything. One saw me raking leaves one day and brought his riding mower over with a leaf pick up attachment and did our entire lawn for me. Another set invited the kids and I to her parents house for Thanksgiving dinner. Our other neighbor kept our keys and helped our tenants get settled in to the house. People up in New England are just nice.

Down here we have people from all over and a lot of people who feel they are entitled to the good life. It's not the same. And my nicest neighbor turned on me so I just give up. We have a couple sets of neighbors I could call on for help -- one has a little girl that plays with my dd all the time so while we are not great friends, we are very friendly and they are very sweet. And one teaches my dd piano and they are as kind as can be -- though I'm not in love with the friends of their teens that come speeding through the neighborhood.

I just had to call the police yesterday -- we have two cars that park on the street that seem to be sharing a license plate and someone periodically sleeps in one of the cars. No idea if that's illegal or not, but I think sharing tags is not allowed. It appears nothing was done about the situation. In the afternoon the tags were still on the suv and then later when I walked my dogs the tags were on the van. Thankfully these people live around the corner and I can't see their house from mine. We live in a very nice neighborhood too so why we get these strange things going on is beyond me. Too much new money! Next time I'll call your dh Nini!!!

Thanks Chiara! Excited to hear about what you have planned for a bag for Miss C. Do you want me to add your name to my master list for September? Right now, I can take one more order in August, then I'll be starting to take orders for Sept. Crazyness!

Sound like you are making enough bags to have another Disney trip pretty soon or to be able to stay home and not work at "the place that gives no lunch"......

:thumbsup2

LOL - Alli was the first one to get one... Her's was on clearance at Target for $4.48. Then about a month later, we came across them again, so I splurged on one for V and I - by that time, they were clearanced down to $1.98! :thumbsup2

I forgot to comment yesterday about the 50's PT ridiculousness. I can't BELIEVE your server did that to you! I absolutely would have asked to see their manager on duty. "Lecturing" a customer on something they requested is completely unacceptable. I get that the servers don't have to do every little thing that you ask, but they are paid to PREFORM, and if they don't want to, then they should just not without giving you lip. /rantover

Sorry, I think most of us are a little more heated up about it than YOU seemed to be!

I am so jealous of the deals you scored on the alien shirts! Those are SO CUTE!! I cannot WAIT to hear about your AK day.

AND sorry you had a crummy day at work yesterday. Hopefully today is much better and then you will have some nice time off and come back refreshed.

That is SO AMAZING about your neighbors chipping in and helping you all clean up the building mess! And I'll be praying that PT helps your DH regain more use of his arm.
