Sew much to do, sew little time - but it was worth it! New PTR link posted! ~~~~~~~~~

Hmm. . . D~ Thanksgiving is a fabulous time to go (3rd lowest crowd levels of the year) . . . We could do MVMCP instead of MNSSHP???

that's what we are planning on doing! so come on ladies go at Thanksgiving....ppppllllllleeeeeaaaasssseeeee :lmao:
Of course, DH said yesterday that he thinks we should go back Jan 2013 and he'll do part of the week at the PGA show (for work) . . . this from the man that said he thought we should wait another 3 years before going to WDW again.

we loved going to the Golf convention, miss seeing all our friends from the many jobs Jim worked on

For anyone that went in search of an update to my TR, I apologize. I got 2 more pages completed for my next update and when I went to save the 3rd (luckily I save each page as I finish it) page my computer said it was full and wouldn't save it :scared1: So - Genius Bar appointment was quickly made and after dropping Finn at preschool Phalen & I wound our way across Charlotte (there was a fatality wreck in our part of town that had traffic all kinds of messed up, so we had to take a very round about way to get to the Apple Store). Phalen jumped on one of the "kid" computers while I sat down to nurse my cup of coffee and wait on my Genius to come to my aide. Next thing I knew Phalen had 3 Apple Geniuses standing around him with looks of shock and awe on their faces. I heard one ask him how old he was and the looks of shock and awe increased as he answered "7." He was playing JumpStart Math Blaster and blasted his way through 7 levels of math problems. The last two I saw were multiplication problems.
Anyway, the nice Apple Genius was able to help me find some things I can erase forever off my laptop to free up a little space, but he told me I basically only have a little under a year until Apple considers my computer "Vintage" (it was purchased in March of 2008 and after 5 years they're considered vintage and they don't make parts any more). :scared1:
Thankfully, my Dad has finally seen the light and realized he does NOT need a macbook because all he ever does is boot his macbook on his Windows partition side and is willing to trade me mine (which was his originally until he upgraded) for his. My mom will actually do the exchange on the 31st when we meet her in Elon for the weekend. Phew! Coming up with money for a new macbook was NOT going to happen.

So - update to my TR - I have to erase stuff still and then I should be good to go on the last couple of pages I need for my next update. Sorry it's taking so long, but I can't post the next bit until I have all its pages done (It's Finn's Pirate's League, etc. portion of our trip).

bummer about your computer, nice you get your Dad's though!
way to go Phalen :woohoo: smart little man you are!

INNOCENT!!!!! I am INNOCENT!!!!

:rolleyes1:rolleyes1:rolleyes1

You, my dear are NEVER innocent! :lmao::lmao:

The JOYS of a homeschooled child!!!! YEA for Phalen!!! AND Mom!!!!!

Yes, Yes it is....that is why we LOVE her!!!

I feel your pain D~ But at least you know you are loved too! I am SO far behind on EVERYTHING, but had to tell you how much I am enjoying the updates and when you are done will you write mine???? You are gong to finish before I get to day 4 at this rate!

As everyone else has said, you have an amazing vet who did that for you, to have Rufus' paw print forever, how much I KNOW that meant to you! As I said, Max is adorable...he will come around. Rachel told me to tell you VERY frequent bathroom breaks while you are home (at least every hour), keep him in a very small area (some use a crate, we didn't, just his little area in the kitchen), LOTS of praise of course (the easiest part), vinegar on his accidents and LOTS ( and LOTS) of patience!

I know you miss Rufus, he was your first dog...but just like children, your love for one, will not diminish your love for two, as you know.
Judy...who is HOPELESSLY behind....

no sucking up to Andrea Judy :rotfl:

Judy no explaining is needed about your TR, you've had way to many things on your plate

Part of the problem, is some how, I think he got trained to go indoors. I know that sounds weird - but we can have him outside for an hour - and we bring him in the house - he'll immediately pee. I am tempted to bleach all my floors this morning, and hopefully remove any smell. Since you told me that you use bleach - I switched to cleaning up his puddles with the Clorox clean up.

Yesterday, I caught him using his pee pad as a bed. So, I really don't think he cares that it's soaked in pee?

good luck with the training...sounds like he's going to be a stubborn little boy

I had him on the leash all after noon yesterday - and he refused to go outside. Once Josh let him off of the leash - he went.

I think he has so many confusing potty habits already, and we are going to have a very hard time breaking them.

did you ask the people you got him from what they had done?

THat's awesome that your Max goes in his kennel volunarily... Actually, our Max does too... He naps in there all the time with the door open.

Welcome!!! You haven't missed anything. :) Thank you for your condolances about Rufus - he was an amazing dog. And thanks for the congrats on Max - I will take them - LOL - but I would love him a lot more if he would just potty train.

THank you... Yes, I do think my girls are gorgeous. Although, as I am doing this TR - I am realizing that it is going to mostly be pictures of them, until we get our Photopass pictures back. Since they rarely took the camera from me to get a photo of their dear Mother.

I'm not in many photos either!

We had those jalepeno pretzels twice - they were so good. Even V, who doesn't like spicy food at all (not that these were spicy, but a few bites had some kick) really loved them and begged to have them again on our second AK day.

So sorry about your rainy MK day... must have been the same day as our rainy Epcot day - that was awful! Got good use out of those ponchos though!

I know - I love the empty park! It's the best. It was even better that they let us in with all the 8am ADR people - so we got to take our time and wander around Main Street a bit.

think we need to go to CP on our next trip!

I know, my plate looks super full - but I guarantee that I only took one or two bites of everything there... except maybe the sausage (because that's almost guaranteed that I'll like it) and the egg bake with all the veggies in it - I knew I'd like that one as well.

Actually, our fav from that meal at CP was Pooh's fruit lasagna - numilicous!!!

I would really like the link to this.

Yes, you did miss the verdict on the beignets... actually, I missed posting the verdict. V and I loved them - A loved them at first, but she got sick of them after the first couple of days. I think V and I had them every morning that we had breakfast at the resort.

we loved them too!!!

And yes, we did have Pooh's puffy french toast... THat was actually a toss up favorite to his fruit lasagna... I could have eaten just those items and the sausage with the egg bake thingy and I would have been perfectly fine. I will have to notate that for next time.

Honestly, for next time, I think I need to schedule 2 breakfasts at CP - because that really is the best bf spot, IMO. However, we have yet to get an ADR at CM - so I need to make a point of that too.

Yucko... Sorry that this was so horrible for you. Everything we had there was very delicious.

I agree - I have no idea how people can do the dxddp... I tossed around the idea of adding it to ours, but I am so very glad I didn't - it would have been a total waste. I did end up doing 4 breakfasts oop - but they were so cheap because we had the mugs. I also did do 2 sets of snacks oop - but again - they are fairly cheap too, and they were things we couldn't pass up. But I agee, walking around the parks plump full (I swear that clothing items that fit me when I left, didn't fit me at the end of our trip) was no picnic. However, I wouldn't hesitate doing FD again - it was a great bargain.

it is a lot of food....even the QS one is

OK, good, I thought I'd lost my mind there for a minute (Andrea will probably tell you that I did)...

hey found it :thumbsup2:lmao:

THanks! One of the best things I did for this trip, was that I watched Disney online for when a pin set went on sale, it didn't matter which one - they were just for trading anyways. A set of 7 went on sale for $8.99 (I think??) and I purchased 10 of them... So we had a whole bag of genuine, non-scrap, traders with us... All of us dug into the bag every morning and outfitted ourselves with a bunch, and traded them all for ones that we wanted. So, for less than $100 (Which is a bargain for pins, if you look at the price of them down there) we got a fantastic amout of pins. So, I highly recommend watching DO and getting your traders that way - it's so much cheaper. You can get them on Ebay too, but I really don't recommend it - because it's really had to tell if the seller is selling you a bunch of scrap pins, or the real thing - usually if they are really cheap - it's almost guaranteed that it's the scrappers.

I know, it's just so nice to be able to look at everything with out the pressure of all the crowds around you.

I am pretty sure it's because Andrea, Lisa and Cheryl are so popular and they like to hide out here?

Yay I'm a popular girl :woohoo:

I did give the verdict above in one of Cheryl's quotes. :)

You must try them!

Thanks! I had the camera right in my front slip-in pocket of my UPB, so it was just super easy to grab it out... THe nice thing is that pocket is so deep that I didn't have to worry about losing it, or having it fall out - even on rides. Of course, I always made sure it was waaaay down in there. So, that made picture taking really easy.

Thanks! We loved our tees too - it was so nice of all of my Dis friends to send us some pixie dust - it really added a lot of fun and uniqueness to our trip!

I agree! We had so many people ask us about him, and we were always thrilled to be able to tell them what a fantastic and devoted family member he was.

OK - I've been trying to figure out what this means since I read it yesterday, and I just don't get it. The only thing I can think of is that the river is dirty and looks like rootbeer water?

I've found, I enjoy my vacation photos more when people are in them. It is more fun to look at a picture of a person rather than an object - so I mostly try to get photos of people standing in front of the object that I am wanting a pic of. Then I get both. LOL

Thanks Suzi! I love them too - I really need to go through and organize ours though - because after 3 trips, they are a disorganized mess. LOL And trying to find them all to post here was really annoying.

You definately need to do the silhouettes - they really are the best and cheapest souvenir in Disney.

Yes, we do love our Vet... MM goes in for his first appt on Tues... Kind of dreading it, since we'll most likely be in the room where we put Ruf to sleep - since it's the only exam room they have in their office. That part will be hard.

I am glad you all like them, I was afraid it would be too much.

Thanks - I am determined that the next 4 days will be devoted totally to potty training him, and maybe (hopefully) getting him to come when we call his name... right now, he just chooses to ignore us.

Right now, I am sitting on our front porch using the laptop (which I hate), because the second I bring him into the house, he pees. Thankfully, we have the entire kitchen gated, so he only goes on the kitchen floor - which is easy to clean up.

That would be so awesome if you could!

Ack!!! I forgot about that... Now I am going to have to go back through them! Thanks for reminding me!

You totally need to do it before the park opens - it's just the perfect start to your MK day!

I know, me too! My only real disappointment is that the Philharmagic store barely has any Donald items anymore... It used to almost fill the store, now it's just this little section.

Totally messy... but we loved them - enough that V and I will crave them until we go back. LOL

I really wish your house would sell!

I don't think his poohing is excessive... he just goes after he eats - it's not runny or anything. It's possible he has a uti - but I really just think that his training got screwed up when we got home.

I think I am going to run upstairs this morning and make a treat bag for Max - I don't like carrying the treats directly in my pocket. I got some very cute fabric for Ruf's ashes - and it was the end of the bolt - so I got the last 3/4 yd for 50% off... Is it bad if I use the same fabric for Ruf's ashes as I do for other items for Max? My mind and heart really want to keep both of them so seperate.

Max has been doing surprisingly well with a leash - considering that he didn't have a collar until 2 days ago (Josh was using a harness on him). He just refuses to go potty with it on, and I don't like letting him roam, because he gets into too much and he's just too fast to catch. I wonder if I got Ruf's adjustable leash - so it's longer and used that on him, making it progressively shorter?

So, what actually worked for you?

Bummer about the dog poo - if it makes you feel any better, I got to do that again today. At least it was me cleaning it up - Josh always gags when he does it (which makes me gag)... Maybe it's because I am a mom and I don't get grossed out as easily? Now if it was big doggie poo, I'd be gaggin' too - but little doggie poo isn't nearly as bad.

Aren't you glad I gave you my opnion on doggy pooh?

Still waiting on the link. She probably didn't share it with me because I am still upset she didn't stay an extra day to meet me. popcorn::

I hate to disappoint you - but this is just common knowledge here.

Are you just sucking up???

We LOVE EE!!! One of my co-workers was in WDW at the same time we were - and she was there with her bf's family. She said they never really rode any rides - huh? So, I started listing off rides - they didn't do any of the major ones at all (SM, Splash, HM, EE, KRR... Nothing) - I was so sad for her. Imagine going to WDW and not being able to experience any of the great stuff, because you feel tied to the family you are with. That is one sad trip. I told her that she needs to go back with out them, and do WDW her way. :)

Are they expensive Andrea? I'd really love to have that one in my collection of Donald items someday.

Yes, they do them free hand. It's really cool to watch. I will say that the CM that did them in 2008, held the paper up as she was cutting, so she was actually following the lines of the girls' profiles. The one that did them this time, had the paper in her lap most of the time she was cutting - so I think that is a huge difference as to the realism.

THanks! I am a total PTR/TR junkie now, I can't imagine my life with out one... LOL So I am sure that when I am done with this TR - I will start another PTR, even if there is no trip in the near future.

I know... but I soooo love WDW at halloween.... I will have to see what the girls' school schedule looks like for next year - I don't think it's posted yet?

THat was an awesome finish - I am so sad that it's over with. Are you going to do a PTR for your trip next year?

I know - they were super chatty - I've been replying to these posts for over an hour now...

just adding to your replies :thumbsup2

I am totally aware of that... Honestly I think you put Andrea up to it.

who me :rolleyes1

I guess we could???? I am planning a Sweet 16 trip with my BFF and her dd in Oct of 2014 anyways - so I guess we could try it for Christmas instead. Liddy, how does that work with your schedule?

I would really prefer NOT to be there on the actual TG day... Josh really wouldn't be in favor of the girls and I being gone on an actual holiday.

We're bringing our kiddos right?

yes I'm bringing Megan....come on you know you want to hang out with me at Disney!! we are planning on being there for TG...already told my mom we wouldn't be home for it!

LOL He needs to get his story straight.

Actually - I did go in search of it. I was so excited because someone had bumped it to the first page again... Only to find no update. Oh well, I understand... Anxiously waiting though.

THat is so awesome about Phay!!! You have a little genious on your hands! Great job - since we know all the kudos go to you for being such a great teacher to him!

Thank you !!! And welcome!!! I hope you'll continue to follow along and post... I know my threads sometimes move fast - but that really isn't my fault.

Since when? News to me...

Sooo, I've been sitting outside on the laptop for almost 2 hours now... with MM snoozing under my chair (and my butt fell asleep a long time ago). I refuse to bring him in until he goes potty - but it's not looking promising. :sad2: Our yard is one giant mud hole - so I detest walking him around - but I am gonna have to shortly.

I am dying to get into my sewing room - I haven't done a thing in there since we got home... Patience and Mr. R are calling to me loudly... But I don't know what to do with MM while I am up there, I think I might just let him romp around in the kitchen? It's gated anyways - and there's nothing he can get into... the only disaster he can have is potty related - which will do nothing for my potty training efforts.

I also want to do another TR update, but that might have to wait for MM's afternoon nap - which I would love to participate in. At least he slept all night last night. Although - my ankles were attacked by a mosquito - so I spent half the night itching them... Grrr... Gotta love our state bird!

Marianne - I am planning to make your chicken taco thingys today! I am super excited to try them, because they sound delicious!

Oh, I got sad, sad news at work yesterday. I was given notice that starting mid-April, we will no longer process film (not all Targets, just random ones). I love processing film - I just love the art of it. All we will continue to do is digital - and there is really nothing to that - it's all automatic. The only bonus to this, is that we get a whole new lab (which we desperately needed), as our machines were old and constantly down due to needing repairs. Some of my favorite guests are still avid film users, so I am afraid I won't see much of them anymore - they will be so sad - since they came to me exclusivley because of my *sparkling personality* - so I am told. :wizard: Anyways... Processing film was a highlight of my day - even if we didn't do a lot - it really added to the enjoyment of my job...

I hope you all have a great day - I will try to do another update this afternoon.

D~

bummer about your store taking away film...great you are getting a new lab though :thumbsup2

I have to go walk the dogs right now before my dentist appt since we officially have a duck nest in our yard but I will be back to comment sometime today -- and take over your TR -- I'll post pics of where the nest is and tomorrow I will try to get pics of the actual culprit. I don't think she'll come out to swim again -- I only see her come out in the morning when her mate visits.

If Judy claims I'm not Innocent I'm might as well just start taking over your TR.

oh hope you get to see the new baby duckies :lovestruc

Yes, D~. The root beer water is the river...which mysteriously clears once you get to DTD!

We have been trying to figure out what they put in the water to make it so brown... it can't be naturally occurring if it clears so well in such a short space! (she said the water in DTD looked more like Mountain Dew!)

But it looks very authentic...very much like the Mississippi in Louisiana.

Nini

I noticed that too, maybe they line that section of the river with a dark coating ???

hope you get some sewing done today D~

I don't know why it clears up at Downtown Disney, but a lot of the rivers in FL are brown because of tannic acid from the oak trees. It never occured to me that it wasn't a natural by-product of all the oak trees lining the sides of the river!? It would be interesting to know :upsidedow

I can't comment on everything, but will do my best to hit the highlights!!!!

Yesterday, I caught him using his pee pad as a bed. So, I really don't think he cares that it's soaked in pee? And I thought my dogs were gross!

I had him on the leash all after noon yesterday - and he refused to go outside. Once Josh let him off of the leash - he went. I see he's (meaning Max) training you well :)

I think he has so many confusing potty habits already, and we are going to have a very hard time breaking them. You'd really think he would detect Rufus's scent out in the yard and have a blast marking all over it. Did your dog come with scent glands or was that an upgrade?

We had those jalepeno pretzels twice - they were so good. Even V, who doesn't like spicy food at all (not that these were spicy, but a few bites had some kick) really loved them and begged to have them again on our second AK day. Those sound yummy! We never used out snack credits -- well, except for a few extra zebra domes.

I would really like the link to this. :surfweb:Maybe she needs your address in order to send you the link :confused3 Should I help her out?

OK, good, I thought I'd lost my mind there for a minute (Andrea will probably tell you that I did)...I think it was for more than a minute...

I am pretty sure it's because Andrea, Lisa and Cheryl are so popular and they like to hide out here?Yes, that must be it. Good hiding spot!

That will be hard -- our vet has two exams rooms and a third separate room for euthanasia. The exam rooms are very clinical and the euthanasia room is really homey. Trust me though, we end up paying for those little perks -- my vet is very expensive -- I wish I didn't like him so much b/c I'd go elsewhere for lower prices, but I can't help it -- he's wonderful and I'd rather have that.

Thanks - I am determined that the next 4 days will be devoted totally to potty training him, and maybe (hopefully) getting him to come when we call his name... right now, he just chooses to ignore us. :confused3
Maybe he was hoping you would have named him Fred instead.

Right now, I am sitting on our front porch using the laptop (which I hate), because the second I bring him into the house, he pees. Thankfully, we have the entire kitchen gated, so he only goes on the kitchen floor - which is easy to clean up.Our kitchen openings are too big to gate off. The dogs break through every contraption I devise. My living room carpet would be happier if I could keep the dogs in the kitchen while we are gone. Did I ever mention to you why I had our DR carpet removed and hardwood installed after getting the dogs???

That would be so awesome if you could!
Alexa keeps asking to go back and I really want to go with just her -- we'd have soooo much fun!

Oops -- accidentally erased your comment on the Philharmagic store -- I called them and warned them that you were coming and had very little souvenir money -- I see they were kind and removed all temptations for you.

I really wish your house would sell!I think everyone on Dis boards does - you're all probably so sick of me complaining about it! I guess it's one of the perks the military recruiters never tell you about!

I don't think his poohing is excessive... he just goes after he eats - it's not runny or anything. It's possible he has a uti - but I really just think that his training got screwed up when we got home.I guess excessive wasn't the right word -- but my friend had a terrible time training her dog until she found out it had a uti. That may account for the pee issues.

If it were me, personally, I don't think I could use the same fabric. I just put treats in a snack size ziplock to grab anytime we went out.

So, what actually worked for you?
Hmmm, *scratches head*, let me think about that. Penny peed in the LR on Tuesday and Sunny pooped in there on Wednesday. Are they really trained:confused3 I guess what worked is when they turned two I had a little chat with them and told them they were grown up and need to get their act together. I also have to hold their paws (so to speak) and make sure they whiz in the morning when I let them out and the same before going to bed and I try to walk them if I go out of the house for more than a couple of hours. By making sure they whiz it means I go outside with them and watch and don't let them back in until they've gone. It's a royal pain.

That's what I like about my small dogs -- I prefer tootsie rolls to giant sized candy bars. Well, when it comes to dog poo that is!

Aren't you glad I gave you my opnion on doggy pooh? :cool1:.....:rolleyes1......

I hate to disappoint you - but this is just common knowledge here. Right -- everyone adores D~ :sad2:

Are you just sucking up???
You were directing this at Cheryl, right?

We LOVE EE!!! One of my co-workers was in WDW at the same time we were - and she was there with her bf's family. She said they never really rode any rides - huh? Are they expensive Andrea? I'd really love to have that one in my collection of Donald items someday. They vary in price but Naos are much cheaper than Lladros. BRB..... $155 -- a little more than I expected, but guess that's inflation for you!

THanks! I am a total PTR/TR junkie now, I can't imagine my life with out one... LOL So I am sure that when I am done with this TR - I will start another PTR, even if there is no trip in the near future. :lovestrucI can't imagine my life without you ptr and tr either! Funny how that worked out!

I know... but I soooo love WDW at halloween.... I will have to see what the girls' school schedule looks like for next year - I don't think it's posted yet?No, no, no ... I've done Xmas too many times. I've NEVER done Halloween.

I am totally aware of that... Honestly I think you put Andrea up to it.Correct -- I am INNOCENT!

I guess we could???? I am planning a Sweet 16 trip with my BFF and her dd in Oct of 2014 anyways - so I guess we could try it for Christmas instead. Liddy, how does that work with your schedule?I checked with Liddy -- it doesn't work with her schedule. Doesn't work for Chiara, Lisa or Cheryl either.

We're bringing our kiddos right?I would try to bring my dd only -- ds would put a hamper on our plans.

D~

Happy sewing...

Happy pee cleaning...

At least you didn't lose your job...

Sorry I can't comment more -- dh comes home early today so I need to clean right now rather than waiting until the afternoon (you know, to make it look like I am very productive while he is at work.).

Have a great day!!!

Once we took the bus back to the resort, we all changed clothes, stopped at Sassagoula to refill our mugs and hopped on the internal shuttle to POR to check out their pool, and the resort iteself.

The internal shuttle is something Disney is doing as a trial - just to see how much it's used.

Had I used my limited memory - we should have taken the boat - not because we didn't like the bus, but because the boat would have been nicer. Not that I have anything against busses, but you've seen one bus, you've seen them all... OK, whatever - I won't explain any more, I am sure you all "get it".

So, we navigated the much larger resort - comparitively speaking - of course, and found the pool. The pool was much more crowded, and finding 2 chairs together was tricky. But we found some that were near eachother and got comfortable.

I must say that Victoria enjoyed the POR slide much more than the POFQ slide.
IMG_3207.jpg

IMG_3209.jpg

IMG_3210.jpg

So much so, that when I gave her the "10 minute warning"... She went and hid on the other side of the pool. So Allison and I had to go searching for her.

After we got V out of the pool, we went to the POR gift shop. A nice big shop - comparatively again - and they happened to have the first snow globe that V was remotely interested in. I told her to leave it behind - because we still had 3 other parks to visit, and we could always come back later to get one.

Of course - Allison had to use the bathroom... Wouldn't you know it - POR decided to clean every single public bathroom at the exact same time! So, Allison had to go all the way back to the pool to use the bathroom.

Then V & I had to "go" too... We didn't want to walk all the way back to the pool - we figured it would be just as close to walk to our room - ROFL. So that's what we were working on - when the Internal shuttle drove by...

Which led to our first bus fiasco of the trip - well, really our only actual fiasco - but still.

So, the girls tried to wave hysterically at the bus, to let the driver know we were trying to catch it... but we were clear on the other side of the main POR parking lot. So, the girls RAN to the bus stop - leaving their "Mother with short legs" in the dust. I would have attempted to keep up with them - but small problem (or in my case - LARGE problem) - I was wearing a swim suit >as in, no support for the Gals up top< - so I was running NO WHERE - period. Instead - I opted for the walk as fast as I can with out bouncing too much. Little did I know, my girls were trying to distract the driver - who was clearly "on a strict schedule"... V was talking to him. A was standing just outside the door - inspecting her flip flops that really were nothing to inspect - but she was doing a good job of it. :rotfl2: Finally, the driver asked the girls if they were waiting for someone (how perceptive of him)... They replied that they were waiting for their "Mother with short legs". Finally, in his broken English, he told them "Get off!" The girls disputed him, and he replied "Get off, or I go". So the girls got off, and the bus drove away just as I had reached the back door! Seriously???? I really had to go to the bathroom. All of the people waiting in the bus stop had witnessed this - and were grumbling along with us. We waited for the next bus - about 15 minutes - I didn't dare try to walk... but we barely made it back to our room in time. LOL

Great bus story - huh?

Anyways, we changed our clothes and I donned my best Donald gear, and back to MK we went!
IMG_3216.jpg

Surprisingly, the girls weren't all that embarassed to be seen with me. However, I think if I had worn my Donald capris that night - I probably wouldn't have seen them for the rest of the evening.

Allison being silly on the bus:
IMG_3217.jpg

We arrived at MK at about 5pm - rode the train back to Frontier Land (notice a theme here?) and got FP for Splash. I didn't note the return time in my journal??? So, who knows what time we were supposed to be back?

We walked into Adventure Land and rode POTC:

IMG_3234.jpg

We had a basic dinner at Pecos Bill's of burgers for V and I and Alli had the pulled pork sandwich. I didn't take pics of this... I may have later in the week though - since we ordered the exact same thing another day. Sorry - but I have a small rant. I don't mind it when people who purchase a meal or two at PB's and decide they need a salad on the side... However - when the person in front of you asks for 2 plates, builds an entire salad then proceeds to grab not 1 or 2 packets of dressing - but starts stuffing them in her park bag... Then goes to sit with her significant other, near enough to us to see that niether of them purchased anything there. I do have a problem with that. To me, and this is just MHO, that is stealing - it isn't right.

Then we used our FP to ride Splash - which was walk-on, what a waste of our FP. Then we rode it again twice. Niiiice. Splash is really the best Disney ride ever (however, I will say that EE is a really close 2nd).

When we got off of our 3rd ride, it was the perfect time to see Wishes from the Frontier land bridge.

I will be the first to admit that this is not the best viewing location for the Wishes fireworks, because you just don't get the effect that you get from in front of the castle. But it's so much less crowded - and I don't really like the crowds anyways.

I took a ton of pictures, but I only uploaded a few.
IMG_3252.jpg

IMG_3267.jpg

IMG_3274.jpg

I will also admit that I don't take the best fireworks pictures. However - my current camera takes far better fireworks pictures than my old camera did. On this camera, they all turned out pretty good, for a Pn'S camera anyways.

I did have a guy next to me when I was taking these fireworks pics - he had the exact same camera I have, and aked me which settings I had the camera on - because his pics weren't turning out as nice as mine.

OK - enough camera/fireworks talk.

After the fireworks, V decided she wanted to ride Aladdin. While A and I were waiting for her, the CM in front of the Tiki Room was trying to coax us inside. Since we had never been in before, we didn't know what we were missing (or not). So, when V got off of Aladdin, the Tiki Room show had just started.

We were glad we had seen it once - not sure we would bother to see that one again. I have heard that it was refurbed several years ago, and the refurb wrecked it - I don't know what it was like before - but it's quite Meh now.

Since we were in Adventure Land, I am sure you all know what was had to do next...

Yup - Dole Whips.

Allison got Vanilla with Pineapple
Victoria got Pineapple with Pineapple
D~ got Vanilla Pineapple

There are these benches on the walk way between the hub of the Castle and Adventure Land... If you grab just the right bench - you have a perfect viewing location to enjoy the Castle and your Dole Whip at the excact same time... See...

I guess, in my life, there is nothing more enjoyable to me, than sitting on a bench in MK, enjoying a Dole Whip, watching the Castle change colors and one of my daughters on each side of me. It's one of those moments in your life that you just wish you could freeze time.

Once we finished our Dole Whips - we walked out of MK down the other side of Main Street shops. These were much more out of our league financally - so we just meandered through them. At the very end was the hat shop, and of course, both girls had to model...
IMG_3282.jpg

As we exited the park... I had one picture I had to take:
IMG_3285.jpg

After we had boarded the bus, I realized that the girls and I had closed MK today. It was 10pm.

Victoria was so tired that she fell asleep on me... Just like when she was little.
IMG_3288.jpg

All in all, it was just a very enjoyable and memorable day at MK.

LISA: I think you are having a Cheryl moment -- you said you wanted to go at Thanksgiving and you really meant to say that you want to reexperience the Halloween party since it rained when you were there. Just don't want D to get conflicting information.

I really do think we might need a girls trip though I would have to bring J.

Okay I will say that D your post made me cry. My favorite part of Disney is sitting somewhere taking in the atmosphere.

Such great pictures! Your latest pics of Victoria are just fabulous! I think she must have blossomed overnight -- she looks so much more grown up than in pics you posted on you ptr. Maybe it's just the Disney magic that is giving her the prettiest smile, but I think she looks so sweet in so many of your photos. Of course you and Allison look stunning as well -- Victoria just looks different so that's why I elaborated about how good she looks.

And no, I am not sucking up to you (think Halloween.... think Halloween.... think Halloween...).

And forgot to tell you -- I think my dogs are reading your tr. I came home to poop in the FROG! Tell Max he had better start going outside so they don't keep reading that he's pooping and peeing indoors. You are confusing my dogs!

Love your throught the years photos! :lovestruc I will do that someday...

Is the POR pool not awesome:?!? My kids loved it. DH and I may have gone down the slide a time or two ourselves...:rolleyes1

I remember you told me about the problem you had at that bus. I can't believe that he told the girls to get off. How undisney of him.

I agree with you about that women who used the fixings bar as her own personal salad bar. It is people like that who drive up the prices for the rest of us and it is totally stealing.

I went to the Tiki Room in 2009 and it broke down in the middle of the show. I was so disappointed that I have not returned since. Many years ago it was refurbed and Iago and another Disney Bird (forget who) was added to the show and it was now TIki Room Under new Managment. Many people thought they ruined the show so when there was a fire there last year they removed the new character and resotored it to closer to the original. I think people like it for nostolgic reasons.

Poor little guy...

We put him outside while we were eating dinner. We had him on a lead that's hooked in the grass right outside of our front porch - that way he can lay under the roof if it rains. Well, it rained... And Maxy got wet... Didn't realize that if he moved closer to the house - he wouldn't get wet. LOL

Of course, we all oohed and aaahed that he got all wet. So I wrapped him in a towel to dry him off, and then he fell asleep in my arms - it was so sweet, after a long hard day of attempted potty-training.

(Please ignore the undone hair and no makeup... I didn't feel the need today since I was tromping around in the mud all day)

I'm late, but I'm here!

I agree with your dd, the slide at POR IS better than the one at FQ. But the Jaguar slide at CSR is better than POR's ;)

I love that evening shot of the 2 girls in front of the train station!! How did you find a deserted area? That place is usually so hopping!

The salad at Pecos Bill's. Now that was bold!! No wonder POP charges extra for multiple salad dressings. Soon all of Disney will be like our local McDonalds and charge for more than one pack of sauce. As long as they don't charge for ketchup, I think I'm ok.

Don't you just love that Donald glass art? I have the perfect lighted cabinet for it. I keep telling dh that glass would look great there. Right now it's sporting an over abundance of Disney cookie jars and platters.

The CP pictures look great! And I love the now and then photos!

Love the updates today! The POR pool looks nice. I would have hidden like Victoria if someone told me I had to get out! Can't believe the bus driver did that . Its not like they have a definite schedule they have to keep to.

I really enjoy the then and now pictures! I have to dig up the ones from 2008 and post them on FB at some point.

I  Max! He is such a stinkin' cutie! Just wait until he gets bigger, V won't want him falling asleep in her lap. Our last shepherd thought she was a lap dog - nothing like having 60 lbs of dog laying on your lap! :lmao: As promised a few replies ago, here are a few pictures of my baby.
First day home, mid November, ~10 weeks old. DS wanted to call her Fluffy but DH didn't think that was an appropriate name for her when she got bigger. So we changed it to Buffy. (Yes, as in the vampire slayer. DS had just seen a commercial for that show on TV.)

Christmas, ~16 weeks old. She's not spoiled at all. (That's only about 1/2 of her presents!)

January 2010, ~18 weeks old. Man does she love snow!

April 2010, 7.5 months old. You can really see how much she grew in such a short time.

February 2011, 18 months old. Pretty much full grown here. She's only grown about another 1" taller and filled out some since this picture.

November 2011, 2 years and 2 months old. (Excuse the wrapped paw. She got her dew claw caught on something during a hike and practically ripped it off but wouldn't leave it alone, so I had to bandage her up!)

Enjoy Max while he is little because he won't stay that way very long!

Speaking of adorable dogs...even though you have to take my word for it...no pictures here.

I was sitting in the living room when I kept hearing a banging noise... As usual I hollered at the kids but they were in their rooms...and the noise seemed to be coming from outside.

I went to the back door...and sure enough, Mr Max was next to the wall, playing ball. He had a hard rubber ball and was throwing it against the wall and chasing it as it bounced away!

He looked at me like...What's wrong mom? I'm just playing!

My Max is only 6 months old but seems to be much larger than our previous German Shepherd at 6 months...and he maxed out at 120 pounds! (no fat...all muscle!) I'm thinking we may have another large fellow on our hands!

Love the pictures of sleeping Monster Max! So cute!

Joining!

You can obviously tell that Donald is my favorite character too! I just don't understand why he doesn't get more love. :sad2:

I love your then and now segments. Such a great way to look back on trips.

I just about cried when I read about the vet doing that for you with Rufus paw print. That was such a thoughtful thing to do. I would have started crying myself.

Okay I will say that D your post made me cry. My favorite part of Disney is sitting somewhere taking in the atmosphere.

oh bring J...he'll get lots of attention for all of us !!!

we love sitting a watching people too, some of the best entertainment there :rotfl2:

great photos yet again D....you look so cute in your Donald hat!
bummer about the bus driver.....lesson learned, go potty before you leave the house :rotfl::rotfl:

what a day you had....opened and closed the MK what could be better :)
love the before and after photos too!

MM looks so cute and innocent while he's sleeping :lovestruc

I wish my dogs would entertain themselves by playing ball against the wall. They apparently have started entertaining themselves by peeing and pooing in the house again since D's max told them it was OK! And dh was NOT happy about the poo in the FROG -- it's his room you know and he is not a dog fan as it is.
