Sew much to do, sew little time - but it was worth it! New PTR link posted! ~~~~~~~~~

I am enjoying the trip report! I love pictures....

Cheryl...LOVE the motto you added under Max's photo!:rotfl2::rotfl2:

you are inspiring me to take more pictures this trip.

I hope you will take more pictures! :lovestruc

That cooler is awesome, how sweet Do you know if it's from the Disney Florist?

Yes, Lisa and Megan sent it from the Disney florist... It was the perfect size and perfect amount of goodies in it for us. Honestly - I didn't even know there were Mickey Rice Krispie treats in it, until I got home and looked at the picture... I guess the girls nabbed those right away. :rotfl2:

good luck training MM, can't give any pointers thought my one and only puppy we got when I was 10 and don't remember how we trained her.

wasn't the food area cool...we had great service there also! loved the over sized decorations too!

We just really liked the area and resort immensely. I will say, we made a point to eat at odd times - the one day that we didn't - I was thankful that we mostly had, because it was a zoo!

Megan wasn't thrilled with the water slide either, but was better than no slide

happy you and the girls enjoyed your pixie dust!

You'll see, later in the trip - the pool grew on V. :lovestruc

We LOVED our PD - it was fantastic! :lovestruc

I'm so glad I am catching the beginning of your TR.

First off, your puppy, oh my goodness I am in love.

LOL It feels like it is moving much slower than my PTR did.

Yes, little Max is a heartbreaker, that's for sure.

I just love the luggage set-up. I keep leaving hints for DH about your bags, I usually will leave the browser with pictures from your PTR displayed, so DH will see it when he goes to use the internet. I don't think this is working quite as I expected. Now he keeps arranging my dining room table with my SEW everything workshop book opened and my sewing machine light on. I think he wants me to attempt to make my own bag before giving in

I can't wait to read more.

OK - I read this on my lunch break yesterday, and I was laughing hysterically! How super duper funny! I give your DH huge points for wanting you to try doing it youself. Just make sure he realizes that once you do - you'll be so addicted that he'll never see you again. :rolleyes1

WOW! One busy weekend and I'm signing in on page 4!!!! You're off to a great start. . .LOVE all the pics! What is it about Disney that even the counter service meals look awesome!

IKR! And those pictures turned out really good too... We were honestly soooo hungry - we would have eaten anything!

Max is just adorable! I can only imagine how difficult it is to train a pup. . .maybe you should see if you can sprinkle him with a little left over pixie dust! Best of luck. He looks like an awesome addition to the family

Thank you... It really is a rude awakening - Ruf was sooo easy and this puppy is just the opposite. I have yet to catch up on our sleep from the trip, because this little guy just exhausts me every day - and I don't do that much with him. Just watching him makes me tired. LOL

You went to Disney World? How did I miss that?

Can't remember if I ever told you that I  WDW.

Looking forward to reading all about it.

Awww Cheryl - glad you made it over. How was your trip? I didn't get to hear anything about it, because I was gone on mine.

LOREE Awww, thanks. We really loved them too. I can only imagine what we must have looked like in the park with all 7 of us strolling along! My DH is a Disney freak in the making and has only been twice. I don't know how many times I heard "hey did you see ________ on the Disboards" in the weeks leading up to our trip. I think he was on here even more than I was. He will wear pretty much anything, loves to wear matching stuff and is already planning my next embroidery projects for me. I may not have another trip planned, but he will be keeping me busy.

That's awesome. I could only dream of Josh having a bit of enjoyment out of Disney.

[For us it was the frustration of not making rope drop, constant bathroom breaks (seriously, there wasn't one that they passed by), girly temper tantrums/bickering and not going back to the parks after dinner. We found the crowds on Monday in MK a little much in the afternoon and AK on Wednesday morning was crowded too. The other days we were fine or maybe we just chose the right park those days. The characters were great for us. DS is 11 but has an absolute love of WDW that you can see in his face. Older niece is also 11 and was a little stand offish, but that is normal for her. Younger niece is 8 and really came to life with the princesses, Mickey and Minnie. Other characters she was meh. Unfortunately we didn't get many pictures of DS alone with the characters as the girls were practically stuck like glue to him. Like you, we still had a good time though . . . lemons into lemonade right?

Fortunately, we made every effort every day to make RD - there were a few days we missed. The days that we made the effort, really made our day easier in the long run. Those were the days that we went back to our resort for a rest. It really is true when they tell you that the most busy part of the day is from about 12 - 5pm... You can get so much more done if you just aren't there during those times. LOL

I am so glad that your DS enjoyed the characters... Such wonderful memories for him.

[Routine is important and I am sure that it will get better as everyone settles in the next few weeks. I agree that puppies are worse than toddlers but the puppy stage seems to go by so quickly. I'll have to scrounge up some pictures of Buffy over the past couple of years for you. Before you know it, Max will be a big boy too!

I hope it gets better. Potty training would be a big plus. We are having such a hard time being consisitant. The only thing we all do the same is when we catch him peeing, we pick him up and bring him outside. But some bring him out the front door, others bring him out the back... Josh thinks he is too young to potty train - everything I've read says that he should have been potty trained before we got him by the breeder - or at least started. He is definately not too young, IMO.

[We were the same way trying to figure out the dining plan our first trip. We also had nice CMs that helped us through it. It all looks delicious too. Can't wait to see what else you ate while there. This is the one thing we forgot to do, take pictures of our food like we did last time.

Yes, the CMs were so nice about helping us... There was just so much food on the dining plan!

[Awesome pixie dust! How nice of them to think of you guys! POFQ looks like a really nice resort from the pictures I have seen. Love the shot of your door!

Can't wait for the next part! popcorn::

I wish I could put into words just how much we loved POFQ - it was just fabulous. Especially when I was second guessing our resort choice for much of the planning process, then when we got there (and especially after seeing POR and other resorts) - just seeing how big they really were, the girls and I decided that POFQ really was the best resort, and I am not sure we will ever stay anywhere else - unless we stay at the Poly. LOL

I will say that when I clean the floor after an accident, I use bleach.... Actually, I use the clorox clean up spray. I have white counter tops (yuck!!!) and keep a couple of bottles around all the time. I just spray some on the offending area (after removing the offending....stuff...and drying it...) and then clean the floor with it. He would go over and sniff and snort. He really HATES the smell of bleach! LOL! In fact, every time I start cleaning the kitchen he asks to go outside! LOL!

Nini

LOL I do have some of the Clorox clean up spray - I could try that. I purchased a pack of puppy pads yesterday... Now, how do I get him to use those? I better go do a bit of reasearch. If we could just get him to choose one spot in the house - instead of everywhere - I think that would go a big way to get him to potty train.

Great start to your trip. Oh that little Max is the cutest thing!

Can't wait to read all the details about your trip.

He is pretty cute! Like a child - it probably saves us from getting too annoyed at him. LOL

My husband wouldn't know HOW to arrange any of my sewing stuff to give me a hint like that.

I was thinking the exact same thing. LOL

Cheryl, have I told you lately how much I love you?

I just thought it was assumed? :confused3

D~ I think that's a chocolate croissant I spy in the background of your food picture. . . Is it?

I think it might be. I tried to make an honest effort to try every dessert they offered. :lovestruc

And that is AWESOME pixie dust from Lisa & Megan! They're so sweet!

I know, it was super sweet. :lovestruc

I was just talking about this summer with DH this morning . . . He says you have to come here, the guest room is yours, because if you don't he's afraid I'll run off to Minnesota :rolleyes1

ROFL!!! Tell your DH not to worry - I'd bring you back eventually. You can stay as long as you want, if you bring your new embroidery machine. :wizard:

D~

I am enjoying the trip report! I love pictures....

Cheryl...LOVE the motto you added under Max's photo!

Glad you're enjoying it so far! :) I didn't even notice that Cheryl had written in my text box, until you mentioned it. Too funny. Leave it to Cheryl to make us all laugh!

I know, this has nothing to do with anything, but one of my favorite parts of the trip, was over hearing families at breakfast, trying to decide which park to go into that day. :woohoo: I knew that we wouldn't have to worry too much that they'd choose our park.

First of all... Yesterday was kind of a sad day. I'd had a decent day at work - I was super busy trying to catch up on things that weren't done while I was gone, it went by really fast. When I got home, Ruf's ashes were on the table, and the vet had done something totally unexpected... After we had gone home that day, they made a paw print from Ruf in clay. It really moved me, because it was something I had wanted to do so badly - but I hadn't gotten around to it. So, of course, I bawled like a baby. We all still miss him so much. And even though Max is a cute distraction - there is no way he will ever replace our Ruf - and we would never want him to. I took a picture of Ruf's clay paw print for you all - because I knew you would understand how much this meant to me. It's just so special. :lovestruc

IMG_4786.jpg

I thought I would also include a couple more pictures of Max, since even though he is a pile of energy and a pee machine - he is still a puppy and does some very cute things. As I watch Max being a puppy - I often wonder how Rufus was as a puppy... Since we adopted him, we never really knew his actual birthday - we always just guessed - and we always just celebrated it with Victoria's (and every one else's for that matter LOL - he loved cake). Anyways, off to get a few pics of Max over the last couple days...

And "helping" Alli with her homework last night. :rotfl2:

IMG_4783.jpg
IMG_4784.jpg

I need to run to the fabric store this morning, to gather supplies for my next bag. I also need to contact that person to let them know I am starting... I've been such a slacker since we got home. :confused3

D~

Can't wait to see your next bag creation. I am thinking I want a bag for August maybe I can figure out what I want by then. Do you notice I am having trouble deciding. LMAO.

I am totally in love with Max. Ask me about Miley as a puppy. Like I said if she wasn't so totally awesome with J and he didn't love her so very much since dog is one of his few words she would no longer be part of this family. She was really rough training until she was a little over 2

After we got some much needed food into our bodies... We decided to head off into our first park. Of course - we chose MK!

We found the bus stop at our resort - which was a very short walk due to the walk ways in between the individual buildings - and boarded the first bus to MK.

Our plan was to go into MK and board the steam train back to Frontier Land to get FP/ride Splash. :lovestruc

We arrived at MK around 4pm, we had to wait a little bit for a train - so I took a couple pics...

IMG_3027.jpg

We really weren't all that impressed with all the refurbs on Main Street (or anywhere else)... A few weeks before our trip, they had all the canvas covers painted to match the stores they were covering - not sure what happened - but those were gone and the huge box was back. :sad2:

IMG_3026.jpg

We made it back to Splash - we picked up FPs for a return window of 5:05-6:05pm. So we had a bit of time to waste.

We decided to browse some shops, and V was kind enough to use some of her spending $$ towards Carl and Dug pins for Allison - that was so nice of her!

Then we headed off to Adventure Land, V wanted to do the Swiss Family Robinson Tree house - so Alli and I went in search of Dole Whips. :cloud9:

Alli got vanilla with pineapple

D~ got orange with pineapple to share with V.

As we were walking out - someone tapped me on the shoulder... It was LIDDY!!!! Alli and I got to meet her family - as Alli would say, her kids are "so stinkin' cute" - Alli and her dd had an instant connection and it was so sweet! I wasn't thinking - I didn't take any pictures of our first Dismeet... No worries though - we did meet up with Liddy again, and we definately have pictures then. Shortly after we met Liddy, V came back from the treehouse, and ate the entire Dole Whip - I barely got two bites.

It was also right around this time that I saw my Evil Queen bag... Again, I wasn't thinking because I was so excited to see Liddy - that I didn't snap a picture. But, this is what it looks like, if y'all are curious (Y'all is said in my best MN accent :rotfl:)
IMG_2668008.jpg

After meeting Liddy and seeing my EQ bag... it was time for us to return for our first ride on Splash...

IMG_3040.jpg

See - I did actually go on this trip... LOL
IMG_3052.jpg

After Splash, we wanted to visit Tom Sawyer's Island - but it was just past dusk and closed.

Then we headed over towards Liberty Square.

An appropriate start to our vacation:
IMG_3053.jpg

We decided to ride Haunted Mansion... Such a fun ride! It's a shame that this was our only ride on it this trip.

Then we headed towards the silhouettes... This was a major priority on this trip. We got there, and there wasn't a line at all. I had planned on doing this on our first night, because the crowds would only get thicker, and I didn't want to have to worry about doing it later in our trip.

The CM that was doing the silhouettes had a very thick accent, and it was very hard to understand her - but she was so sweet. Not only did she do both girls - but she also did a silhouette of our sweet Ruf from a photo that I'd brought with for just this purpose.

Victoria was first:
IMG_3056.jpg

Allison was next:
IMG_3060.jpg

Then Rufus:
IMG_3062.jpg

Personally, I don't think the silhouettes look anything like Ruf or the girls - I think the noses are wrong - and Ruf is just too thin. However, I didn't say anything, especially about Ruf, because I am sure it is very hard to do from a picture.

IMG_4787.jpg

By the time the silhouettes were done - the CM had a line of about 10 people waiting for their turn - and they were being really obnoxious and rude - so I think she was taking her time with us.

When we left Liberty Square, it was almost dark out - so I took a few pics of the lit up castle.
IMG_3068.jpg

IMG_3066.jpg

We left via Main Street, again, I took a few more pictures.

IMG_3070.jpg

IMG_3073.jpg

IMG_3074.jpg

We took the bus back to POFQ and had dinner at the food court again... We all had bbq ribs - this meal was very good, but I didn't take any pictures. I remember the ribs being so tender, they just fell off the bone.

I do have to say, any time we had any meat anywhere on Disney property - there was one recurring phrase said with it... "it's not as good as Dad's"... I would have to agree - we are quite spoiled with Josh's cooking.

Our favorites today:

Allison: Meeting Liddy and family

Victoria: Dole Whips

D~

D, we had a blast meeting you! When you told me where you was, I wasn't quite sure what you guys would be wearing, so I just hoped I'd find something recognizable ... and I DID!

My DD had been so stressed over meeting your girls (she was so worried they wouldn't like her ). We feel blessed that we got to meet your family, and it was truly the highlight of our day as well! :goodvibes

I'm also glad that you got to see your EQ mini UPB in action!

Still sorry that we distracted you and V devoured the Dole Whip. :lmao: If it makes you feel better, I never got one this whole trip ... not that I cared, since they're just "okay".

I had never seen the silhouette thing ... While I didn't think they represented your girls (or Rufus) very well, I still thought they were cute. :confused3

I'm also going to have to go back through my pictures, because I swear the tarp over the bakery was "blended" to make it look more suitable. And that was our ONLY MK day, so it had to be that day .... I'll have to pull out my laptop later and see. I remember DH even commenting about it, how it was crappy there was a tarp, but pretty cool that they make it blend in. I dunno. Maybe they knew you were coming and wanted to give you something to complain about? :confused3
:lmao::rotfl2:

Love the "then and now" pictures! Heck, I just love the whole update. :thumbsup2

Okay, I'm done reading this one. Where's the next? popcorn::

I love love love the silouhettes I do see both girls and I agree Rufs snout is too narrow.

I *heart* dole whips.

what a sweet gift from the vet, know you will cherish his paw print forever!!!

love the before and current photos :goodvibes
the sillouettes are cute, what a nice memory for you!

Max is soooo cute. Rufus's paw print in the clay is such a wonderful keepsake.

Love the now and then pictures of you and the girls. How exciting that you got to meet up with Liddy and her family.

I think they are getting MK all spruced up for the official opening of Fantasyland in the fall but it is so annoying to see the buildings all blocked off like that. We did the Keys to the Kingdom tour in Sept and our guide told us that all of the contruction would be finished before the 40th Anniversary on Oct 1st. Obviously she was tricking us since there continues to be construction into March. Was MK very crowded that day? Your FP return time for Splash Mountain was pretty short.

How sweet of your vet to do rufus's paw print for you and giving it to you as a suprise.

I am glad that you enjoyed the food at the the food court at POFQ, I think I got the worst meal because the only dinner I ate there I couldn't even finish because it was so gross.

I love Dole whips too, but I actually didn't have one this trip. :confused3

It is great that you were able to meet up with Lidian at MK, what a great surprise.:goodvibes

AH Man! How did I miss this? :scared1: I didn't make it 'til page 5?!? What is wrong with me??? Okay, don't answer that last question...it will take up too much space. :rolleyes1

Anyhow, I am here now and that's all that matters...

LOL It feels like it is moving much slower than my PTR did.

That's because I have been slacking and haven't posted any pics (yet). Actually, since you were the one on the trip I thought I'd actually let you have dibs at getting your pics up ~ I'm trying to be kind and refraining from taking over -- maybe I'll go mess around on Lisa's trip report!

Awww Cheryl - glad you made it over. How was your trip? I didn't get to hear anything about it, because I was gone on mine.
Cheryl did post her tr on your ptr. I was an entire line long -- you might have blinked and missed it.

Be careful with the puppy pads -- eventually Rufus will learn they are more fun to chew on and eat that they are to pee on.

I love the clay paw print!!!!!! That is so sweet! I might make paw print Christmas ornaments for my babies.

Love all the pics of Max :)

I love the first pic of V!!! She's adorable in it :)

Splash pic: :lmao::lmao: You and V don't look as happy as A does :lmao::lmao:

Yep, Rufus wasn't done as well as I would have expected -- he looks more like the hound in Aristocats. Just consider a cute cartoon version of him.

I think V and A are pretty good -- agree about the noses though. Heck, if my nose looked that cute on a silhouette I'd consider getting one done for myself!

I can't wait to see your Liddy pics -- I need faces to go with names.

How sweet of your vet to do that for you!!!!

I do think that the girls' silhouettes are good, especially the one on the right. Rufus does look rather skinny in his though.

As for the covers, I read somewhere that week that the tarp was torn/damaged in the bad weather that had gone through Florida a day or two earlier. Maybe that's why they were back to just the box? :confused3

Wow! So glad I found your tr - I hope you don't mind if I hitch along for the ride...

First and most of all, I'm so sorry to hear about your beloved Ruf. Our dogs are such a huge part of our family and it's so hard to say goodbye. (Max is really a cutie, though! I want a golden in a couple of years and I'm planning on training him/her to be a therapy dog.)

Second, I really love your park bags! We've got a very nice sewing machine that's pretty lonely upstairs. DD picked up sewing but has pretty much dropped it. I have not sewed since junior high home ec, but you are definitely inspiring me to give it a shot.

Finally, too much has already happened to comment on the start of your trip! But how cool that you got to go with your 2 girls. (And how fun to see the "then and now" photos!) DD and I are going on a girls' trip and I hope that some of those covers are gone from Main Street when we're there. I know that in the long run it's a good thing, but it definitely takes away some of the magic.

D, we had a blast meeting you! When you told me where you was, I wasn't quite sure what you guys would be wearing, so I just hoped I'd find something recognizable ... and I DID!

I didn't think I would be too hard to find that night, between my DD bag and my DD sweatshirt - both of which you've seen oodles of pictures of - you should have been able to pick me out of a line up based on that alone. popcorn::

My DD had been so stressed over meeting your girls (she was so worried they wouldn't like her ). We feel blessed that we got to meet your family, and it was truly the highlight of our day as well!

I am so sorry your dd was so stressed over meeing us. You were our first real live Dismeet - my girls weren't stressed - but you have no idea how many times I heard the "Mom, you always said that we should never meet anyone from online" speech... They sounded just like me. :rolleyes1 However, I do have to say - once they met each new person - they walked away with smiles on their faces... Truly, your dd and ds though - melted their hearts (so did little Anakin... but we met him later in our trip).

I'm also glad that you got to see your EQ mini UPB in action!

I know - that was the coolest thing ever!

Still sorry that we distracted you and V devoured the Dole Whip. :lmao: If it makes you feel better, I never got one this whole trip ... not that I cared, since they're just "okay".

Seriously??? You need to try the vanilla soft serve with the pineapple juice - Numilicious!!!! Because she did that to me - I never once "shared" another Dole Whip with her the entire trip. LOL I got my own!

I had never seen the silhouette thing ... While I didn't think they represented your girls (or Rufus) very well, I still thought they were cute. :confused3

Yah - I am kind of bummed about that. I should really take a picture of the girls' silhouettes they had done when we were there in 2008 - those were awesome. The CM who did them (in one of the above pictures) was really awesome!

I'm also going to have to go back through my pictures, because I swear the tarp over the bakery was "blended" to make it look more suitable. And that was our ONLY MK day, so it had to be that day .... I'll have to pull out my laptop later and see. Maybe they knew you were coming and wanted to give you something to complain about? :confused3

I would love to see pictures if it was blended earlier that day. Yah - it's like people get enjoyment out of listening to me complain. :confused3

Love the "then and now" pictures! Heck, I just love the whole update.

Awww... Thanks Liddy!

Okay, I'm done reading this one. Where's the next?

Not sure, any requests? :surfweb:

I love love love the silouhettes I do see both girls and I agree Rufs snout is too narrow.

Thanks Chiara... I love Dole Whips too.

I know, it was so sweet - it is a true treasure. :lovestruc

the sillouettes are cute, what a nice memory for you!

I love taking the befores and after photos - it's so much fun! I wish the silhouettes were more of a likeness to my girls - Oh well.

Max is soooo cute. Rufus's paw print in the clay is such a wonderful keepsake.

Thanks! I agree - to both. :)

Love the now and then pictures of you and the girls. How exciting that you got to meet up with Liddy and her family.

The girls and I got to meet a lot of Disers this trip - it was so awesome to meet everyone!

I agree with you - I think they are doing it to coincide with the FL expansion, as well. MK was only rated to be a "1" this day - one of the reasons we went our first night... the parks were only scheduled to get more busy as our trip went on.

How sweet of your vet to do rufus's paw print for you and giving it to you as a suprise.

I know - I just love it~!

[I am glad that you enjoyed the food at the the food court at POFQ, I think I got the worst meal because the only dinner I ate there I couldn't even finish because it was so gross.

That's a bummer. Do you remember what you had?

[I love Dole whips too, but I actually didn't have one this trip.

That sucks too... I had waaay more than I needed - that's for sure. I could really go for a Dole Whip right about now though... I wonder if I went to DQ and brought my own pineapple juice if it would be the same? :rolleyes1

[It is great that you were able to meet up with Lidian at MK, what a great surprise.

I thought you knew that we met up that night? I could have sworn I told you... It was a lot of fun to meet Liddy and her family that night.

AH Man! How did I miss this? :scared1: I didn't make it 'til page 5?!? What is wrong with me??? Okay, don't answer that last question...it will take up too much space. :rolleyes1

Anyhow, I am here now and that's all that matters...

YAY!!! Glad you made it Oopsi!!! We won't tell you what's wrong with you - I promise... We'll keep it to ourselves. :rotfl2:

I love the clay paw print!!!!!! That is so sweet! I might make paw print Christmas ornaments for my babies.

That is an excellent idea! You should do that - if you can get them to hold still long enough?

Love all the pics of Max

Definately Monster Max though... Such a turd.

That makes me feel so much better! I thought I was the only one who couldn't train my dogs.

It better not be two years - I am going crazy after 5 days...

I love the first pic of V!!! She's adorable in it

I love that pic too!

Splash pic You and V don't look as happy as A does

Yah, I wonder why... All of a sudden V was in my lap and she left me to take the brunt of the water... not to mention we were sunk forward because I was sitting in front - I am pretty sure that's the last time I sat in front too. :rotfl:

Yep, Rufus wasn't done as well as I would have expected -- he looks more like the hound in Aristocats. Just consider a cute cartoon version of him.

That's exactly right - it does look like a cartoon of him. I think I might bring his pic back the next time we go and try it again.

I think V and A are pretty good -- agree about the noses though. Heck, if my nose looked that cute on a silhouette I'd consider getting one done for myself!

I really need to take a pic of their first silhouettes - they were soooo much better, almost a perfect likeness to them.

I can't wait to see your Liddy pics -- I need faces to go with names.

I can't wait to post them! It was a lot of fun!

D~ <---- Who has been trying to answer this for 2 hours!

:love:Love the paw print.

The girls getting their silhouettes done 2008:
CIMG3648.jpg
I think the silhouettes of the girls are good.

I had Emma's portrait done in pastels like in your 2008 photo in May of 2008 when she was 5. She looked like she was about 13. When she was 7 we did a photo over in Imagination at Epcot with her surfing with Stitch.

How sweet of your vet to do that for you guys! It is a great keepsake of your Rufus.

Love the then and now pictures. We took your suggestion and got a couple of them too. Would have liked to have gotten more, but there is always the next trip. DH did duplicate 'start of the day' videos like our last trip.

I love the pictures at night, especially the castle with the different colours.

Great updates D~!

How sweet of your vet to do that for you!!!!

I know - words really cannot describe what a thoughtful gift that was.

I do think that the girls' silhouettes are good, especially the one on the right. Rufus does look rather skinny in his though.

They are good - I just don't think they look a lot like they really look - not like the ones we had last time... I am posting pics of those at the bottom of this post. :thumbsup2

As for the covers, I read somewhere that week that the tarp was torn/damaged in the bad weather that had gone through Florida a day or two earlier. Maybe that's why they were back to just the box? :confused3

Oooh - that makes sense! Thanks for letting me know - that makes me feel a little bit better - as in a totally reasonable explanation. :thumbsup2

Wow! So glad I found your tr - I hope you don't mind if I hitch along for the ride...

Totally happy to have you on board! Thanks for letting me know you are here - and WELCOME! :lovestruc

First and most of all, I'm so sorry to hear about your beloved Ruf. Our dogs are such a huge part of our family and it's so hard to say goodbye. (Max is really a cutie, though! I want a golden in a couple of years and I'm planning on training him/her to be a therapy dog.)

Thank you... Rufus was one of a kind - I think I miss him more now that we have Max, just because Max has made me realize just how lucky were were to have Ruf - LOL I do mean that in a nice way - Ruf was just soooo low key and low maintenance.

Goldens make wonderful therapy dogs... I know that after raising Max, I am probably going to need some therapy. I shouldn't say that - he is a sweet puppy - but he is totally a puppy and into everything. And he totally knows and depends on the fact that he can run faster than we can... I am sure you can visualize a little puppy running down the street - the whole family haphazardly chasing him... Yah - that's us. popcorn::

Second, I really love your park bags! We've got a very nice sewing machine that's pretty lonely upstairs. DD picked up sewing but has pretty much dropped it. I have not sewed since junior high home ec, but you are definitely inspiring me to give it a shot.

Thank you! Please go read my PTR and my learning to sew post - I swear, if I can learn, anyone can! You must put that machine to good use! :wizard: Oh, then go read the Disboutiquer thread - in the family section of The Dis... Those gals (and Tom) are soooo inspirational! :lovestruc

It's never too late to comment in my TR - ROFL... Pretty much everyone here has an opinion on everything anyways. :)

I sure hope some of those covers are gone for your trip. When is your trip? You will have such a great time with your dd... Honestly, don't tell anyone, the girls and I are secretly planning another trip...

:love:Love the paw print.

I know... It's just so wonderful... We have this huge shrine to Ruf in our living room. We just found his "old" Woobie the other day - he had hid it upstairs and I was so thrilled to find it - because he loved that one most. :lovestruc

:I think the silhouettes of the girls are good.

Those sound really cool... I thought about doing the pastels of the girls - but again, the tightwad in me took over, and I opted for the $8 silhouette instead. :rotfl2:

Ok - so I took a picture of the girls' silhouettes from 2008 - which I consider to be an almost perfect shadow of them... Sorry they are in the frame - I didn't feel like taking them out (or off the wall) for the pic.
