Several Questions

I have 3 possible trips for 2012 and a few questions.

1. January, I'm going to WDW and staying at OKW. I saw on the resort map that there is a jogging trail that goes around part of the resort. Is it an actual path or just the regular sidewalk?

2. In the past I've read some posts about an area past DtD to go to eat off-site. Where exactly is this? Do I just drive past DtD (past the Marketplace entrance?). I've never driven that way before, so don't know how far it is to get to off-site eateries.

3. Over Labor Day weekend, I'm planning to go to DL. The dates will run into 2 "seasons" and there is a difference in points. Will I be charged the points rate for each night, switching the amount at the season switch? Or is the amount the same for every night from the start of when I booked (ie Wed.-Sun. is Dream season, Mon. & Tues. is value. Will Mon. & Tues. get charged as Dream or value?

4. I'm thinking of a scheduling a trip in mid-November. I read that the Jersey teachers convention will be Nov. 8&9, which is a Thurs. & Fri. Veterans Day is on a Sunday. So, do the Jersey folks usually go down early (ex. Mon. Nov. 5th) and then leave at the end of the weekend or do they usually go down around the 8-9th and stay later into the following week?

5. For the Sept. trip I will have enough points in my 2012 uy. But I can't book that until the 7 mo. mark. I would have to borrow points from 2013 uy for the Nov. trip, but I can make those ressies now. Does it make a difference if I book Nov. now (using 2012 uy points) and then borrow the points for the Sept. trip when I can make the ressies at 7 mos.?

Thanks!
Terri

2 you can take a bus, boat or walk to DTD. The path starts down by unit 55 (this is a good jogging path)

2. i assume you mean crossroads (there are quite a few eateries in there). drive past DTD, and keep going striaght (the road actually veers to the right, but does not split). at the light, you cross over into crossroads (there is a flippers - our personal favorite :lovestruc, tgif, etc). be forewarned: the grocery store there, goodings, is notoriously expensive.
3. the points per night are charged by which season the night is in, not by when the vaca starts or ends.
4. if all the points are in the same contract, your first booking will use the 2012 points. then you will borrow from 2013 if you add another trip. i would book the trip you are most certain about first, then the one that there might be any uncertainty about as borrowed points cannot be unborrowed, so you would have less time to use them if you need to cancel the reservation.

hth :)

Yes I did mean Crossroads. Thanks.
So if I borrow points from 2013 to use in Nov. 2012 and then I have to cancel, do I have to use those points by the end of my 2012 uy or do they go back into 2013's uy?

any borrowed pts will remain in their "new" use year and expire at the end of the new UY. banking and borrowing are both "final" transactions and when you move the pts, they can never be put back.

what is your UY month?

I have a March uy. I may wait a little longer to book the Nov. trip as that is the "iffy" one at this time. I need a two bedroom, so I know I can't wait too long to book.

There is an actual jogging path at OKW...I found at least part of it "by accident" last time I was there...over at "the end" of Turtle Pond...I didn't follow it all the way around, though, so can't tell you exactly where it stops & starts; I would imagine the map would tell you.

The path from OKW to SSR (w/a veer-off to Downtown Disney) is also a really pleasant jogging/hiking/running path...it's (as I recall) 9/10 mile from the start of that path over to SSR...probably another 1/3 of a mile or so if you veer off to go to Downtown Disney (puts you in to DTD on West Side)...

Hope this helps

it's starting to get a little dated but you might want to check out the mousesteps pictures to get a feel for the paths around OKW...
