Thinking about visiting DL for first time. Have a few questions if anyone can help:

Understand Disney bus service available from LAX to hotel (CGH, CLH, Pier) but it is not free like Magical Express. Do I just get off the plane, get bags, and go to Disney bus area and pay then, for round trip?

I would like to go to Knotts and take the LA tour one day. Notice I can get a package through Disney that includes transportation (I do not want to rent a car or drive at all this trip!). Anyone have any experience with these?

Does the bus/shuttle for these two places pick up right at your hotel and then you get a set time to be back at let's say Knott's to get back to hotel?

Thanks to anyone and everyone!

I know that there is a bus from LAX to Disneyland area. You do exactly what you mentioned. You get your luggage and go out and there is a waiting area for the Disneyland bus. Purchase a round trip ticket (cheaper than each way) and then it is about an hour ride to the parks. They will drop you off by your hotels.

As far as renting a car- you can do it by the day. Which if you don't want it the entire time, I would suggest doing. Especially since you don't use a car when you are at Disneyland for multiple days in a row.

I am not sure what you meant about the bus dropping you off in front of Knott's. The bus from LAX goes just to the Disneyland parks. You can't miss the bus with all the Disney characters on the sides. I don't know of any other shuttle, but someone else might.

Hope that helps a little-

Thank you for your help. I noticed on Disney site that you could book other tours, etc. with your package. One of these was to Knotts, tix w/transportation, and there were several others. I can only guess that by booking the package through the Disney website that the hotel or someone coordinated the transporation from the DLR hotels to Knotts, etc.

You can book your transportation on the DL website, if you do that they should send you vouchers with the rest of your tickets, and if you do that you have already paid for transportation, hints the voucher. If you book a day trip thing, the transportation should pick you up and drop you off at your hotel, right out front.

If your flying, which I believe you are, when you get to the airport (in California) you call, for a shuttle, I don’t know about the bus, and tell them you are there and need to be picked up. Like I said I don't know about the bus, however if you book with Disney your transportation voucher will tell you what to do, any transportation voucher will tell you what to do when your ready to go, this should include any to any outside attractions. Disney is very through with their information, and if there is anything you still need help with call Disney directly, you'll get the most correct answer from them, or post a thread here.

Just book your transportation with Disney, they do all the arranging and make things easier for people who don’t live near the parks, and its all paid for, and if anything goes wrong you have a number to call.

:thumbsup2
Thank you both for your help. DLR is somewhat different than WDW, so I'm on a "learning curve" about getting around, etc.
