"Seven Seven 07" 20070707-11 Night Mediterranean Cruise

I asked my TA about a Disneyland Paris add-on. There is none yet but Disney is considering and is compiling a waiting list of those interested. I figured since we were going all the way to Europe we may as well do it all. This is a chance of a lifetime and I may never get back -- at least not with my son at 13!!! As I am a single mom I am too chicken to try to do on my own -- plus I dont' speak French and my Spanish is rusty! :rolleyes1

As for air plans, I booked through Disney and so are at their mercy! It is more expensive but if something goes wrong they guarantee you make the boat or take you to the next port (again the chicken singly mom!). I did pay the stipend to ensure that we get the shortest flight both ways. I have also been checking the sites and airfare from Baltimore to Barcelona is not cheap and not direct!!! :dance3: :rotfl2:

We are also planning on going to Paris and Disney after the cruise. We are looking at Eurorail. Let me know if you hear anything else about a Disney run trip.

Call me crazy ... but I just booked Adventures by Disney London/Paris trip for before the cruise. The tour ends in Paris on July 6. I take the train from Barcelona and we set sail the next day.

Like Dylcal ... I too am a single mom and like to have things planned out for me. I figure this will be a one time trip for my daughter and I so I want to do it right. The tour looks awesome and covers everything we want to see and do!

Let's see ... how much do you get you for a pint of blood ?? :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I'm jealous... That sounds like an awesome trip!!!! I'm going to want to hear all about the ABD portion while we're cruising. I agree - the tour looks like it covers everything.

Hi All - gee, I didn't realize I'd been gone from this thread for so long! Sorry 'bout that.

Jeff - a photo album for our cruise would be great! Let us know when you have it set up and I'll forward you a pic of my family. :) BTW, I should be able to remember your name because my DH is Jeff, also!

Dylcal - we're already on DCL's "interest list" for a Paris add-on. So far, nothing has been set up yet that I know of. They'resupposed to call me when they have some info so we can let them know whether or not we'll do it. Of course, it all depends on how much. We also booked our air thru DCL. According to the info on our reservation online, they have us arriving in Barcelona on the 7th and going straight to the ship. I've thought about calling and expressing concern about arriving in time and see if they'd get us in a day early instead. It makes me a tad bit nervous that there isn't any leeway in case any of our flights are cancelled or delayed. Plus, I'd much rather arrive a day early and get a good night's sleep while trying to adjust to the new time zone.

MJGirl - I think that's awesome you were already able to book the Paris part of your trip! It sounds perfect. It definitely would be a dream come true trip!

I haven't even had time to read through the big Med Thread yet... Guess I'd better get on it!

We are in, and just can't wait....sailing with DW DD (15) DS (12). July please hurry up and get here......please...

OK... Got it going. We've got two sailing parties represented so far. I think we'll password protect this a bit down the road, but I only list first names on the photo site. This will be the thrid cruise we've had one of these. It helps everyone get to know faces before the cruise. Everyone interested in adding a picture can PM me a picture or let me know and I'll PM you my email address. Please include the caption you would like with your picture. Here is the page:

This is fun! I've been researching ports all night. This is going to be an awesome trip! I think I'll start a blog with all my research.

Thanks! :) We took a very last minute 3-night Wonder cruise two months ago, 7-20-06. When I say last minute, we actually made the reservation five days before we sailed! :boat: It was the DIS Cruise Board's fault... :rolleyes1 I was (and still am) reading the cruise thread daily after making our Med reservations last April, and that made me long to go on another Disney cruise soooooooooo much!!! Our last Disney cruises were in 1998 and 1999, and I wanted to see everything that had changed on the ships. It took a while to talk DH into going. I finally hooked everyone with The Flying Dutchman being docked on Castaway Cay. ;) It was a short, but GREAT trip! :thumbsup2 We were able to get our picture with Jack Sparrow right before dinner one night! He was amazing - definitely had all the mannerisms down! pirate:

Let's get this thread fired up.... I don't want to have to resort to "bumps" to keep us on the first page.

I just talked to a Disney representative that said you should plan on boarding about 1:00 pm (which means 11:30). That they want everyone on by 4:00, but you will be free to get off and return to the ship. She also said not to make flight reservations out of BCN prior to 10:30 AM. Transfers to and from the airport are $59.00 round trip.

Hi Jeff (or do you prefer Monstro) ..

Is that $59.00 quote Disney price, or standard airport prices? Just wondering?

MJ

Thanks Jeff.. Don't know if that will work from me... I'll need transfers from Hilton to ship, and then from Ship to airport. Don't know if this will be same fare or not. I am booked at the Hilton through Disney, so they may be able to help. I'm also looking at taking the overnight train from Paris to Barcelona. It gets in at 8:30 am, so if we are looking at an 11:30 boarding, this may not be too bad.

I've scanned the blog and it looks great. I will bookmark it for future. I saw your photo gallery, and will send in a photo once my weight starts dropping. Time to get serious on that. I'm starting back on the treadmill tomorrow.

By the way ... MJ stands for Mary Jane and my daughter's name is Kirstyn!

I presume that the $59 is per person. We have a family of four. Wouldn't it be a lot cheaper to just get a taxi? How far is the airport from the cruise ship? :moped:
