"Seven Seven 07" 20070707-11 Night Mediterranean Cruise

wow that is amazing. i would totally love that if my mom did that to me for a surprise.

Wow- I really like the puzzle idea too!

As far as meeting people from these boards, on our last DCL cruise (1/05), a fellow DISer told me about a great hotel to stay at the night before our cruise. She had told me online her kids ages, where they were from and that her husband was tall.

Lo and behold, the morning of our cruise in the buffet line at the hotel, I saw a family with a tall dad, a mom with red hair and a girl and boy the right age. I heard the mom talk with a New York accent and I went up to her and said, "M Cazer?" She looked at me like I was crazy but said yes and I held out my hand and said "I'm Mickeyfanmom!" We all got along so well and even went on an excursion together and had a blast!

My husband always says you never know about people you "meet" online and her husband had said the same thing, but they don't know what we know- that people on the DISBoards are FUN and GREAT people! :cool1:

You Guys are the BEST!

Deb T. I love the puzzle idea! And the money idea too!

Now I just have to keep the secret!!! I'll keep you posted with what I come up with!

THANKS!

Sherri

Hi everyone... I too love the puzzle id ! Shercara ... Did you not say something earlier about your older son speaking Italian! Why not give him them bon voyage message in Italian along with your other DCL gifts. He can translate for all of you and you can cherish the realization as it dawns on him where you are going! Just a thought!

Oooooh, MJ Girl, way to kick it up a notch! I love the idea of writing the message in Italian! :cool1:

mickeyfanmom - I have met many DISer's over the years! It's always fun to put a face with a DIS name! Most were through pin meets at WDW. But, one DISer has turned into a long-time true friendship! Way back in 1999, when there were roughly only 3,000 DIS members, I posted a request for a special coupon that had been mailed only to a few select people. Lo and behold, I immediately got a reply from RweTHEREyet, who had the coupon and offered to mail it to me right away. When the envelope arrived, not only did it have the coupon, but she had also included recent WDW theme park maps and Mickey Mouse stickers. When I looked at the return address label, I realized she lived only 20 minutes from my house!!! I brought back a thank-you gift from our trip and then arranged to meet her at a nearby mall. It turned out that we had children the same age, a great love for all things Disney, and wonderful dh's who humored us by tolerating frequent trips to WDW. Even though we both work full-time jobs, we've managed to meet for lunch 3-4 times a month over the last 7 years!!!! :sunny:

It will be fun getting to know each other through the DIS boards over the next 13 months as we try to wait patiently for our Mediterranean cruise! We will definitely have to set up a DIS meet on the ship! :cheer2:

Hi everyone! Glad to see more people here.

Shercara-that is a great present! I'd bust keeping that kind of secret.

We are booked for the cruise but not sure if we are going yet. I was wondering what airlines everyone plans to use? I really can't figure out who flies to Barcelona direct from the U.S. I don't mind changing plans in the U.S. But I'm not sure about in Europe. So I was hoping to have direct flight from the East Coast. Any ideas???

I haven't decided yet. Usually I fly out of Buffalo to save money, but I don't want to leave my car for 2 weeks, so I might bite the bullet and fly out of Toronto. (Unless I can find some nice person to drive us :rolleyes1). Flying out of Toronto costs so much more in taxes and fees that it's normally not worth it. I've done some preliminary research, and it may be cheaper to fly to Paris or London, then fly to Barcelona. I've also heard the train is a fun experience too!

Welcome aboard OurDogCisco! So glad you joined us! :cool1:

As for our family, we're just letting DCL do our air and transfers. We're not familiar at all with Europe and none of us speak any of the languages, so we decided that having Disney take care of everything for us was best for us. I'm usually the "master planner" of the family, so this should be a nice, relaxing vacation for me! :)

I only wish we could use Disney to do our air. But they don't fly out of our airport unfortunately. I don't want to fly out of SFO because it is a 2 hour drive. So I'm stuck booking the flights on my own.

Does everyone realize that in 1 hour it will be one year to our cruise :Pinkbounc :cheer2: :dance3:

Thought I would make my 100 post a special one!

:dance3: One year!!

I guess I should start working out now. :teeth:

I was thinking the same thing!!! How much do you think you gain on an 11 night cruise... I guess, I'll start tomorrow.

count us in we'll be in 5122 again can't wait!!
Our 3rd cruise!!
and thanks DVC
