Here is info from my new friend Brian in BCN, about Meson David. I also asked him for info on a Tapas restaurant that I thought I would pass along:
"Meson David is more local and kind of a dive but we always go there with groups. If you like meat order the Lechazo, young pig. It falls off the bone. Normally we all order this and I hardly eat meat basically only at this place. Also, order the Creme Catalana for desert. The neighborhood is quickly developing but still a big pick pocket area. Please do not put the thought in your head that it is dangerous but just always keep an eye on your things. It will be Friday night and there are a lot of people in town. It will be a zoo of locals and tourist, but you guys are New Yorkers and it should be no problem. Think the village pre-Guiliani but without weapons!!
Actually watch your things everywhere on the streets. It is a safe city but pick pockets are bad and they are very efficient.
I just called Meson David again but they did not answer. I think if you all showed up at 8:00 and ask for a table you should be okay. They may make you wait a while to arrange everything. Just keep in mind this is not the states and sit back and enjoy the show. They will not be organized but it is a lot of fun and inexpensive good Lechazo.
I took my parents here when they visited and I had my girlfriends B-day here. I do not want to build it up to much. It is fun if you are with a good fun group.
The best Tapas restuarant is Cal Pep in the Borne neighborhood in the city center. Amazing seafood tapas and more. Just let them bring things out for you. A little more expensive but worth it. " ( We are planning on going here tomorrow afternoon! - can't believe we will finally be there!!
)
Anyway - all sounds VERY INTERESTING - I don't think this is a very FANCY place - but the food sounds good and I am sure it will be FUN - hey, he took his parents there and had his girlfriend's b'day there too - so I am sure we will have a GREAT TIME! Hope you all agree! See you in BCN!

P.S. - Regarding transportation - he suggested we may have to take 2 cabs and to print out the address and a map for the cab drivers - so we are all set - I am not going to stress about that - It will all work out I am sure.
