Does anyone know why swimming is banned in the Seven Seas Lagoon? We used to love going swimming at the beach at the Polynesian. I had heard rumors about there being alligators in the lagoon. If that was the case, I don't think they would let those mini speed boats in there.

I heard there is a man eating Mouse that lives in the water!!!!
He wears scuba gear to answer your question

Seriously, there are alligators, and some sort of bacteria that can cause major damage to humans. I don't know why they allow the water mice, I guess they hope no one falls in. If they find an alligator over a certain foot length, they "remove" it when they catch it. The bacteria is a kind that settles at the bottom of the lake, and would be stirred up by wading and swimming.

When did they ban swimming in the Lagoon? Just curious.

Probably because there are boats that use the same water to drive on, they contaminate the water with their oil and other stuff.

Ever wonder what happens to all those rude Disney guests who get escorted out of the parks? Can you say "cement mouse ears"? ;)
