Tori's got Finals later this week (last one will be Monday, May 7th) -- then *Year One* of college done; 3 or so to go!! ;)

Mom/Daughter weekend in WDW for Mother's Day. Will be short, but sweet! :cloud9:

Going July 8-14, staying in an Arusha view w/bunkbeds for the kids.

Very excited and nervous about the whole thing. Of course we want to make the most of the week.

One question is about a "day off". IS the pool area here a place the kids (9 & 13) will be excited about spending a day at?

Congratulations on your trip! :cool1: It is an amazing place with tons for the kids to do. And adults of course.

What a wonderful way to spend Mother's Day. Best wishes to Tori on finals, I know they can be very stressful.

Absolutely -- I just asked my DD, who is 9, and she said she loves it. We are going to spend the evening of our first night there at the pool, and I'm just going to run out for sandwiches for dinner. She doesn't even want to go to Mara. We don't do a whole lot of swimming at home, so it's a treat to spend more than 30 minutes at a pool. That's also a good day to do DTD. Enjoy your trip!

...agreed...

My DS finishes on the 4th - his 19th birthday!

My DSis and I will be doing Mother's Day weekend at WDW, too! My boys are running a tough mudder in PA on Mother's Day, so I figured it didn't matter if I was around, and we will get to see Peter Noone!:cloud9:

I'm glad you're able to go and help.

Will keep your friends in my thoughts and prayers. Have a safe trip and keep us posted.

Ann,

I'll keep your friends in my thoughts and prayers.:grouphug: Have a safe trip.

Kathy

Prayers....

Prayers to them and I hope things go well.

Prayers for the family.

Ann - Travel safely. I know you will bring some peace to your friends' family.

Thank you all for the thoughts, prayers and really caring. I cried when I read how you all had responded. Thank you so very much. What a wonderful group of friends we have with each other. :grouphug: Please continue with the prayers and positive thinking. This is a real tough cancer.

I am in San Diego, got here Thursday....I think. and will probably be here for at least a week to 10 days. Which is perfectly fine I will stay as long as I am needed and can help in any way. Things are ok right now, we should have more information next week and I hope a new treament plan.

Brandi - Safe trip, I am sorry I don't know or don't remember where you were going. How is the foot doing? I hope you are feeling and doing great.

Pam - I will get back to your TR as time permits, I have been enjoying every minute of it. We are waiting until things settle down here before we pick a date and ship for a Disney cruise.

Linda - Love how you post our Zebra Dome pictures every Friday. I would love to have couple tomorrow morning with my coffee. :) Thank you

Elin - How you and Bob doing?

Kathy (Johns mom) - Is there any news on the Tree of Life at AK? I have not read a paper or been online until today. Thank you for letting us know what you have found out.

Alison - You are down to just a couple of days before you leave. Gosh I hope you are still going. I have to catch up on your PTR. Will do that tomorrow after I get some sleep. Have a wonderful trip if I don't get back on to see you off before then. :thumbsup2

Laura - How wonderful that Tori will be finished with her first year of college. You must be so proud, as your should be. What a great way to celebrate Mothers Day and the end of her freshman year...a trip to WDW with you.

Happy Sunday all and cherish every moment you have with your loved ones.

I think I have the correct day of the week this time. :rotfl:

Ann, continued prayers and good thoughts for your friend. :grouphug:

Many hugs to you for being a true friend -- being "there" through thick and thin.:hug::hug::hug::hug:

My baby bro (all 6'5" of him!!) was given a dire prognosis last year when he was told stage 4, incurable non-H Lymphoma. Fast forward to last week when I was in MI and spent an afternoon with him. He is in remission and his recent tests show NED (no evidence of disease). :yay: Our prayer for him is a L-O-N-G remission. :thumbsup2

Jambo to all my friends here! You are all wonderful!

Ann - good luck to you and your friends! You are so sweet to travel so far to help them out. We had a friend who lived with us when he was terminal, before it got really bad, so I know how tough it is.

Laura - what a wonderful weekend you will have with Tori, enjoy!

Brandi - you must be busy since we haven't heard from you!

Corinna - enjoy your cruise, I think it departs this today..

We are still having a tough time and I sure hope we get on that plane day after tomorrow. Yesterday the seal on the wound vac failed. A home nurse came by (after much stress and phone calls to ERs). I hope our time in Florida goes much easier.

I have the wonderful joy of Bin Laden having been killed on my birthday (which is also the day that we are flying to Orlando). We are thinking of getting to the airport 4 hours in advance of our flight just to insure that we get through security in plenty of time. Fran is quite the anomaly with bionic knees and one hip, she already can't do the normal security walk through, but with this wound vac, I know the TSA will have a field day with her! You would think they would realize someone in her condition couldn't possibly be a terrorist!

Thanks!

We've dealt with cancer and worse in my family; it's a very trying time and have caring friends (like you!) DO make a big difference!

My oldest DS had stage IV Hodgkins when he was in 8th grade. He made it through, swam nationals in HS and college, and is now 24 and doing well! Prayers that your brother will do as well!

Congratulations on your first trip to Disney. Just remember to enjoy yourself... The kids and you both will need that down time from the parks. So plan the days at the resorts and there are many things to keep you busy there too. But again most of all just slow down and enjoy your family and being at Disney...

Alison,

First off Happy Birthday.... And yes you already made the day famous!

Yes, i do hope and pray that things get better everyday for you and fran. Planning oh the extra time for TSA sounds like a good plan.. each airport is different and my latest incident was chapstick...it set the scanner off and then lead to a pat down.. for chapstick..cherry chapstick I might add... now the screws in my foot, they did not notice...:confused3

Please have a wonderful time and I will send out prayers...

I have been busy and will be away all weekly....

I forgot to tell Ann that I am in Alabama.... For work and David is back in Maryland... :(

Prayers that everything goes well and no more issues with Fran's wound vac. I saw TSA at Detroit metro dealing with something they had never seen before and they did an admirable job. Wishing you the same luck with TSA at your airport! :goodvibes

Wishing you a Happy Birthday/Bye-bye Bin Laden Day/Safe Travels and Happy Vacation Day! :woohoo:

Linda, the last TIW event I attended was also in Norway with reserved seating to the Candlelight Processional. I love their events! :worship:

Thank you for sharing that about your DS. A very dear friend of mine also had a Hodgkins lymphoma diagnosis and was successfully treated. :thumbsup2

My bro opted to get into a "trial" through U of MI rather than go through chemo for his non-hodgkins, and from the results so far, it appears he made a very good choice! :)

Is it just me? I have to log in continually -- even sometimes mid-reply??!!!

I am not having to log in continually, but still having issues getting on here regularly. Some of them are MINE but most are with the DIS.

Ann... I love your recaps. You are so good to keep us all in line and wish us all good luck and good healing and bon voyage. Thank you so much and keep that cheery attitude with your dear friends. It will help them immensely.

This has been one of the very few weeks out of the past 75 or so where I am feeling overwhelmed. Really nothing new, just not enough sleep and continuing to try to hold everything togegther. Bob's health is fine, my work is fine, the house is fine, my friends are fine, our families are fine and there is plenty of wine here in the house to drink... I knew that you all would let me have a mild meltdown and understand. :lmao:
