I've had multiple people respond to this on a variety of different pages without anyone getting my point.

WDW has close to or over 30 resorts on property. Universal has 4 soon to be 5 maybe 6. My point? The size. Universal is no where near the size of WDW. And to me, and this is just to me not trying to force this opinion on anyone just sharing mine, I think the size helps to make it more of an escape from the real world. When I vacation, part of what I look for is an escape from the real world. I think WDW does a great job of providing that which is why they still get my vacation dollars.

As for the bus vs. boat, first off I am not going to decide my vacation on buses vs boats. But if you look at my signature, I have stayed at only resorts where some sort of boat transportation is an option too. Most of my trips have been to FW or WL where we take a boat to the MK. Yes, we have to take buses too, but the buses don't bother me. When you have an area as large as WDW you need something more than a boat to get around. Universal can have boats everywhere because they are so small.

I've been to WDW, DL and Universal each many times. If you stay on property at any of these, you feel totally separated from the outside world. You don't notice any of the surrounding metropolis because it is quite well hidden by outbuildings, parking lots, roads, etc. You'd be very surprised what an excellent job has been done.

Maybe so, but you aren't getting other people's points either.

People keep calling you out on your opinions of Universal because you've never actually been there. Nobody is saying you have to like it or try it, people are just saying you really have no leg to stand on when you try to argue how Universal feels.

I think I am allowed to be happy with my WDW and have my opinions. I'm not forcing them on anyone so who really cares if I have no leg to stand on.

I joined this thread because people were saying WDW will see their attendance drop and I didn't believe that and stated my opinions why. I may be wrong, but I think other people think like I do.

Nobody has said to me though that Universal is larger than WDW in size, which was the original point I was trying to bring up. WDW is larger and has a lot more on property. I like that.

You're not forcing your opinion on anyone. But you're complaining that we "don't get" what you're saying. We get it. You prefer Disney's resort as whole over Universal so you can escape the real world. What others (like Mad Hattered) are trying to point out is that you've never experienced whether Universal provides a similar escape so you can't really judge if Disney does a better job with the escape from the real world.

Nobody said you aren't allowed to be happy with WDW and have your opinions. That doesn't mean people aren't allowed to comment when you share those opinions. That's how having opinions works, everyone gets to have them, not just you.

I don't think I ever said that I know for sure what Universal is like. I shared what I think of it from the outside looking in. It could be great, I think I have said that before. But, I still am going to stick with WDW because I still love it there. And my original point was that don't think everyone is going to go running off to Unviersal because for some on the outside looking in it is not appealing. I think for some WDW fans it looks unappealing from the outside, and it seems that we all may be wrong but hey, we are still going to stick with WDW.

I know my ideas of Universal are probably wrong since I have never been there, but my point was to share the ideas of what Universal looks like from the outside looking in and why people will not abandon WDW for it despite a lack of rides as quickly as some would think. I was just inserting a different viewpoint and idea. I wanted people to see why some WDW would not be running away from it anytime soon no matter the ride situation.

Disney's official line has gone from spring 2014 to just 2014, that is the most updated news anyone has on 7DMT.
