There is zero reason it can't be open Saturday.

How could you possibly know this? I saw reports that the swinging mechanism wasn't working today, so clearly it's not 100%.

There is no reason they did not know 6 months ago when this ride was going to be done on the exact day.

Have you ever managed or even participated in a large undertaking?

Hi, you must be new here. This is how Disney does things. Big hoopla and excitement. Not everyone is on the Disboards so they use media events like this to spread the word.

I read that as the riders are the applicants. Not a training for cast members.

Yes, that "training" is talking about whatever the app or website will do come 14 days from now. It's not really training for anything.

According to Inside the Magic's FB Page, the official date announcement will be tomorrow, with FP+ being offered tomorrow or Saturday! All good things, all good things....

Never going to be able to sleep tonight waiting to find out and hoping it will be open before I leave to come home on the 20th!!! I have a feeling it's going to be a race to get fast passes once they are released. I guess I'll be refreshing this page a lot!

Yes, this a game to get your miner name. I got Classy, go figure. Then you can down load a PDF on how to mine gems and ride in the train cars. Nice theming link to the attraction. "Miners wanted in 14 days" = ride opens in 14 days. Just a guess on my part, but if you go to the site it is so obvious. So, maybe, soft opening during the next 2 weeks?

Sigh, this is just killing me! I will be there next week, so close but likely missing FP+ and the actual opening. Perhaps we will get lucky with a soft opening? I was last at WDW in April 2012 and thought for sure when we planned this trip this ride would have been open by now.

I got the same thing. It says 14 days before you start but then it told me to come back in 18 days. Hmmm I just hope it is open by august. Haha
