We saw it in NYC about 5 years ago. My DS was 6 at the time and loved it. I don't think I would take a child younger than 4 simply because it is a full-length, 2+ hour show.

We still play the CD all of the time. It's a great show.

I saw it on Broadway years ago, shortly after it opened I think. I LOVED IT. I took my (then) teenage brother with me and we both grinned from ear to ear during it.

I would take any child that could sit still for 2+ hours. I think the preschool age is pushing it but 1st grade up would likely do well. Content is fine for all ages, if I remember right.

The local community theater put on a wonderful production last month. My 3 year old niece saw it 3 times, but she is almost 4 (she turns 4 in August), plus her 7 year old sister was a Who in the production and her mom played the violin in the orchestra, so maybe that's why she did OK. But I think most 4 yrs olds would love it.

Well , we're taking DD2 1/2 to see the Lion King with us in 2 weeks so I guess we'll see how that goes and then go for Seussical if it works out. I'm sure she'll get tired of sitting through Lion King, but everytime the commercial comes on she starts jumpin up and down and saying I wanna see Lion King. Thanks for the info all.

Our school district does an all-district musical every other year. This year was "the year" and the musical was "Seussical". It was BY FAR the best production we've EVER seen. I mean, it beat out "real" productions we've seen! The audience was families and I saw kids down to age 3 or so. My 6 yo was enthralled (we also knew the lead which helped).

We already had the CD so she sang along w/most songs.

It is a REALLY great show.

I noticed you're from Jersey. Are you thinking of going to see it at Plays In The Park? If so, one of my best friends is in it. She's an extra, but she's loving every second of it. No one else from school is in this production, yet a lot of them are part of the groups "summer stock" of actors. They all have a great time at rehearsals. From what I remember when I saw it years ago with my cousins was it was a lot of fun, kind of long for younger kids, but the fun evens out the sitting for a while. Hope you guys enjoy Lion King!

I have tickets to take my almost 8 yo son to see this in August! We are both really excited!

I saw the traveling version. After they suposedly "re-tooled" it to make it flow better. I absolutly HATED it. The music was horrible, the script was horrible. I think my dd was about 5 at the time. It was about the closest I've ever come to walking out of a show. (I give credit to the actors, they did try so hard. They just had "nothing" to work with.)

As a big Seuss fan I'd be interested in knowing more about this show! Any links? (Of course its never likely to come to the UK but perhaps whilst I'm on holiday in the States sometime....? ;))

Cheers!

No, where is plays in the park? It's coming to the Ritz Theater in Oaklyn.

My local community put on Suesical and it was very very good. My child loved it and I'd highly recommend it.

We just saw a local production. It was very good! I took my kids - they are 6 1/2 and almost three (next month) and they really enjoyed it. I can't say they sat still through the whole thing, cuz DD got up to dance for some of it! ;) But they were awake and attentive through the whole show, which started at 7:30 pm.

The second Act is a little slower than the first, but it picked up at the end. And DS spent a lot of time on the way home telling us how it was different from the books! But we had a great time. :)
