So as most of you know we aren't doing on on-site Disney wedding, but an Orlando wedding at a nearby hotel. We've been discussing things and decided that after our wedding weekend at our hotel, we will be staying the following week on Disney property to enjoy the parks (and the dining plan-we loved that the last time we stayed on property)! We were going to stay and enjoy the parks with our family anyway, but now I think we will just do it on Disney property instead of the vacation villas we were originally going to stay at. But, now we have to decide where we want to stay? We loved the hotels we stayed at the past 2 times we stayed on property (Carib Beach & Coronodo)--but we found ourselves going to eat at the other hotels 99% of the time when we weren't in a park. But, we did like when we went to the parks the buses only went to our hotel. When we'd go to some of the other hotels (like Boardwalk), the bus had to make quite a few stops. I know it's not really that big of a deal, but I was just thinking about it.

I think we've visited all the other hotels and loved them, but how do we choose where to stay? :confused3

P.S. Just to throw it out there, I think they should make dog-friendly hotels on property. We have no idea what we're going to do with our little ones now that everyone who would watch them will be there with us--and we can't kennel them!

Well do you want to stay Deluxe or moderate...what is your style? I do not recommend POR because we had horrible bus service there and IMO the place does not feel like Disney. It's gorgeous but we really just did not like it there at all.

The end of our honeymoon we switched to the POLY..LOVED it!!! if you are concerned about busses I would pick a monorail resort. The monorail is your best friend!

AKL has one bus stop so they don't stop at other resorts..umm I remember the POLY busses stopping at the Contemporary a few times too.

Hmm...I don't know which we prefer. We've stayed at Carib. Beach just because we liked the idea of the theme LOL and Coronodo we stayed at because my fiance had a conference there. Both were nice and I didn't have a prob with either, but I think we'd like to stay at a place we haven't stayed at. We visited the Port Orleans ones just to see them and didn't really care for them. We're def. not into any of the "Pop" ones. We went to a dinner show at Poly and that seemed nice. All the ones around the monorail seemed really nice when we went to eat at them. The monorail only helps with Epcot and Magic Kingdom though, right? So we'd still have to take a bus to the other parks? We haven't seen Animal Kingdom Lodge, so that can def. be an option. Is that the one where the animals are right outside your room? We stopped by Fort Wilderness when we were there last and it looked really pretty all lit up at night. There are just so many!

Yeah if you get a savannah view at AKL you can see the animals.

The monorail does only go to Mk and Epcot...you still need to take a bus to AK and DHS..the busses were fine at the POLY.

I like CBR too....The boardwalk area resorts are nice because you can walk to DHS and Epcot...take a boat ride too. Go to allears.net and check out all the resort photos..maybe that will help you.

I know the boardwalk just refurbed some rooms....the Poly and AKV have the new flat screen tvs so that is cool. Not like you will be in the room the whole time but that is still a plus.

Oooh! Thanks for the website! I can't take it everytime I see DHS...it will always be MGM to me. LOL.

No problem!!! Let us know which resort you pick :)

If you really want to be central, the Boardwalk, Beach Club/Yacht Club, Swan/Dolphin area is the place to be IMO! (It's why I own DVC at Boardwalk Villas)

The price is higher, but hey, it's prime location.

Walk right into Epcot (or take the ferry there).
Walk to MGM (It's a nice 20 minute walk, we don't mind it, but some do. You can take the ferry there as well).
Bus to MK.
Bus to AK.

And yeah I have no idea what DHS is whenever I see that... total blank lol. Takes me a few minutes to remember it's MGM hehe.

Good luck picking a resort ... I just wanted to say that I totally agree with pet friendly hotels!! I don't know what to do w. mine either!
