Chili, the thing is that our children are so spread out in age that 4 bunks would work out great for us. Even if we did have to fold out the couch, most of them are so easy to put back up that it wouldn't bother us. I just don't want to have air mattresses in the floor, the table set up as a bed...etc. With 4 bunks, we have one for each of our dds and then our two youngest ds's can sleep on one, while our older ds said he wanted to sleep on the couch LOL which is fine with us....again since it's easy to set back up. Still, he would have a bunk if he wanted one and the girls could share the couch...etc. I'm going to check out RVDirect...thanks for mentioning it

Never pay sticker...especially in this economy, dealers have some good deals out there. Ditto on RV.net-tons of good info there.

One thing about TT length. It is measured from tip of hitch back so a 30' would actually be 27 in trailer length.

Personally, I like dealing with the local RV dealers. We have a few family owned businesses that give great service. I have spoken to some who have bought factory direct and thru rvdirect and have had a world of problems trying to get warranty service.

If our vehicle had the towing capacity, we'd be all over the Sprinter 311BHS

There's a whole extra room with a slideout in the back with bunks, a second couch, storage, TV, etc. Add in the U-shaped dinette (love those!) and the slideout and we felt confident we could happily live in this this with our 3 dogs long term.

Oh, and the it weighs in around 8100 lbs.

The folding couches I have run into are universally uncomfortable for anyone over about 10 years old. Our DD (7) likes to sleep on it once in a while, but I wouldn't impose that on anyone else. Just make sure you try before you buy. We thought the Jack-knife couch on our previous Jayco hybrid would be a fine bed for an overnight where we didn't want to pop out the front bed, but it turned out to be so bad that it ended up being one of the biggest deciding factors in our decision to trade that one in for a new TT.

You'll find lots of experiences with RVDirect shared on rv.net. Do a search there and read for yourself. %90 of the experiences seem positive - about the same (if not more) than experiences of those who bought local. I bought local though. I liked my local dealer very much, and wanted to give them the business. I might buy from RVDirect the next time - I haven't read anything that would scare me away from them. They seem to have a reputation for very good service. If you have a distribution location close by, it works even better.

Not true, as is evident in some of the previous posts re. overnighting in Walmarts near WDW. Whether or not overnight parking is allowed is subject to not only individual Walmart policies, but local government rules and regulations. I seriously doubt Walmarts in Nevada and Arizona encourage the unemployed to homestead in their parking lots. By the way, what does this have to do with this thread? Colston, is that you?

Actually none of the WalMarts anywhere near WDW allow overnight camping - it's actually a county ordinance. (I believe the county Daytona is located in is the same).

We once parked along the outskirts of a WalMart in Kissimmee in the middle of the afternoon, and before we could get out of the car security came racing over to tell us we couldn't stay there overnight.

Hello. 2 years we used our 30' class c solely to sight see. It was never an issue to unhook. Power cord, sewer hose, garden hose and cable tv. We never stored it all just left it at the site. CW carries little signs that say "site occupied". With two young kids it's a plus to have "our" home away from home with us whether we spent the day in a museum or zoo or theme park. Now that we own a 32' class A I prefer the A over the C. They're are easier to drive, less blind spots, turning radius and overall less tiring than the class C. They're both the same to back up, easy after a few times. Not that a C is hard or tiring to drive per sey but once you get over the intimidation factor of an A you soon realise it's different in a good way. We've now used our A 2 years now and love it. You always have the option of a car rental, most will pick you up at the campground your staying. Just remember it's a lifestyle, either you love it or hate it.

Sadly, car rental isn't something that comes easy for a family with five children.....most are compact or mini vans. With 2 carseats in the back 'bench' seat in a minivan, we'd have to leave one kid on the hood...LOL

We've been looking at TT for a few weeks now and the quotes we're getting from different dealerships (with a 200 mile radius and online quotes from further states) are CRAZY. We really like the KZ's and we've gotten quotes from 30,000 (which is supposed to be 10,000 off MSRP) to 19,900 for the same exact trailer (new). It's very confusing when you're dealing with dealers online, but most we've kind of checked the BBB and such on.....so maybe it's all legit.

Anyone buy a trailer online? It just seems like such a HUGE purchase.

We bought our trailer online/over the phone no problem. It was a little stressful at the time but I would do it again. We ordered it how we wanted it and saved over $8000.00 from what they are charging here in Texas. I actually know several people who have ordered there trailers from Indiana and saved anywhere from $5000.00 to $10000.00. Hope this helps.

We bought ours on e-bay. We're in OH and it was in GA. I did the research and found it was a very reputable dealer. Contacted them and asked directly what their best price was because I didn't like doing on online auction thing. The price I got back was way too low to pass up so we arranged the whole deal through e-mails including the hitch for our truck and some mods we wanted (slide cover, new pin box, etc.) The dealership was great. They have a KOA right next door (Valdosta KOA) and we stayed there two nights looking for anything that needed fixed and before we left for home they fixed all the little things we found. It was all-in-all a great experience.

Our friends did the same thing through e-bay, but their dealer was in IN.

It can be done, you just have to know what you want and make sure it's all arranged and ready to go when you pick up your TT because it could save you a ton.
