...the interface is horrible, it took way longer than it should have. Planning this far in advance makes me miserable. I really can't think of one positive thing about this except it makes DL seem much more inviting. This was really an unmet need according to Disney, getting rid of any shred of spontaneity on vacation? I really can't believe people like this new system.

Many here would agree with you.

At least Disney has acknowledged some of the problems and has
modified some of the more severe limitations with the per day FP+ reservations,
but the system is still very clunky and difficult to navigate.

I agree with you! It was so easy to walk up and get a fastpass. And now instead of walking to get the fastpasses at the ride, you're walking to find a kiosk to get additional FPs.

I also just did mine yesterday, and I feel the exact same way. We are a group of 6 (myself, husband, our two girls, and the in-laws) and it got so complicated trying to manage different sets of FPs when we wanted to take our older daughter on bigger rides and the grandparents will take the younger one on smaller rides. And why does it FORCE you to select three FP+ at the same time? I still haven't been able to figure out how to fix a situation at HS - I signed us all up for TSM, Muppet3D, and three of us for ToT (for the older daughter). But I cannot go back in and select a FP+ for the in-laws and my 3-year-old to do a different activity while we're all on ToT, because I can't just select ONE FP! I have to pick 3, and when I do that, it overrides the TSM and Muppet 3D FP we already have.

In summary, it's a giant headache and it's taking way more time than it should. Sigh.

I made mine today, my daughter and her Friend want to do A&E. I tried making FPs for all 3 at same time and it said none available so then I did everyone individually. I got 2 for first day and able to get all 3 second day. We were hoping first day would be MK day. Went to bed, woke at 4 to try again. I was able to get the 3rd one but not in the time frame as the first 2. Still I took it, fell back asleep and woke at 5:30. I was able to get the times changed from 5 and 8 to 1:20 &1;30. Well I got greedy and tried for earlier time, got first for 12:20 and bam no more available times. Great...fell back asleep and when I woke again I was able to get the 12:20 back to 1:20. But oh my gosh what a pain. And this is suppose to be the slowest time of the year?!?! I can't imagine trying this for busy times. I also cancelled the FPs for A&E on the second day. Once a trip is enough, plus this gives others the opportunity to see them also.

I have to agree. I did ours last week and did not like having to commit to the rides/times so far in advance. Even if my family wants to ride Space Mountain and I don't, I can't figure out how to get a pass on something else for me, while they're on SM. It isn't user friendly unless you are a family of robots.

:thumbsup2 I totally agree and I haven't even made my yet. It was very stressful trying to figure out what I wanted because you have to take into account what the park hours are and where/time your ADR's are. I will be making our FP+ in a few weeks and I'm not looking forward to it.

I'm really sorry the new system doesn't work for many people and that they don't like it.

I signed up for my FP+ reservations yesterday and found it very easy and simple. I was able to sign up for 9 days worth of FP+ reservations and do online check-in in less than 30 minutes. I didn't find swapping times to better ones that difficult or frustrating...and swapping attractions once getting everything set up doesn't seem like it would be difficult either (though I haven't needed to do that yet).

I guess it works for me because I like having a plan and I also know how I tour the parks and it isn't difficult or stressful to figure out what rides to choose for FP+. I already had 2-3 TS reservations every day...planning rides around those seemed very easy.

I wish it was possible for Disney to have a system that everyone liked...but it seems that just isn't possible. I hope people are able to figure out how to make the system work best for them and that Disney continues to improve the their online system to make things run smoother for everyone (I have had ZERO issues with the system so far...knock on wood).

So it gets better, after spending like 2 hours working on this yesterday, I logged in and apparently nothing was saved. I'm just about ready to give up on this. I am really regretting buying APs this year.

The website is having trouble today. I made mine this morning, but they're not
showing up. Other people on the boards are having the same problem. I called, and they said that all my FPs are there and should show up later today. I hope so. I had a problem on the last screen where it said next, but it wouldn't go to next screen, so I could never click done. I didn't know if they took, but when I called, they said they were all there. I'm not happy with this either.

I agree for a large company they have a terrible IT . Always website trouble and trouble with apps. Today it refused to accept my password. Had to reset it. Then fast passes missing!

We are planners. I knew which park we wanted to be which day, have our dining reservations squared away, etc. But where it got complicated for me is that we are a party of 6, and not all 6 of us want to always do the same attraction. For the rides where all 6 of us DO want to do the same thing, it was pretty simple. But it really does get frustratingly complicated when you try to split your FP reservations up.

For the life of me, I don't understand why it always forces you to choose 3 FPs when you may only need one....

I think you were doing something wrong here... I managed the FP+'s for my family and a linked family with no problem at all. Yes it's weird you have to start by picking a block of 3 rides. The system just wants you to start with 3. Fine. Once you get past the mental block that this seems to be, then it's a piece of cake.

You pick a group of 3 for your whole party. It can be whatever, cuz you'll change them to what you want.

Then you go and change individuals.

It really worked flawlessly for me in May. I could get ppl grouped how I wanted easily... I used the "copy" feature a lot... like I'd move one person who was going to splinter off to do other things, then the ppl that would go with him I'd use the copy feature and bam they copy to his FPs.

I could change them around on my phone, the PC, anywhere, and I changed them around constantly just for fun or I'd get an idea how to reorganize a day and switch them all up again.

Getting more FPs in the parks was a breeze too. This was May... maybe it's worse now that it's summer? Technically at least, it worked basically as I'd expect it to, aside from the weirdness of having to first pick a block of 3 rides.

I think the block thing is more to rail ppl toward some less popular rides? And also to get the non-computer savvy ppl to pick their 3. You pick a group of 3 and the system sets up 3 rides for you which is doable by even the most non-computer savvy person. Then if you want more precise control you can go in and tweak away.

I completely agree with what is said above.........although I haven't done my FP+ selections yet.......the system is what it is..........I guess we'll see how I feel next Thursday? :confused3

The one thing I don't understand is that, Disney, does force you to take 3 FP+ selections, but they DO NOT require you to make "Mandatory" selections (I'm not talking about tiering here!). Now many infer they MUST make these selections to get on the best rides............not really though. Now for A&E and maybe 7DMT you do............. but for most others, waiting in line can be done! (now there are always exceptions so no flames because I don't take into account the mryid of reasons this would be a problem for you)

Now.............. was the paper FP system better........many say it was.......one thing for sure it was "unknown" and "only accessable at the parks". Which I guess many people felt was fairer :confused3 Unfortunately the deed is done........it is what it is................don't have it ruin your vacation!!! :)

Here's a good example of what I'm running into.

On Animal Kingdom day, I booked all 6 of us for FP+ for Kahli River Rapids, Killimanjaro Safari and Expedition Everest.

But - come to think of it - my 3.5 year-old can't ride Expedition Everest, because she's too young. So - I'd like to cancel the EE FP+s for her and grandma/grandpa and instead, get a different FP+ for them to take her to do something else.

I cannot find a way in the system how to let me do this without wiping out all of my FPs that day. If I go in and try to replace those EE FPs with something else for those three people, it forces me to pick three attractions and they automatically override my existing Kahli River Rapids and Killmanjaro Safari FPs. Which, we want to keep, because all 6 of us are going on those together.

I hope that makes sense. If there's a way around this that I'm not finding, I would love to know about it - thanks in advance!

You can definitely do exactly what you are describing. I have done it and so have many many other people.

It is possible that the system is so "buggy" today that it isn't letting you do it. I would wait an hour or a day and try again.

Oh dear this just sounds painful to me.

You would think with all the money they spent they would have made it more user friendly, especially for bigger groups who might need to split up at some point.

My parents went when they were still doing the testing phase and they were underwhelmed by the whole process. To them it felt like they were doing too much back and forth around the park to make their reservation times. They did not like being tied into a schedule like that.

It should not be this difficult and time consuming to plan a vacation.

I definitely did this when I booked my fastpasses. You have to modify existing fastpasses and check off the names you want to change and choose a new attraction and time. I did fastpasses for 9 and it took me a really long time but it's definitely possible to do that

As others have said -- totally doable. You don't go into Select FastPasses where you get the new random group of three. Select FP will always select a new batch and replace the old ones. You want to go into Modify FastPass. Or you can go to your Itinerary, find the FP you want to change, and change it there... or you can pull it up on your phone, and hit change... then pick the new ONE attraction to replace it, then pick the applicable people you want to change it for. It is simple unless the system is just down today. Make sure you're going into Change / Modify, not Select.
