It's a great show isn't it? We stumbled across it one day and it has become one of our favorites. We are all now big fans of Laurie Berkner as well thanks to that show.
Well, I 'm convinced! Actually, I have no problem with the videos, and figure they will be well made, etc. I am just irritated with the rationalization.
And I had no idea people would be snarly about it! Lesson learned!
Eek Gads! Kind of harsh! It was a conversation starter about a company that has jumped ship from looking out for kids and education as opposed to making money.
Sorry you think it is harsh, it just seems to me that people are getting their panties in a wad over nothing. It is not like they are inserting subliminal messages in their dvds, they are simply entering a profitable market. No one is being forced to buy anything. If you object, don't buy it. If the dvds don't sell, they won't make anymore.
My dad has worked for 25 years at a public television station and I get very tired of the public tv bashing. They don't make tons of money and the vast majority of viewers do not subscribe, if they did, the stations wouldn't have to have pledge every five minutes.
For decades, CTN made quality programming on a shoestring and now tht they are trying to broaden their market they are villans. I just don't get it.
But I wasn't bashing PT. And my panites are not wadded in the least. They aren't villains, but they are hypocritical. Their primary goal is not what all of the experts say is best for children, but to make a buck. Perhaps it is my fault for having placed them on a higher level in the first place.
