We are thinking of taking our 2 1/2 year old to Sesame Place this summer. The website said that it is about 5 hours from Boston. Not too bad of a ride for us. I was wondering if anyone has been and can offer any info. We would like to stay maybe 2 or 3 nights. Can anyone suggest a hotel near by? And any info. on the character breakfasts would be great too!

WE took my grandkids 3/6 and was very disappointed it is mainly a water park and only has one show. this was in 1999. so it may be different now.

J/T is right.....It is mostly a water park....(not worthy of 2-3 days for a 2 yr old) We took my daughter when she was 4 and most of the slides and such we for older kids......

When they first opened (in the 80's) it was more kid oriented with land type stuff... (i had my 8th or 9th birthday there and can remember many neat attractions that no longer exist) but now has evolved into something else.....

It is basically a little kids waterpark with the sesame theme. There are 2 or 3 shows one being "elmo's world" which is just like the the tv show. We have gone two times, when DD was 2 and then when she was 3 with DD1. DH wants to bring them back again this year. There is a lot of interaction with characters, DD has great pics with Telly, Elmo, cookie monster, rosita and Oscar. There is a lazy river, wading pools, slides, and a few dry attractions as well. DD's favorite was a huge "bed" that you jump on. I liked the fact that the kids jump in groups, old ones and then the younger set so you don't have to worry about your kid getting trampled. There is couple of rides, obstacle courses, huge ball pits and a big parade, can't compare to Disney of course but very cute!! DDs loved it there. Tickets are pricey around $35 a person. Your little one would pay as well, that part is crappy. But the good side it gives you two days for the price of one. The food is disappointing, however. Last time, we left the park and went across the street to Taco Bell for lunch.

Can't help with hotel rooms as we stay about a 1/2 hour away because we make a week of it. Philly, Sesame Place and NJ aquarium, so we stay central to all three. I know if you go on the website, there are hotel packages.

All in all, we would definitely go back. Maybe this year if we can squeeze another weekend trip after Storyland in NH. Have you been there?

We have not brought our son to Storyland yet. I have pictures of myself there when I was about 3 yrs. old, but don't remember anything about it. Is it any good?

I take my nieces to Sesame Place once or twice a summer - only because we live pretty close to it and they are young. But let me tell ya, it's a relatively big rip-off. The prices are outrageous (they consider anyone over 2 years old to be an adult) and the place is pretty dirty. Disney it ain't, if you know what I mean.

We went back in October, and got our picture taken with Elmo. The kid inside the costume must have had an iPod on, because all you could hear was rap music blasting from inside Elmo's head. Definitely ticked me off because my 3 year old niece took notice of the loud music and was puzzled by it. It ruined the excitement for her.

Do yourself a favor and go to Hersheypark instead.

It is not worth a 5 hour drive to go there unless you are just stopping for the day on your way to Hershey or something. A lot of the water rides are to big for a 2 1/2 year old and the little pool there was over run with bigger kids from summer camps running through horsing around. I didn't think it was the cleanest place either...
