Not to make this political, I certainly don’t mean to, however With the temperature the way it is in the US today I would take every precaution I could. If you can get a prescription for them, I certainly would. If you can get a doctors note as well, even better. Take it in original packaging. Maybe I’m over cautious, but I just don’t like what’s going on. Better safe than sorry.

Normally I wouldn't be worried but I am.
I will ask my doctor for a note and script when I see her next week.

Yes, do that. However it’s not something I would truly worry about. I travel with a large ziploc bag of pills, no joke the bag is full, and never once has anyone questioned it or even pulled it out of my bag. As long as everything is in its proper packaging whether that be it’s OTC package or prescription bottle with label it’s all fine. You are permitted to travel with a ‘reasonable amount for personal use’. This is not the sort of controlled substance they are concerned with.
