Sesame Place Ride Accessibility Program

My family and I will be taking our DS(4 Autistic) to Sesame Place. I have contacted them about what they offer for children like DS and also read into their Ride Accessibility Program. Anyone have any recent experience with this? They wrote me in an email saying DS qualifies for half price tickets for those with special needs and a pass kinda like Disney's DAS card if I am reading correctly. Anyone have tips and tricks we can follow? :goodvibes

I'll report back on how our trip went if anyone is interested. Also let me know of any questions you like me to keep an eye out for answers to.

Unless things have changed in the last few years, there accessibility pass is really only helpful on the dry rides. You go through the exit. For the water rides it's horrible. You have to wait till someone walks you up to the beginning of the line, and there were times we waited longer for someone to walk us up to the front to line then the the amount of time it would take if we would've actually waited in the line. Then you have to put up with all the stared and comments as you're being walked ahead of the line. It gets old very fast, and we finally gave up and stop using it.

We had a great time at Sesame Place yesterday. We got a half price ticket for our DS(4). Just told them at the ticket window that we needed a child's disability ticket and no questions asked they printed one up for us. The rest of us purchased our tickets online at home before we left. For their ride accessibility program you go to the Welcome Center just inside the gates on the left side. Their disability program is like their Magic Queue but they do not require for you to pay for it. They asked what DS's height was and all our info (phone, address, etc..) so that he was on file and makes it easier for when we return. They then gave us a wristband for DS to wear if he could tho it was not mandatory but you did need to show it and the print out they gave you at the exit of the rides for you to be granted access. We did a good number of the rides so much more then we would have been able to if we didn't have this pass. We tried to get into one of the shows (10min to showtime) but it was over filled and exited with a number of other families that couldn't find seast. We never did try to get into another show saying we will make that a priority next visit.

The removable numbers on the wristband are for three of the water rides (Slimey’s Chutes, Sky Splash, and Sesame Streak) . I believe that since it is such a problem getting you to the front of those lines they only guarantee at least one ride. We only did Slimey’s Chutes and we had to hand the number 2 from the wristband to an attendant by the tubes and she took it and escorted us thru the packed and tight line up to the top. we had to drag our tubes up with us which was quite difficult. Yes you do get the stares and even one guest questioned why we were be escorted up and I simply told them special needs child. A shrug and an ok from them and we continued trying to get our tubes up the stairs and by all the people. Let me say the water there is freezing not heated at all.
