Has anyone else noticed an increase in the number of service dogs at the parks? We were there last week and saw more than ever before. At some point, Disney will probably have to implement designated "relief" areas for dogs!

We noticed that during our recent Trip too. I also noticed a couple of relief areas that I hadn't noticed on other Trips.

I saw hardly any service dogs during 4 months of working at Magic Kingdom. That being said, I think they are becoming more popular across the country as they are being trained for more and more disabilities.

Each park has service dogs areas, also I have seen a lot being used by CM which I had never seen before

We were at the Magic Kingdom on Saturday, Sept. 26th and saw 6 service dogs with one family. My husband and I watched the family take care of each dog, feeding them and giving them water and were wondering why they had that many. Another guest asked them as they went past and were told that the family trains service dogs, and that's what they were doing that day. If you were there Saturday also, that would explain it.

There have always been service dog relief areas at every park. However, service dogs are actually allowed to relieve themselves in and grass area as long as their handler cleans up after them.

Where did you see CMs using them? I've never seen a CM with a service dog as most positions would not work with one. I guess merchandise, greeters, and hotel staff could use them.

We saw one dog laying under whatever that little cart was on the left as you enter the International Gateway and walk towards England but have no idea if it was a service dog, a security dog, or something else. There were only two CMs present and no guests. There was no special markings or vest on the dog at all. It was a large poodle or poodle mix and we didn't even know if it was real at first, it was just under the cart thing.

We saw it later in the day laying over by the model train near Germany with no one anywhere near it. It really looked like some stray had wondered in and was hanging out at Epcot like it was a public park.

Beyond that odd observation we didn't see any other pets of any kind in the parks. We were hoping we would see an emotional support water buffalo but no luck.

At DHS and Epcot, the CM was just walking around with the dog. I didn't really pay attention to the costume so not sure where she worked.

We saw the same family! I assumed they were trainers, but didn't know for sure.

I saw quite a few services dogs last year and this year. I think it's a good time for people who need them (as opposed to summer or christmas with the crowds) but there were a few who were clearly suffering from the heat and could've done with a few rounds on CoP! I also saw Bonnet Creek Sheriff drug dogs (2 Beagles) at Kidani Lodge with their handlers who were both puppies in training

LOL! CoP and Ellen's Energy Adventure (aka Ellen's Napping Adventure) should install special doggie beds!

There are indeed marked relief areas for service dogs.,

One I saw by frontier land with a post with green bags for the owners to.clean up and a trash can.

I add I'd not see a dog using g it but the trash can was partly full.

AKK

I never noticed them! I'll have to be on the lookout next time.

When we were in WDW in May there was a training exercise going on at the MK bus stop for at least 10 service dogs. They were practicing waiting in line and getting on the bus. They were taking pictures and posing.
