Service dogs and getting around

So we are headed down in November 2025! It will be my 4th trip (but will feel like a first timer again since it was 2009 when I was last there) and my husbands first time and he will have his SD with him. We will be staying at PO-FQ, I know there is the boat to DS, and bus elsewhere. My question is how do you who use a SD navigate the bus? Do you try and get on last if there is room, or do you get on first and claim space for the SD? I remember them being packed at times.
