We had Mirka and her assistant (I can't remember his name right now) the last time we were on the Magic, both of which were absolutely amazing and I want to try to get at least as good of a server on the Wonder for our cruise in October, so I have two questions:
- Does anyone know if Jose from the Philippines is still a server on the Wonder?
- And secondly does anyone have a recommendation of a good server on the Wonder in the event he isn't?
- There are no kids on this trip
- We are a party of 4 and all have food issues
- Some things that our server and assistant did that were great on the cruise on the Magic:
- The first night, one person in our party tried to order the basic chicken dish because they didn't see anything that looked good on the menu, our server told her no, she won't like it because it is dry and rubbery with no flavor. She then found her something that she absolutely loved (I don't remember what it was though). She was blunt about it, but in a way that was nice and set a great tone for the rest of the cruise.
- The first night all four of us wanted French Onion Soup, but due to various dietary restrictions none of us could, but she got it modified for us for the next night.
- Provided menus at the end of each meal to order for the next day (Obviously this didn't happen on the first day, I don't know what we might be able to do to make that one easier)
- Two members of our party have issues with beef and pork (makes them very ill) and when they tried to order certain desserts (like cheesecake), she told them no because they use an animal based gelatin for said dessert (whoever heard of using gelatin in a cheesecake? No wonder I don't like the cruise's cheesecakes.....lol) that contains beef and/or pork products. We later came to find out she has several food allergies herself and so she is very aware of everything that is in what she eats and treats any of her passengers with food allergies the same as she would herself.
- This is in addition to the games and such that they would play.
