I saved up and want to buy one. Every store is sold out in-store and online!!

Still??

So frustrating.

Hmmm, maybe the time of year? We bought ours off season, and they were everywhere...

Where exactly are you looking becuase I have not seen a store sold out for years.

Kristine

Chicago. I called everywhere within reach and everything online says back-ordered. Sometimes online it would say the store had it in stock, then I would call and they'd say they did not have it in stock.

Best Buy
Target
K-Mart

Any other suggestions? I even tried Gamestop.

I'd rather not buy a used one.

They are sold in where I am. I work at Target and we haven't had any Wii's since about the beginning of Jan. Wii fit comes in every so often but no Wii for awhile now.

I just had a quick look and they are sold out at Amazon - Best Buy - Target - Walmart and not a mention of it on Nintendos site. I wonder why though. I wonder if Costco has any.

I bought mine at Sears right before Christmas in ship to store and had no problem.

I bought mine after Christmas and also had difficulty finding them. I was able to get one on Amazon.com though. Sorry to hear they're sold out.

The Target by me (Bowie, Md) had about a dozen of them on Friday morning.

Good luck & hope you find one soon!!

I remember about two years ago around this time Wiis were hard to find. I knew a few people who wanted to buy one but they had a hard time finding one for a few months during the winter and spring. It took my sister three months to find one. She found one on ebay for $275.00. I remember in the late summer of 2008 a lot of places had Wiis. Just keep checking stores, online and calling around. Sometimes stores will put holds if you agree to go over right away.

Apparently Nintendo has actually cut down on the production of new Wii's.

Here is an article from Joystiq which talks about it. Why Nintendo has done this isn't quite certain, but it definitely seems to be true.

Nintendo seems to be taking a chapter out of the DeBeers playbook and creating an artificial shortage. It has worked for them so far.

This is being made worse because production in China pretty much grinds to a halt for 2 weeks because of the Chinese New Year. I am pretty sure that the Wii is made in China.

I'm in the north burbs and found mine at a GameStop, but that was a over a year ago. However, I did notice they had something at a Costco near me. It was one of those placeholders where you get it rung up at the register, and they bring out the console from storage.

If you don't belong to Costco, call WalMart and/or Target and ask them when they usually get shipments in. That might help.

BJ's has them. You have to take the card and ring it up but the cards were there last time I was in the store.

I got my Wii the release day (Dh and DS sat out overnight!) and I am so shocked that there s such a demand for this Wii-- still YEARS after the release.

According to DH, Nintendo sold out of their Q0110 intentories during Q0409 because of Christmas. They should be restocked around April. In the meantime, they are supposed to have them at Target today so you should check out Target on-line or go to a Target if you live near one. If they are in short supply you may want to go earlier rather than later.

OP, I see tons of them everytime I am out shopping. :confused3 I'm in PA
