I have heard people complain about the noise the bag makes- I thought it was funny. I can't believe folks didn't get used to it. Makes me want to go buy all of them I can!

Darn it, I liked that bag. My kids aren't allowed to eat chips out of the bag--they have to pour a portion into a bowl--but one of mine likes to try to sneak sometimes and with that bag there was no chance he could EVER eat out of the bag without me hearing it!

Really, we did get used to the noise which is indeed surprisingly loud. It's a shame they're getting rid of that bag. Maybe they'll come up with a quieter green alternative.

I recently bought some organic Snyder's of Hanover pretzels with new weird/loud packaging -- I wonder if it was the same material? In any event, as loud as it was, I think it's worth it if it's bio-degradable. I didn't click on the link above so I'm not sure if this was mentioned in the article, but I heard on a news story on NPR yesterday that they will keep the "green packaging" for original flavor Sun Chips.

But they're keeping the loud bag on the original flavor. Plus they said they're developing a new bio-degradable bag that doesn't make as much noise. So there's that.

Yep seriously, I bought one bag of those things and refused to buy another unless they changed the bag back. It was horrible. Even my kids who love Sunchips told me not to buy anymore.

Loud enough that it might cause hearing damage to die-hard chip eaters! It is really loud. (Loud enough that we complained among ourselves, but not loud enough that I'd complain to the company.)

I think the biodegradable bag is a great idea, so I'm sorry to see it go... but I hope that their new biodegradable packaging is ready soon and is a little "nicer" than the old stuff.
