seriously people???

I'm always amused by the claim that it takes 1,000 years for a plastic bag to degrade.
How do they know?
We haven't had plastic bags for 1,000 years yet!

Like I said, most of it is crap. I hate that word. Most of it is hogwash. That sounds better.

The bags WERE obnoxiously loud. While I applaud the company for the initiative they took, I can't believe they thought those bags were acceptable consumer product. Back to the drawing board to try again.

The thing is, there are alternatives to Sunchips, and i would imagine the bags may have cost them some of their customers to other product. If ALL chip bags were "car-crash" loud, it wouldn't be a big deal. We'd just have to deal with the loudness. So either Sunchip needs to convince the rest of the industry to follow suit, or they have to redesign their bags, or lose business.

As for the environment, in the grand scheme, the number of Sunchip bags sitting in land fills is barely a speck on the screen. Sure every bit helps, but this isn't going to be the straw that broke the environments back.

Do you want people to listen to you or not?
I'm assuming that's why she posted it, but to me, it's starting to sound like the adults in a Peanuts special.
I really don't care.
Well there you go. Then why the snide remarks at people who feel differently? You've obviously read the comments, and have reacted with some insults and name-calling. Sounds to me like you care.
who eats Sunchips at a movie theater????????? :confused3
Haven't been to a movie theater in a very long time...do they not sell Sunchips? Are they banned? I'm just wondering what's so shocking about it that the question requires 9 (I think) question marks? :confused3

This...

Between this, and a few other threads today, my neck is sore from shaking my head. I feel like I'm in Bizarro World. :lmao:

No, YOU'RE the one with the snide remarks. (Your turn..."no, YOU are.")

Your snide remarks are directed at people who feel differently than you. My snide remarks are directed at your snide remarks. See? LOL

This is too funny.

I need to get back to spraying chemicals all over my house...I mean, clean. (BTW, I use environmentally friendly products, as long as they do their job.)

And yet the world is how old? and we continue to survive.

Humans haven't always been as wasteful and greedy as we are now. That's a relatively new development (as in over the last century or so). Our ancestors actually knew how to live minimally and with little waste. We can thank them for saving the planet for us to enjoy, but we're kidding ourselves if we don't think that the things we do now will affect future generations. We already have a global solid waste crisis. We're running out of places to store our trash. And the scary thing is that most of the trash in our landfills came from the last half century!! So yes. We have survived as a planet for a really really long time. But again, no other generation of humans has ever been more abusive to the planet than we are today. And it's only getting worse. Our childrens' children are the ones who will suffer.
But we won't be around, so who cares.

ETA: Don't get me wrong. I'm not foolish enough to think that a few biodegradable chip bags are going to save the planet. But society's general attitude of personal comfort over concern for the world as a whole is discouraging.

shoot...I said "your" instead of "you're"...darnit..I knew I'd muck this up..I'm such a nitwit...

BTW--I only use environmentally friendly cleaning products if they are on sale... :goodvibes

That's another thing I do, I actually use vinegar as much as I can to clean. I am not all bad.

I agree with this...and I'm typically politically conservative!!

I stopped buying sun chips because of the bag. How am I to eat them without the kids knowing when the bag is so loud! :lmao:
