Seriously,does anyone find this attractive?

It really is warped isn't it? Lane Bryant sells plus size clothing and I've seen some ads where I just know that they have to be making the clothes especially for the models because they are obviously size 10 or less. Crazy.
That always bugged me about Lane Bryant when I was wearing their clothes. I told them to "stuff" their catalog because they didn't use plus-sized models to sell plus-size clothes! I had to tell them again and again because I would always get back on their stoopid mailing list somehow. The thing that used to crack me up was when the small models would look horrible in the clothes. If a beautiful skinny girl looks terrible, exactly how is an average pooh-sized woman gonna look?

The really sad part is that I think size 10 is considered "plus size" in the modeling community/industry.

Just goes to show you what society has done to young women! This is what is supposed to be beautiful and sexy. I feel bad for the girl!

its a skeleton with skin. Ewwww :scared:

OP, I think you should've been the model. :goodvibes

I try to not disparage others soley on their appearance, as I get pretty fed up with people sharing their unsolicited opinions that I'm too thin--but in what looks to be her emaciated state, I'd certainly be concerned for her health.

Their models annoy me too. Some of their models are bigger women and at least look like they belong in a plus-sized catalog. Others look like they are a size 8! Size 8 is NOT plus sized!! (Not that I think size 14 really is either. ) I have to attend two weddings this winter. So I have been dress shopping in hopes to get a good deal. I went into Macys and forget it. Every dress is made for skinny minnies and small chested women. I found two dresses that I could actually wear, and they both made me look like I have no figure. :sad2: I hate womens clothing these days. (rant over)

Men do not find the overly skinny girls attractive. DBF gets all the maxim and stuff magazines and sometimes I'll look through them. The girls in there are usually skinny but healthy looking. They have hips and a figure. I don't know what delusional world these runway designers are living in.

If someone posted a pic of a 250 pound woman and everyone said how unattractive and unhealthy she looked, there'd be a big fight around here.

Yes, that woman looks like she is unhealthy and could stand to gain a few pounds. But there are a great deal of people who are at unhealthy weights and I'd hate to see us making fun of all of them.

I assume that people who eat too much or too little probably have their reasons, and let it go at that. It is what is inside that counts.

You know what is really sad?

There are all kinds of charities and organizations who publish pictures of people like that, usually coloured people, in order to motivate us to donate money, so that those people don't have to starve anymore.
Then there is a brand f deluxe clothing, clothing sold for huge amounts of money, that uses the same "type" of people to promote their expensive clothes?

Those pictures are so wrong, so sad and so scary on so many levels...

You raise an excellent point. If it is wrong to do this for a heavy person, it should be wrong to do this for a thin person. Mea Culpa!

I tell my daughter (7) that skinny is not nice. That skinny is not attractive. I am already implanting that in her mind. I don't want her to grow up thinking she has to be a skeleton to be beautiful and attractive. I always tell her how beautiful she is just the way she is right now.

It is hard to tell how underweight she really is....the dress accentuates the issue.

Frankly, I am surprised they let her out on the runway.....this is not a flattering look for her.

I think if someone posted a picture of a 250+ lb woman in equally revealing clothing as an example of beauty and style people would say the same kind of things.

Well, I don't think the girl is pretty because she's skinny, but it's possible that she has fast metabolism, etc.
It's scary that Laroche puts a person like that up as a role model. With putting her on their catwalk, they basically say "this is what we think a woman should look like". That is plain wrong. It would be just the same way plain wrong if they would put someone there who is morbidly obese.

They should promote a healthy-body type, with a healthy BMI.

But they would get flamed for it, and people would stick up for the woman. I've seen it on other threads where people have complained about heavy people using ECV's or wheelchairs and it gets ugly pretty quick. Here, we all jumped on the bandwagon.
