Seriously Big Park Hours Update 8/29-11/2 - Daily AM EMHs added for DHS, DAK, & MK

I think this is great news that they are increasing morning EMH. Had suspicion that they were going to rely more on paid access with EMM.

Any bets on if/when they may make a similar announcement for Dec? We are going the first week. My guess is that they will hold off on announcing changes for Thanksgiving thru New Years until after SWGE has been open for a while and they know how well their crowd control planning is working.

We've booked Kidani for 30th August to 2nd September for our Honeymoon and I'm absolutely delighted!

I'm glad the across (almost- poor Epcot) the board EMH starts soon as Galaxy's Edge opens. I'm not super keen on it, but it also seems a crime not to take rare advantage of such an early Park opening and see what the fuss is about, but I'm much more excited about enjoying some Toy Story Land while the sun rises heh (multiple rides on Mania with no waits would be super thanks!)

Did they do anything like this when Pandora opened? My only concern is that, rather than thin the crowds, we could find a total log jam the entire weekend. I've always stayed off property so no idea what to expect with EMH now the usual rules are out the window

The one thing that is easy to figure out, is that doing DHS on our first 2 days would be absolute madness when it's open to everyone at 6am onwards. I'm just trying to decide if we keep Epcot on Sunday and brave DHS on the Monday...

This makes me happy we arrive on October 28th and staying through the Nov 5th. Our first 3 days are filled with dining reservations so this gives us 3 days for EMH at HW we are gonna arrive early and check in at BCV so we can make the AK EMH on the 28th. Just made reservations for lunch at Sci Fi so we can spend the morning at SWGE and TSL on Halloween day.

For Galaxy's Edge, you would probably have to get to the park a 5 a.m. for the 6 a.m. opening. The line for that attraction will probably insta-grow to 3+ hours right out of the gate and stay that way until close.

I think this would be great for the rest of the park, however.

For nighttime fans, I think that is where Disney will strike first for paid upsell events.

I agree and I think we will see the DAH from August on announced soon and I would guess they may increase the frequency to make up for the lost revenue from not running EMM from Aug to Nov (maybe longer if they extend the EEMHs in the mornings). They won't be able to add many more to MK because of MNSSHP, but they certainly could for HS and AK.

Super excited to read this!!!! I had considered avoiding HS completely, even though we are staying at Yacht Club, just to avoid the massive crowds. But I can totally do a 6AM rope drop and visit the rest of the park. And if I can get a few hours of park time in that early, I'll have zero guilt about napping in the hotel room for a bit. Supper happy!!!!!!

This update makes me so happy. We are going September 7-14 and we can definitely be early birds. So many extra hours in the park!

We are going Dec 25 to Jan 8. Any guesses on how long this EEMH arrangement will be in place?

This really is an interesting turn of events for those staying off site. Obviously, there will be no free options for seeing SWGE with an early arrival to get at the front of the pack. But watching those stampedes on EasyWDW for Pandora’s first few months an hour and a half before park opening, there realistically wasn’t going to be ANY low stress way to get into SWGE.

The one saving grace for off site visitors is that hopefully this will weed out a bunch of on- site guests who will probably clear out by 10am. Sure, the wait for Smugglers Run will still be astronomical, but at least there might be access into the land once resort guests clear out.

Any idea why they’re cutting off EMH at DHS on 11/3 forward or possibly will extend??

For those lamenting not having nighttime EMH, if you do the 6am rope drop you'll have a little bit of park time in the dark. Sunrise during our trip (Sep 21- Oct 3) is 7:15a (+/- 5 min). :D

I hear dawn on Batuu is stunning!

Steve

We have a much better chance of staying up all night and being in line at 5am than going to bed and trying to wake up that early. :rotfl:

This is so awesome for all of you! Bummed we aren't going until May 2020.

6 am opening at DHS - you'll be able to experience Toy Story Land in the dark that early! :)
That's what we are counting on! We originally had planned on trying to get a SDD FP for 7pm on our September 7th HS day, we have ADR's I don't want to change, and I know Saturday should be awful. But at 6am it should be a walk on in the dark!

Smugglers Run might have a power failure for running for so long. By the time the line clears out for a 10pm close- probably like 1am. They’ll have to start the thing up again each morning at 5am for a 6am go time.

what do you think the odds are of having paid evening after hours events during this time period?

I'm excited to get sunrise pics I see others post that I never get.

We arrive Nov. 2. I find this news stressful as Nov. 3 hours and forward are not available on the Disney site. Will people decide to wait until our week for EEMH at 7 instead of 6? Or will there be paid extra hours which is so not cool when tickets cost sooooooo much. Prices has increased teice since I made the reservation and switching weeks raises the prices.

Wish they would've announced the entire month. ADR day is Monday for Nov.2.

When I first heard the GE opening announced I was so bummed, because we are traveling with our two young grandsons, and chose September 6-12 for low crowds because they don't do lines well. They are also VERY early risers, so now I feel like we have been pixie dusted! I am thinking easy early touring till an early lunch, long breaks (and naps!) until time for the evening shows! Thank you, Disney!
