Seriously? $12 for 3 Mini Tacos? No way La Cantina

Those tacos look like street tacos that you get at Rubio and they are pretty small. I find at a theme park I tend to be more hungry than normal with all the walking so, I can totally see how those don't make a meal. Did you complain? I certainly would have since they weren't what you expected.

I've never liked the Mexican counter service at Epcot so, I doubt I'll ever eat there. Those nachos don't look good to me either.

Therein probably lies the real issue. No, I have to admit we did not complain. Why? Because we had gotten the free DDP, and in retrospect the psychology is that it would have been like complaining about something that was free.

Some people will understand that statement, others will not. But I think that's probably the real issue and why you can see a definite decline in quality and value among the eateries at WDW - because a smaller percentage will complain if a larger percentage believes it's "free".

The whole thing is very disappointing. It is no longer a romantic setting but an outdoor foodcourt. Very disappointing.

And that would make sense if everybody at Disney was eating for free, but they are not. There are many of Florida residents, guests at off property resorts, and other guests that a that don't qualify for free DDP.

I always like to try new places and food when I am at Disney, as well as other places so I planned to try the new Mexican counter serve this trip.

We ordered the three tacos like the OP. The picture does not do justice to how very small they were. Think of the size of those pads you remove eye make up with and that about sums it up. The meat was shredded beef and without much flavor. No salsa was available for the chips either.

Quote the raven, 'Nevermore".

I do concur that if more folks actually complained things might improve. Even if you are on 'Free' dining you are still paying. Even at what I calculate was half price this was a rip off.

Slightly Goofy

We also believed that if these Tacos were 1/2 price, they would still be too expensive for what was served. Food @ Disney is changing and not for the better I'm afraid. :upsidedow

Status Quo will remain as long as folks are afraid to say something for fear of being considered cheap etc.

Times have changed and more people are being more careful about their spending habits and it does no one good, customers or Disney for us to keep our opinions to ourselves. Not that we have to be unpleasant or rude in conveying our opinions.

That being said there are some areas of the country where such prices ARE the status quo and not as noticeable as it might be to us who live in the Midwest etc.

Very well said. I'm also from the Midwest (Missouri) and we don't just expect to be ripped off since we're at a theme park. Highway robbery should be recognizable no matter which region of the country you live. From this day forward, I will respectfully let my complaints be known. :upsidedow

Just ate here last week, my wife had the chicken tacos I had the nachos. The tacos were very small, I would agree that they were probably 4". On a dining plan you get the churros included in the QS meal which were very good. I ended up eating all of my nachos and some of my daughters kids meal chips because the portions werent big at all!! They give 2 chicken fingers and some chips for $6.99 I think, that was also highway robbery!!

Thye view is great if you can find a table out on the deck. It is very crowded and I felt like people were waiting for us to get up at times. The "factory" feel takes away from the setting a little but what can you do about Disney guests during Xmas??? It is a madhouse

The dining plan includes the churros and drink, but if you were paying Out of Pocket, you would add $4 for the churro and $2.50 for the drink. Now your total, for teeny tacos, at a quick service restaurant is a whopping $18.50. Crazy!

We had these tacos and I was extremely disappointed not only in the size of the tacos but they fell apart as I ate them. There was hardly any chicken in them too. It was definitely an overpriced meal and for the $12.00 I'd rather get a dinner size portion at The Seasons in The Land pavilion for my lunch.;)
