Is anyone here listening to the Serial Podcast. I listened to all 10 episodes yesterday and I can't wait for the new one tomorrow. I'm addicted! I would love to hear other people's opinions about whether Adnan is guilty?

I have been listening. Started 3 weeks ago and am hooked. I'm honestly torn as to what I think the truth is. I keep thinking there has to be another person involved we haven't heard about yet.

Oh my word I am hooked! It was agony without an episode last week.

I don't think he did it. Too many outstanding questions and no rational motive or method.
I really really really want to know a lot more about Jay and what his angle is. The one episode that wasn't totally satisfactory to me was the one about Jay.

No way Adnan did it. Now Jay, too many lies to be a credible witness.

Adnan needs a do-over.

I tune in each week. It really is fascinating. I'm so torn on to whether or not Adnan is guilty. There just didn't seem to be enough evidence against him to not have some sort of reasonable doubt. I also don't think Adnans lawyer was very good. I know she has sense passed away. I'm trying to remember if she was ill during his trial?

So much came down to Jay and I still don't understand why he was taken at his word. He could have very easily done it all himself and then set up Adnan pretty easily, but I don't know what the motive for that would have been.

I listen to This American Life, but I sometimes find it tedious. This American Life produces Serial and spent an episode airing the first episode of Serial.

It makes me uncomfortable that this podcast is about a real life murder and it's been turned into a minor pop-culture phenomenon. I heard the brother of Hae Min Lee is kind of upset about the whole thing. Although he's ok with what Sarah Koenig is doing, especially once she was able to get in contact with him.

Apparently Hae's mother doesn't know about the podcast at all.

A good friend my mine's mother was murdered 14 years ago. Her murderer was found, but killed himself before trial. I can imagine that he would not appreciate a podcast series about it.

I definitely think Jay was more involved than he says. I just can't figure out what his motive was. I have seen lots of speculation that Hae found out Jay was cheating on Stephanie, but there is no evidence of that.

Just listened to today's episode. Next week is the last episode! I have a feeling we will be left with more questions than answers.

I am also absolutely obsessed with this podcast! Sarah Koenig is a great storyteller and the podcast is fascinating and extremely well done.

My general feeling, without going into specifics (because how long would that take?) is that Adnan is innocent. However, no matter how you view it, I do NOT think he should have been convicted. There is way too much reasonable doubt. I am shocked he was convicted. It's actually pretty scary.

If you haven't heard, Serial was also just renewed for a second season!

I can imagine that it must be really hard on the family to have all of this brought back up after so many years. I do feel badly for them. It has to be so painful for many people.

I said earlier that I'm really torn on his guilt or innocence. But, I do agree with you that I don't know how he was found guilty beyond reasonable doubt. So much of the case hinged on Jay and so much of his story is just fishy to me.

I do think that if Adnan is guilty that it was not planned as Jay suggested but instead done in the heat of the moment (not that it makes it any better at all). The one reason I can't say that Adnan is totally innocent is that there seemed to be too many instances where he claimed he couldn't remember what happened that day. To me, you would think that day would stand out in your mind and would not get jumbled up with normal routine days. So, that is why I still have my doubts. But, I think he was smoking dope too, so that could account for the memory problem as well. I don't know. It's a very intriguing case.

Haven't listened to the most recent podcast yet. Maybe that will shed more light on some of my lingering doubts!

I've listened to every episode and it just reminds me how little faith I have in the justice system! I try to listen to each episode with an open mind and a healthy dose of skepticism, but I agree that there is DEFINITELY a reasonable doubt, and Jay.. JAY! There's so much more to the story. I tried digging around to find out where Jay is now but didn't have any luck.

I just had an interesting conversation with my DH last week about the cultural comments that woman made regarding middle eastern men towards women. My DH got pretty upset and said no one should have ever even considered that but I have to say....if what that woman said is even remotely true, and yes, I know this would be making a stereotypical generality, I think it could have caused me pause, if I were on the jury.

And I am SO glad I was not on the jury. Every week I change my opinion. The only thing that brings me back to guilty is why...on earth...would Jay have brought this to the law's attention in such fine detail if none of it were true. That would make zero sense.

I also wonder if Adnon could possibly have a personality disorder in which he did it, but fully believes he did not do it.

My new car has stitcher radio and it might have been one of the main deciding factors in my choosing this model. :cool2:

I started the first episode last night and finished up this morning. I couldn't help myself!!!

I always tease my dad that neither of us could be a judge - everyone is guilty to me and everyone is innocent to him. But I tell you what, if he did it he truly has convinced himself otherwise. To me he is very believable. I do also find myself having a hard time with some things, though.

It is a very interesting case. I would be interested to find out what the innocence project finds out.

Just finished the finale. I will withhold my thoughts until others have a chance to listen. :-)

I debated on whether listening first thing this morning or after work today. I couldn't stand it! I listened to it about two hours ago! Now I'm sad that I can't look forward to it all day!

Oh, and I am also sad because I know it will take them many months to get season two together. I can't wait until next fall!!!!!!!

My guy for some reason tells me he is innocent. I'm not sure why I feel that way I just do.

This is the first non Disney podcast I've listened too and I'm hooked. I hate we have to wait for season 2 and I'm interested in what they will cover next.

So did you all know that there is a podcast where they discuss each episode of the Serial podcast. It's made up of crime writers.

Eta: it's called Crime Writers on Serial
