Serene September WISH 2025

Yes and no. I can generally anticipate where my energy is going to fall based on the day of the week and what occurred the night before, what I have scheduled for the day, and what tomorrow will bring.
Like I mentioned yesterday I block time to move but if I find myself not up for the gym I will pivot to a short walk, if a short walk didn’t happen during the day some stretching will happen just before bed, if the day was too much even for that I say screw it and do a manifestation mediation just before bed because that may be all I can handle that day.

I don't really have formal green/yellow/red routines like in the image, but I definitely modify my expectations for the day based on how I slept and whether I'm in "recovery mode" from dealing with other things. I feel lucky to have at least some control over my goals most days.

I've just recently followed some advice to separate a "top 3" section of my to do list to reduce the procrastination that comes from not knowing where to start. So I guess that's similar to having a "red" list - the day counts as successful if that's all you get done.

I don't know what happened while I was sleeping last night, but I woke up feeling like I had run a marathon and then gotten in a bar fight. Thankfully today is work-from-home and I can limp around the house in peace.

I had thought about going to a craft fair in my old town tomorrow, but I was just able to book a massage for mid-morning, so hallelujah for that. Aside from that a lot of fall cleaning needs to take place, so I'll be sticking close to home except to make a GW drop off, which is a coupe towns away. Sunday is supposed to be rainy, so that'll be a slow snuggly day for sure.

What a week. My student with severe behavior issues was outrageous this week destroying property and nearly knocking me on the ground. Fortunately when he lunged at me, instead of landing on the cement floor, I landed in a nearby chair. I'm concerned about breaking a hip or getting some other kind of injury. I wish I was closer to retirement. My plans to teach until I'm 70 have become a pipe dream. After that incident, I had my first panic attack in 40 years. It was terrifying, and unfortunately word got out around the school. It makes me feel like I will be viewed as weak and unprofessional, but I can't control the gossip.

I don't mind working my after school job. Even though it's chaotic with the kids, I have tremendous support. Behaviors are not tolerated, and if a child is violent, they are kicked out of the program immediately. We have an excellent 1:10 teacher to student ratio, whereas in my public school, my ratio is 1:25.

I had a pedicure this morning which was a treat for my sore feet, and they look cute.
