Hi
Happened to stumble across this forum...but so glad I did.

I have just booked a long weekend to DLP, it was a spare of the moment thing and didn't really do much research on the internet before we booked. We are staying obviously at Sequonia Lodge, but the reviews I have since read all over the internet do not seem very positive, and I now feel quite deflated! I have read the rooms are dirty and the food vile.
We are going with a 1 year old and a 4 year old and I am sure they will love it whatever!!
Do people think it is worth going for a montana room rather than a standard?
Oh we need to get from CDG to DLP, because of our timings we will either have to get a taxi or a private transfer, does anyone have any recommendations.
Anything positive would really cheer me up and sorry for so many questions.

Hi and welcome.

We stayed at Sequioa Lodge in summer and loved it. We had a Montana room but mainly coz we wanted to be in the main building rather than one of the lodges.

A lot of people here recommend RS/BS transports for transfer from CDG to DLP - theres info in the FAQ sticky at the top of the page.
Theres also reviews and pics of S Lodge in the hotel sticky

We stayed in the sequoia lodge last year and would not be staying in it again if it were as you described. It was lovely, room clean, surrounding nice.

If it is of any help I have read many a bad review about the disneyland hotel!

So by the sounds of it, there are just some people who can never be pleased!

I don't know where you read such awful reviews! I have stayed there on 2 occasions and it has lived up to expectations. The room has always been clean, as for the food and the service; they were more than satisfactory.

I love it so much that I would gladly choose SL above DLH, DHNY and NPB anyday! It's so cosy in the winter, plus it is definitely the best value for money. You've made the right choice :thumbsup2

We've stayed at Sequoia Lodge (Montana Rooms) the last two years and are planning on returning there for our visit in December.

I've no issue with going back to Sequoia - the rooms have always been fine, and the food great - need I say more!.

Regards

Iain

I stayed there last year in the standard room with my 4 year old son, and it was wonderful, the room was clean etc, the only thing is you are away from the main hotel, but not by loads, We would definiatly stay again, having said that we are going for halloween and we are staying in the Cheyenne but only *** my little one is cowboy mad!! To be honest we hardly spent any time in our rooms *** the parks kept us busy so i'm sure you will have a fantastic time.

Some people can moan and complain about everything and lets face it they do you will never make them happy:yay:

We stayed here in May and loved it. I think our room was recently decorated and was lovely, bathroom possibly slightly dated but functional (found it handy having the washbasin separate). Only had breakfast there but very nice. Generally a very cosy feel, especially in the bar area. Going to the hotel NY next week but a big part of me wishes it was SL and we will deffo be going back there.

I have stayed there a few times & have never had a dirty room, if I had I wouldn't stay there again.

Breakfast was lovely too.

I'd booked to stay at SL but upgraded to DLH. The only reason I did this was because this is our one and only chance to stay there because of our budget/family size. I would have been delighted to stay at SL and will definitely book there for our next trip. My DH was disappointed that I'd changed our hotel as he has wanted to stay at SL for 4 years. Pink just isn't his thing...:goodvibes

I stayed in the Sequoia Lodge for the first time last October, then went back another 3 times in the following 6 months! It is a lovely hotel and the breakfast was very nice. We also ate there once in the evening and enjoyed that too. The rooms were very clean. We were in a standard room the first time and then Montana for the next 3 visits. This was because we went during winter and wanted to be in the main building - it meant we could decide to nip down to the bar or shop on a whim without loading all our coats and scarves back on.

I've stayed at SL twice and the rooms are great! Lovely and clean and quite big I think.

I'm staying at the DLH next time as I am able to afford it (finally!) but would never hesitate to stay at SL, and I'm very fussy over hotels!!

We have stayed in SL twice and it's a really nice hotel. The rooms were very clean and breakfast is good. We have also had dinner at the restaurants there - ok, there are other restaurants where the food is better but it's definitely NOT vile!

We had a Montana room second time round and I must say, with 2 little ones, I definitely found it much easier just 'going downstairs' for brekkie and also not having to walk those extra few mins to the 'lodges' at the end of the long day (the 1st time, we had a room in a lodge about 5 mins walk away from the main building).

We stayed at the SL last November and loved. We stayed in the montana rooms only because we wanted to be in the main building. Absolutely loved it, such a lovely cosy hotel. Felt very homely. Only ate breakfast there but it was lovely, lots of selection and all very fresh. Staff were really lovely too.
We are off again this November and cant wait.

There are plenty of Sequoia Lodge fans here :)

Thank you all I do feel reassured!! Obviously I managed to find all the reviews of the people that moan!!! And surely you only got to your room to sleep. However think I will phone and change to a montana room.

Thanks again

Did you find the negative reviews on Trip Advisor by any chance? They always have the best negative reviews on there.

I found that too, especially when I was looking at going to the States last year, You would never stay in any hotel if you went with what everyone saying. The information was conflicting

From what I have been told or it may just be Urban Myth, a lot of competing hotels will put bad reviews in for there competitors.

Steve

It was trip advisor!!! Nobody seems to have anything nice to say about any of the hotels. Some made it sound like a flea pit!!
Anyway I do feel better now I have found some happy people.:)

Hello, don't worry. We are going back to the Sequioa Lodge for our fourth time. We have stayed at Disney land hotel and also New York Hotel. I always return to Sequoia. I love the way it is set out. the big seating area and bar in reception, you can watch the world go by. Always had a lovely room and the breakfasts are yummy.
I'm sure you will enjoy it very much.
