Hi
Was on here a couple of years ago but can't remember my logins but had so much great help I had to come back! :)

We're planning to go on the 14th September to 28th, first question is what is the weather like, we went in August a few years ago and take it will be about the same. Are the parks quiet at this time?

There are 5 in the party, myself and my wife, 21 year old daughter and her bf of the same age and our beautiful grand daughter who will be 3. The initial plan is to spend the first 2 nights at Cabana Bay, then 10 nights at a condo in Windsor Hills and the last 2 nights at AKL one bed villa, what do you think?

There will be lots more questions, getting excited!!! :cool1:

:welcome: back!

September is still a fairly quiet time to visit. The weather will still be hot but starting to cool off a little with a slightly lower chance of a daily afternoon shower. Not dramatically different to August and still in prime hurricane season which could always bring some wet weather - but I wouldn't let that worry you :goodvibes

Enjoy planning :thumbsup2

The weather is lovely, sunny and hot! It can still be pretty humid. Temps will be in the 80s, and there's usually a downpour once a day.

It's our favourite time to visit - we are there 9-18 :)

Last time we went in September was 8 years ago and the parks were virtually empty - but I think in recent years there are no times that are that slow anymore. Crowd levels are only 1-3 but MK can still be very busy, particularly on weekends. But much better than August!

We went last september and for the first week the weather was great, very hot but easy enough to get around just had to drink loads of water, the second week was pretty wet but didnt ruin anything, its strange stepping in puddles in sandles and the water being warm lol.

I think the longest we qued for anything was an hour for splash mountain but that was a sat afternoon, the parks were pretty quiet. Also visiting universal studios in the rain was great as the whole place was dead :)

September is our favourite time to visit also - I can't wait until my DS leaves school (or, at least, will no longer travel with us) and we can go back to September trips.

The weather should be hot but slightly less humid than August. You may also have some showers/thundery outbreaks and, as Tracy says, will be in prime hurricane season which can have an impact (although there is no way of predicting whether there will be adverse weather due to hurricanes this far in advance).

September is lovely, the parks are so quiet. We always try to go in September. There might be some afternoon showers and some wind, but othervice it is hot and nice!

We have traveled to Disney about the same time you are going for the past 5 of 6 years. I will tell you when we first started going, it was dead. Waits were 10 -15 minutes. Then they started offering free dining. I know in the past couple of years they offered it to Europe and South America first and then to US citizens. The point is, they are filling that park!! What used to be a quiet time is really not so much anymore. Now, in comparison with summer crowds and 2 hour waits, it isn't bad but expect quite a bit of crowds.

To give you an idea, last year, Peter Pan (which for some reason is always packed) had a 90 minute wait. However, I would say that Space Mountain was more in the 25 minute wait. To get into Be Our Guest for lunch, we waited about an hour (and it was well worth it;). So my point is, it is lower crowds than summer but it is still packed full of people. Just don't expect the ghost town that we had back 6 years ago in September.

Regarding the weather, having been a former Floridian, September is a good time to go. Of course, you have to pray that a hurricane won't hit but other than that, the temps tend to be quite a bit more moderate than those of August. I find it less humid too. I would say that when we go, it has averaged in the low to high 80's. Not too bad. I love that it isn't deathly hot yet is still great to swim at night (or day).

One last big tip: book those dining reservations as soon as you possibly can. With free dining being offered (we already booked from last year and I would assume they will offer it again this year starting in April), the restaurants are absolutely packed. There are almost no standby reservations. In the last few years, I have heard at many restaurants that there are no slots open for walk ins. The free dining is what packs the parks and if you are getting free dining, you definitely book reservations. That makes it hard for those that don't plan. At least 180 days out--book those dining reservations!!!!

We do love September to travel and will miss doing so this year (we have a high schooler who just can't miss that much school). I hope that you will have a wonderful trip.

we've also been in September, last the time was Sept 2012. The parks used to be empty but not so any more. With the offer of free dining and also because people cottoned on to it being empty they now get quite busy. TBH its prob one of my least fav times to go due to the humidity (I can do heat but not a wet heat). It also can rain a lot. One year we had rain morning noon and night for a week. The last time we went we certainly got rain most afternoons but it was good other then that. But you are going a bit later then we went in September and that will make a difference with the weather.
We also got stuck in hurricane Frances one year (2 days stuck in a room), but its rare that happens and it can happen into November.
:)

Thanks very much for the replies, this is why I came back here, great replies and always honest :)
Thanks again and I'm sure there will be plenty more questions!
