The last time we went in September was 2006 and it was great! Yes, it was hot but not crowded at all. We walked on to everything :)
Does anyone know how much the crowd level has changed since then?

The week after Labor Day weekend is still empty, but the crowds build from empty toward moderate by the end of the month. Still, they never get past moderate.

We went the week of Labor Day this past year. It was more crowded than the same week was in 2009, but still nothing like summer crowds. We're going the week after Labor Day this year hoping it's calmer.

We went this past September. Rope drop is a good idea. One night at Epcot we walked into soarn with a 20 minute stand by wait only! We rode the boat ride in Norway over and over. Missions space green was never longer than 10 minutes. Test track was a different story, long waits for that one. Dhs we did rope drop and walked over to toy story and walked right on...maybe 5 minute wait. The long line we had was also at be our guest. People say the line moves fast, it does NOT! We were at the foot of the bridge and waited longer than .5 an hour! The heat was a problem while waiting for lunch but we survived. We will go again in septmeber this year again do to the lower crowds and cheaper cost.

We have gone in September. The crowds are manageable. I really don't think there is a slow time at Disney anymore. I loved the free dinning we had in September and that can draw crowds.

We will be there the same week :thumbsup2. Looking at your info it says you are a Flyers fan. UD Flyers? If so, I am from Dayton.

Philadelphia Flyers....sorry. Actually, I feel sorry for myself after the season we've been having.....

We go always go in the end of September, which is considered the busier part of September and we have never felt like it was too crowded or like summer crowds, we just went in sept 2013. The longest wait we saw was about 30mins. It does help to go by crowd calendars though because I have heard other September goers say they went to a non recommended park on a day and it was wall to wall crowds. This has never happened to me but I suppose it could at any park if you endure the park on a non recommended day. Overall I still feel as though September is one of the lowest crowds wise to go :)

We've only been in September.

September 21-28, 2010
Our first trip to DW. We found the wait times and crowds to be low. DH did remark that there still seemed to be a lot of people there (i.e. walking around, it wasn't completely empty) but it did not translate to long wait times for the rides/attractions. We walked right on many headliners and rarely had to pull a fast-pass (except for rides like Toy Story Mania). We did do morning EMH and rope-drop and that certainly helped as well.

September 22-30, 2012
We found quite a difference in the crowds compared to the same week two years ago. We went to MNSSHP on Tuesday September 25th thinking it would be low crowds and it was wall-to-wall packed with people. We bought our tickets the evening before so it hadn't been sold out at least at that point but it wouldn't have surprised me to find out that it did end up sold out. It definitely affected our enjoyment of it.

Also, there were fairly significant line-ups for rides that we just walked onto in 2010 (ex. Spaceship Earth, The Great Movie Ride). I had used Touring Plans as a guideline to help pick the parks with the lowest crowds too.

September 8-16, 2013
Having read on the DIS message boards the common complaint of how busy the end of September had become and how others were reporting low crowds the first couple couple of weeks of September, we decided to go the 8th-16th. I would say that it was about the same crowds level as first year we went in 2010. We were pleased. Except the villains night on September 13th at HS. It was PACKED!!!

Hope this helps!
