I'm thinking of going in September to take advantage of the discounts Disney is offering. Anyone have any experience with Disney at this time of year? What can I expect with weather and crowds? Any help at all will be appreciated.

We are also going in September. I was reading in one of the many Disney travel planning books, that this is one of the rainiest times of the year, and the highs are usually in the upper 80s to low 90s.

We took advantage of free dinning last year in September. It was our first September trip. We are going this September also. Anyway, it was hot and humid crowds were awesome because there were none. We walked on everything. We never took advantage of EMH becuse we didn't need to. I think one day we had a passing shower but nothing to send you back to your hotel for the day. It was great except feeling sticky all the time because of the heat/humidity. We went the second week of September maybe better toward the end. However, putting up with the heat was worth no lines.

We have been in September twice. It rained each day but for only about 15 minutes or so (enough to soak the stroller if you didn't cover it before you went on a ride). In 2004 we were there for Hurricane Jeanne - parks closed early the night before and closed all of the next day. Wasn't as bad as people think. Disney kept everyone updated with the Hurricane tracking throught the phone message system. Never lost power or anything. We felt very safe there. Parks opened on time the next day!

It was humid both years that we went. (We just went at the beginning of May and the weather was much cooler (and no humidity) compared to September.)

Crowds were not bad at all. We just utilized the Fast Pass system on rides that had anything over a 20 minute wait and we rode everything we wanted to. ADRs were necessary at every restaurant we ate at because of the free dining.

I would go again in September in a heartbeat - the free dining makes that choice a lot easier. (I would actually go the end of September if I had a choice.)

DH and I love September! We went last September, have a trip planned for this September, and September of 2007!!!!

Did I mention we love September!?!?!?!?!

We are going in Sept as well and all I have been hearing is LOW CROWDS! best time to go and enjoy! My advise to you if you just booked, try and plan your ADR's. We were planning them the other day and lots of times we wanted were already taken!

we have been to Disney every month with the exceptions of June, July, August & December....

September is our favorite yes, it is hotter and more humid.
yes, it does rain more in Sept... However...... There is no greater payoff then either walking onto rides or a minimal wait!

little tip... grab a facecloth from your room, and bring a ziplock baggie.. it is very refreshing to cool yourself off from the drinking fountain.. (just be sure to return the face cloth )

We used to go in September when DS was in elementary school, but now with middle school, it's just too much makeup work, and I REALLY miss going then. Low crowds and no lines, boy I miss that!!! You will have a wonderful time!!!

Wow, thanks for all the advice! We are looking at the last week of September. I'm surprised it is still so hot & humid. We went a few years ago at the end of August and it was sticky the whole time. With the free dining and discount prices, it's hard to pass up on this.
