This will be our first trip to US/IOA we are getting really excited! At first I thought well, it wont be disney, but hopefully we'll have fun! I have a few books about US/IOA that I have started to read... and lets just say, we are getting super duper excited!

So, we are going in september... I know what the crowds are like in disney in sept... what should i expect for US/IOA?
I have our itinerary roughed out...
most of our vacation is after labor day weekend, but our universal part is at the front of our vacation. Labor day is Monday, 9/5...... what do you think it will be like to do IOA on sunday 9/4 the day before labor day? I know most everyone says crowds are good after labor day... and they always have been for us over at disney, but I am wondering if monday is really the magical day people stop coming or will we be ok on sunday? We plan on arriving at park opening of course... but just wondering what the crowds will be like....

Are there any better days for either park?

Hi we went sept 2003 crowds were mostly light compared to disney we had little or no wait times cant say it will be the same 2005 but we will be there at same time :cool1:

People go to church on Sunday morning.

If you show up early like you say, then you'll have no problems. Parking garage opens at 8am. On holiday weekends, IOA usually opens early, at 08:45am, sometimes 08:30am. Most show up at 11am and this is the worst time to arrive. For those first two hours, you will get walkon rides. If they do open early, and you are at the gate, you'll get to do all of Marvel Island (Hulk, Dr. Doom, and Spiderman) all before 9am.

There's a major differance between Disney and IOA. Most disney rides have a long preshow, so even if you show up early, you'll only get on a couple rides before the crowd catches up. But at IOA, you can take an entire lap of the park by noon, leave in the afternoon to rest, then come back at night.

thanks for the tips!!!!
We have read about the being there when the garages open and then getting in as soon as the park opens and how much you are able to accomplish before the parks get busy... so this is our plan!

Cannot wait to ride the HULK!!!!!!!!!!!!
