September/October 2013 check in

congrats to everyone with adrs. Looks great and I'm hungry!

Congrats also on your ADRs - they look great. It sounds like you're in for a wonderful gathering of like-minded friends.
We'll still have to see if we're going to be in the same area at the same time so we can catch up for a drink. :-)

I couldn't decide about the Fantasmic dinner package either. The problem is that neither of the two places I want to dine at in HS are included in the package.
I'm hoping that the opening of F&W Festival will draw the crowds to Epcot and HS crowd levels will be low.

Touring Plans and Easy WDW both predict low crowds for our dates. The 2 places we want to eat are also not in the package, so we are just going to go with the flow. We will get there early and buy the kids some popcorn or something to keep them amused.

Made our first ever reservations for our first trip ever!!called in was so easy .
Trex dinner
Be our guest dinner
50s prime dinner
Via nopolia dinner
Yac and yeti dinner
And Cinderella royal dinner
All between 530-630

My question is do you guys think these are good times? We def want sit downs for dinners any heads up for any of these places.

Welcome deadheadmamma :-)

Only you know how those dining times will fit into your day to day plans. However, as far as I am aware, a good thing about early dinners like yours is that they won't clash with any of the parades or fireworks shows.

Welcome to the Aus board! The more the merrier we say pixiedust:

Interesting name you have. I have to know, are you a Grateful Dead fan or do you have 4 children and they've made you tired? :hippie:

I've never done ADRs, we are quick service people in general but I love some of your ideas and one day, when we don't tour commando style, I'd love to do some dining places.

Thanks guys makes me feel better I made the best choose. It's hard still trying to figure out why Friday sept 27th mk is closing at 7 pm does that seem early for a Friday night or do you think they will have the spooky thing that night it's just not advertised yet ? I can't find the blog to ask that question?

It's a pretty good assumption that any night the MK closes at 7pm they will be having Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party (MNSSHP). The official dates haven't been released yet, however I have booked Pirates League and an early 5:30 dinner at MK on the night of the 29th on the presumption MNSSHP will be on that night.

If you aren't going to MNSSHP on the 27th, it may pay to dine somewhere else that night. Otherwise you will get kicked out the park shortly after you've finished tea. If you are going to MNSSHP, I've read that you can use your party ticket to get into MK as early as 4pm even though the party doesn't start till 7.

We have reservations for cinderellas royal at 530 ( us girls) the boys were going to magic quest ( free tix ) with room but know thinking they should just skip stay in park here quest is not that great wondering if it's worth the time shooting over Threre for 3 hours then heading bake to mk?

Are you planning on buying the special tickets to go to MNSSHP; assuming that it is scheduled for the 27th? If so, then it probably is better for the boys to stay at MK rather than head to Disney Quest.

If you're not going to get the special tickets, then you will be asked to leave at 7 pm. The CM are very good at policing guests without the wristband.

We talked abought it def going to spooky not quest if it is that night if not and we do get kicked out at 7 then it's down town shopping or swimming for us girls keeping my fingers crossed its the spooky!

sorry folks, have been a bit absent with my trip planning due to a recent car accident and have been housebound for a while. and with money being really tight until i can get back on my feet, i just couldn't get enthused about my trip planning.

but here goes:

fri oct 18 - thurs oct 24 - disneyland resort, probably a side trip to san diego or hollywood/LA area, and will be going to mnsshp at least once
thurs oct 24 - virgin america flight lax - mco
fri oct 25 - sat oct 26 - wdw, focussing mostly on MK in the morning and then epcot & illuminations at night.
sat oct 26 - sat nov 2 - dcl western fantasy cruise, port adventures in costa maya, grand cayman and possibly doing stingray feeding at castaway cay
sat nov 2 - mon nov 4 - universal orlando including harry potter world, maybe KSC side adventure
mon nov 4 - virgin america flight mco - lax, then virgin australia flight lax - bne
wed nov 6 - arrive home
mon nov 11 - return to work :)

still lots to book and pay for (eek, just over 6 mths and lots of savings still to be achieved :scared1:) and organise, but those are the concrete plans at this stage :)

It looks like you have a nice little rest before returning to work.

Sorry to hear about the accident. Being house bound sounds like it was quite a serious accident?

Sorry to hear about the accident. Being house bound sounds like it was quite a serious accident?

i was in a cab on my way home from work a few weeks ago, and the driver of the cab didn't give enough space when changing lanes, and an oncoming car hit the passenger side of the cab just behind my seat.

the drivers of both vehicles were ok, but because the impact happened right where i was sitting/just behind me (like, inches behind), i absorbed most of the impact and was knocked around a bit... whiplash and my right knee hit the dashboard with enough force to do some pretty damage. nothing broken, all just bruises and scrapes and nerve and muscle damage, but because my knee has had issues before, this was enough to put me out of commission on total bed rest for close to 3 weeks... i couldn't move it, bend it, straightening it is still ridiculously painful, and it would collapse on me every time i tried to stand.

i'm back at work in 2 days, but i'm going to have issues with it on an ongoing basis for a long time... something as simple as banging it against the dash was enough to knock it out of alignment and damage even further the existing torn ligaments & muscles :(

it's been a bit of a pain, a bit of a nightmare, but i'm just grateful to be going back to work (there's a surprising statement) and being able to be active and mobile and start to exercise again :)

Wow Alicia, I didn't realise your injury was so serious. I hope you are getting some good treatment and that with being able to start exercise you are able to build up the strength in your knee.
