Yeah there are quite a few teacher conference around the states in October. It is rated as a mid-busy time on TGM.

MNSSHP runs for the end of September through October.

Columbus Day weekend is a busy one.

And then in Minnesota the kiddos get Thursday the 18th and Friday the 19th off for teacher conferences.

Oh and I just found out that ALL Florida schools are closed on Friday the 19th!!

Ouch, we arrive the next day, and my newbies will arrive on the Sunday, at least the rest of the week should be quiet. I am hoping for a code for them, would like to make the first trip not be full price for them. They have it paid off almost all the way already.

Must be looking at going for MEA?? We are in Minnesota too...I booked already with AAA but I ma hoping that some code will come out so we could possibly upgrade from POR to a nicer hotel or save a few extra $$.

Yep, MEA break. Our school throws in an in-service date that week as well so the kiddos get 3 days off. I thought it would be the perfect time to go. Glad to see other MN people here.

Farmington last year gave the kindergarteners Tuesday and Wednesday off for conferences...so I am PRAYING that they do that this year so my DD only misses school on Monday...if not guess she will miss three

so we will take a week vacation with the kids only missing 2 days of school!!!
First my husband need to get a job!!!! Pray for that!!

Wow this has got to be the biggest gathering of MN disers I have ever seen on the Dis I'm hoping for free dining or a good AP discount for my dates of 9/20-10/2 so it looks I will miss those of you headed over MEA.

Hello...looks like you might be there in time for the FREE dining...that would be nice for you. I am sure we will find NO codes or anything. I booked already, so we are going regardless...just would be nice to get something off...means I can spend more there

We're hoping for SOMETHING in late September. The school used to take 3 days off that last week for conferences. This is the 1st year they haven't but we are going anyway. Hope no one yells at us! The only breaks we have, other than the occasional 3-day weekend, are over T-Giving, Christmas, Easter. ALL are times that are more crowded and more expensive so we stuck with Sep. They'll miss 4 days but I think we'll be ok.

I am going in late Sept too. My brother and his family are taking their first trip to DWD. I can't wait to see their faces! I too am looking for a code, is there a certain time when they are released? Is there somewhere you call and be added to a list for promotions? I have been reading alot in the past few day and do I assume correctly if you book with, let's say an AAA discount and better one comes out you can change your offer? I already have park passes, just need a good room rate. Is that too many questions?

Hey, I'm from MN as well!!! We were going to go Oct 3rd -10th. Then I heard about free dining and decided that I'd wait and see. THen I found that Columbus day is busy so WE're gonna go 9/19-9/27. WE will be there with our 2 y/o dd while our baby girl stays home with her GRandparents!!

My family and I are highly considering going in early-mid October this year. We've never gone in the fall (only in the hotness of July and once in May) and was curious what sort of AP discounts were offered in past years?

Also, how's the weather and crowds usually like?

According to Mousesavers, they released a room only discount for checkins between Aug 19 - Sept 30 on July 10. They released package discounts at the same time.

Package discounts for check in Oct 1 to Dec 23 were released Aug 17. There weren't any general public room only discounts for October last year.

I got excited when I saw this on Mousesavers and I hope we get some kind of discount. It would be nice if they add the last few days in September to it too
